I find it funny/ironic this drought lowkey happened right as the Scorpion era finished in the top 10 back when In My Feelings descended from #1. Maybe the public wants another Drake takeover :kii: In your head perhaps, but let's not forget that IMF faded very fast so it was hardly BIGGER hit than 7 Rings for example.

I never said no song since has been bigger. I said the top 10 has relatively been in a drought since August (when coincidentally IMF was departing). Literally all I said. There’s been multiple hits that had much more longevity in top 10 than IMF since it left. Which is exactly why there is a drought currently, the same old songs are still hanging on...

Ok but the songs in top ten are not at all older than they were when IMF was there, it might FEEL that way as they were released n 2018 but only 5 of the songs have been charting for more than 20 weeks and of those Shallow has spent only 5 weeks in top ten in general.

There’s a definite drought in the top 10. Multiple songs are well beyond their peak, and many of the high charting songs are doing below average numbers compared to usual songs charting as high. 2018 had God’s Plan/Perfect into March, 2017 had Shape of You into March, 2016 had Work/Hello/Love Yourself into March, and 2015 had Uptown Funk/Thinking Out Loud/etc. It’s just a fact that Sunflower/Shallow/Sucker aren’t doing anywhere near what those songs were doing at their peak, nor overall. 7 Rings isn’t as weak as those 3, but it also isn’t going head to head with any of the above mentioned songs either. 7 Rings is barely doing 300 points under simm’s formula and it’s not even 10 weeks old. The fact Wow might push it from #1 next week and that song is #10 on Streaming & #6 on Radio this week...

Lil Nas X needs to send Old Town Road to radio and maybe release an actual video (even though I love the Red Dead Redemption 2 video).

I wonder if it's possible for Wow. to eventually reach #1, it's a great song.

No, it's another quiet week of releases. Foster the People are dropping a new track and Marina is releasing her new album, but neither are out of the gate releases that will affect the charts much. Next week should be interesting though with Billie's album.

Wasn't too sure about Please Me but it looks like it's progressing into a solidified radio hit.

Hopefully this is the calm before the storm that might take place later in the year. New releases from Adele, Rihanna, Gaga, and I know there’s more expected out. Is Katy still on the list? I wouldn’t count her out totally ...yet.

Nav is dropping his album, featuring and executively produced by The Weeknd. Would rather have Chapter VI from Abel. But I hope NAV can get some success, even though I'm not a big fan of him.

I don't know where should i ask this. Does anyone know why many of the biggest drops from #1 were from 1974? Out of the ten biggest drops from #1, 7 are from that year

Out of the ten biggest drops from #1, 7 are from that year Some theories From the late 1960s Up to mid 1973 - The Hot 100 top 50 was a sales only chart creating volatility most notably in 1974 Also DJs would remove the song from its playlist at the time it hit #1, throwing a bit of a curve into the airplay numbers
