If you consider Old Town Road to be a country song, this is (and correct me if I'm wrong here) the first time a black person has topped the Hot 100 with a country song since Ray Charles with "I Can't Stop Loving You" back in 1962.

If "Old Town Road" is #53 on Country Airplay then Billboard should absolutely have it re-enter Hot Country Songs at number one. They should let the genre charts decide what they consider part of their genre before determining that for them.

I almost agree with you but it charted almost solely from Bobby Bones spinning it on his show. It's being included on a country chart this week based on the decision of one person. If it catches on with other stations and the country industry accepts it then yes it should be on the other chart, but until then I don't think it has a place there. |

A better way is weekly positioning - weekly charts come out once a week - #2 is more popular than #3 for example
Year end charts come out once a year(yes I know it is discussed constantly here but not the same thing)
