Interesting to see the AM streams for OTR, the Spotify numbers don't indicate that it would go top ten this week but AM numbers might be very good.

I hope "Break Up" manages somehow to return to the top 10 with radio growing. But even if not.. fine, at least a #2 peak

The genres charts tied to the Hot 100, I never really understood why they exist One reason might be that labels benefit off of it: "Kelsea Ballerini hit #1 on BB Country" is a better marketing ploy than "Kelsea Ballerini scrapes Top 40 with 'Peter Pan'"

The people who are guaranteed to shake up the charts are Drake, Post Malone, Rihanna, and Ed Sheeran. Adele x100

Because MTB was a #1 Country AIRPLAY song Meant to Be was on the Country songs chart for about 3 months before it even reached the top 15 of the airplay chart. So no, I don't think that has anything to do with it

New Ari/Victoria Monet song tomorrow night, this can either flop or do very well, depending on if it is promoted.

Oh no, Ariana sweetie, what is you doing? It’s too soon. Break up isn’t even top 10 on pop

Ariana is really over saturating herself. She can’t focus on one song for too long I see.

Old Town Road up to #7 on iTunes, I think the controversy around the song being removed from the Hot Country chart is actually giving the song some great exposure. The track is also the most added at Pop this week.

It's just how the business works for some artists..they release songs and see where they go. But considering that Drake is failing to sell arenas in Europe (3 shows in Paris and NONE was sold out, very poor ticket sales in Antwerp according to friend of mine who's going), people do get tired at some point.

Ariana is really over saturating herself. She can’t focus on one song for too long I see. I think what might really do her in is that all her songs are solo singles. As amazing a year as Post Malone had last year, really only 3 songs were pushed for most of the year: Psycho, Better Now and Sunflower and he found a way to space it all out. Drake puts out a lot of songs, but because a handful of them are features, it evens out. Same thing works for Cardi B. We aren't even done with the first quarter of 2019 and it already feels like Ariana's been pushing singles endlessly for a whole year.

Well, you have to consider the fact that Drake has been touring nonstop every year since 2012. He's literally toured every single year since 2012 and he toured in 2010, too. He's only taken one year off from touring since this decade started. I'm not surprised some shows didn't completely sell out (that might have more to do with how high the ticket prices were this time around (especially in Europe) than anything. There was some backlash at how high his ticket prices were when he announced the tour. He'll still pull major bank from each of those shows. He never grosses less than $1.4/$1.5 million per show, which is decent if you ask me. As for music, I'm already seeing people asking for new Drake music. Drake will be fine. He's managed to increase in popularity/success every year since '09. I'll trust that he knows what he's doing.

hopefully a major release is coming pretty soon, because the charts right now are just sooo weak. i feel like the same songs have been in the top 10 forever too. I'm sure the lead for AG6 is coming to save the charts soon, don't worry! My crystal ball has revealed the truth!

Looks like 7 Rings could have peaked in radio audience. I guess tomorrow's update will define that better for sure.

How is Eastside rebounding on radio? It was on its way out a week or two ago but now it's on pace to go radio #1.

Damn is "Please Me" going to suffer the same fate as "Finesse"?
Seemed like everyone was predicting it'd go #1, but it may stall at #3 instead and just fizzle out

I think Shallow can return to the top 5 at some point if it's airplay continue to grow since sales and streams seemed to have stabilized, since the songs ahead of it are either on it's way out or fizzling out.

IMO, the genre charts should be showing us the most popular songs in that particular genre's industry, not which songs in that genre (arbitrarily picked by Billboard) are the most popular. But how would you do this? Radio airplay is the only thing that you could specifically tie to a genre, but with more and more artists succeeding without radio ... I'm not sure that's a useful barometer for the "Hot" charts. Old Town Road up to #7 on iTunes, I think the controversy around the song being removed from the Hot Country chart is actually giving the song some great exposure. The track is also the most added at Pop this week. It's gotten mainstream coverage? To put it more accurately, the mainstream media kind of created a controversy. Old Town Road was actually removed from Hot Country Songs last week and no one said anything. Then, suddenly, Rolling Stone posted a piece this week suggesting removing the song may have had racist motivations. Other major publications piggybacked on the story, and it became a thing.
