"1979" may be my personal favorite here but I'm not mad at all that "In the Meantime" won. I thought it was great to see a surprise winner, the little song that could, come out on top.

Don't forget to submit for Alternative 1995, which will be coming up in just over a week's time. I personally have to get back to work on that one as well. I will probably be back fairly soon to host another one of these retro Active rankdowns. It was more fun for me this time around. I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of this after having done how many of these now lol.

Great job. This is easily one of my top 5 favs from this band. See I don't just tank the the big grunge bands when they dish out melodic numbers like these.

9. Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart - Stone Temple Pilots
How much sense do the top two rankers for this song make. [img src="http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif" class="smile" src="http://images.proboards.com/tongue.gif" alt=""] I thought they would better than Pumpkins. This is wayyyyyyyy fiercer jam. You guys must have the volume turned down way too low to enjoy STP to the max?

8. Long Way Down - The Goo Goo Dolls
dropped a bit from my last rank, but my top 20 was reserved for my top favs of 1996.

7. Burden in My Hand - Soundgarden
I don't hate it. It's just a bit on the dull side.

6. Tonight, Tonight - The Smashing Pumpkins
This is a very nice song, but nice isn't the main thing I watch for on ACTIVE Rock.

Funny enough I'm one of the bottom rankers, but still a top 40 rank. You can't deny a good song top 5 action.

Pretty awesome this made top 5. Right up there with "Slide" for me.
