as you can see this was my #3! I really enjoy this song and I love how the two of them sound together. I do think the song is kinda just there and if it weren't for the fact that it was a duet it'd probably be near the bottom for me. That said, I wish the two of them had recorded another, better, duet! There is potential there I think
up next will see a painful loss for a couple others!

"Life Sure Has Changed Us Around" was a huge disappointment tbh. For starters, the melody has a really hokey and disjointed feel to it, at least to me. Also, John's vocals do not work at all on this melody. In fact, I think this is the worst I have ever heard him sound. And he and Pam really don't mesh well together at all. I'm alright seeing it miss out on the album tracks rankdown in favor of everything that is left! Also castleoblivion26 the trajectory makes it look like you had this at #1

This may be an unpopular opinion, but looking at everything that is left, I am about ready for "Band In The Window" to take a hike! At this point I think I like everything else better than that one. I am REALLY hoping it doesn't win just because of single bias.....

Definitely not my #1, looking over it looks like the numbers for my top 3 got mixed up when I made the History graphs, checking everything to make sure nothing else is messed up beyond those numbers.

I am REALLY hoping it doesn't win just because of single bias..... I initially liked this cause I tend to like every comment on any of my rankdowns but I had to take away that rank. "Band In The Window" is great and should win... Anyways, update on the history graphs. Apparently I messed up the numbers on other ranks in the top 8, thought I had messed up tim's when re-doing it all again but I just further messed up entering numbers. The ranks for everyone and overall calculations are correct, the only thing wrong is the history graphs. Am gonna update those before posting any more. It ain't one of my rankdowns without me messing something up ETA: made some adjustments to my previous statement on here. I've fixed all the numbers and now am redoing all the graphics for the top 8. The history graphics for 11-9 were 100% correct thankfully. Sorry about that everyone!

"Train Without A Whistle" is one I kept coming back to because of the vivid imagery in the lyrics. Melodically I can understand why it might have gotten some lower ranks, but it definitely deserved to be at least this high imo.

Although that one also hit the top 20 on radio ;)

"That Was A Heartache" was such a great listen as it has a certain kind of throwback feel to it. It definitely was one of the highlights.

Looking back I regret leaving this outside of my top 5 because I initially had it placed in my top 3. I thought this was a very well written song and just now realized that it was co-written by Jon Randall who has proven himself to be a stellar songwriter.

"Down By The Water" is a really catchy tune. I found the chorus melody to get a little repetitive after several listens, which was how it ended up only as high as #7 on my list. So overall I'm satisfied with this placement!
"That Was A Heartache" was one that I just kept coming back to as I made my list. I'm not totally sure what it is that drew me to it. It's just got a really warm and welcoming tone to it or something. I'm glad to see it make the top 5 here!

for anyone paying attention you will notice how we've only lost 1 #1 so far ( someguy's at #10). There are 4 total songs that have #1 rankings, and one is already out. Meaning 3 of the final 4 have #1 rankings and at least one person will be next to lose their #1 at #4!

Snap, I just realized my top 4 is the top 4 (well actually top 5 haha)! That said, I'm pretty confident my top ranking song is quite safe from elimination for now.

I thought "Something Burning Out" might be next. This song just has such great imagery! When I'm listening to it I get such powerful vibes of sitting in a smoky bar near closing time watching her sing, similar to LAW's "All The Trouble" or something. It's just dark in such a captivating way. This'll be one I'm excited to watch in the album tracks rd! On that note, I'm THRILLED that "Someone Somewhere Tonight" is the highest album track! I'm hoping it can sneak into the top 2

Speaking of the top 5, I have to say every song that made it in are just great overall. That goes for "Something Burning Out" as I kept finding myself wanting to come back around to this slow waltz. It's also perfectly produced as the right mood is set with the piano, fiddle, and steel guitar.
I had to go back to see who wrote this (Leslie Satcher) and have to say Pam really found some great material from the best that Nashville has to offer. I also had no idea that Bruce Robison co-wrote "That Was a Heartache" along with Leslie Satcher!

If I were to guess, I'd say that "Band in the Window" leaves next with "The Hard Way" and "Someone Somewhere Tonight" in the top 2.

It took a few listens for "Band In The Window" to grow on me, but once it did I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I might. Initially I thought it was a tad bit on the corny side, but I can certainly see the appeal and why some of y'all like it.

There is a quirkiness that I love. Sad it missed out on the top 2 but not entirely surprised either

Yeah, I do like "Band In The Window" a bit, but I just don't think Pam sounds all that great. I've noticed over the course of this album series that she has a tendency to sound a little "off" on certain songs, and this is one of those songs where her voice just doesn't work for me. To me she sounds a little flat in the chorus, especially with the part where the band pauses and she sustains "baaaaaaand" at the start of the chorus.
While I wouldn't skip it, I think it'll be an easy bottom 5 when her singles rd happens.

I'll second this as her voice is what held this song back some for me. I too thought she sounded a bit rough at times on this song, but as castleoblivion26 mentioned the quirkiness of it kind of won me over in the end.
