This is a fantastic interview. She states toward the end that Sunshine Kitty will be released in September. Juan Carlos Wasn't sure if you wanted to put that in the thread title. :)

She did a Song Association with ELLE earlier this month
Also if you have somehow missed it, Glad He's Gone MV is out and easily one of the most creative videos of the year

We’re getting a new song tomorrow (which sounds great btw) and the album on Friday! This is going to be a hell of a week!
I hope I can grab a ticket for Manchester or any other European date that works for me.

Just finished listening to the album, I have to say the ordering of the tracks is great and there is a cohesive narrative that can be discerned The production is great throughout and her writing is like always, on point
My main problem with the album is that a lot of the songs on the second half feel too short and some of them lack a bridge entirely, such as Equally Lost & Anywhere You Go Also I think the last 2-3 songs on the record are a little weak sonically Equally Lost is especially short, barely going over 2 minutes long and it's suck cause it is a REALLY fun tropical bop that provides a good shift from the previous few tracks, also Doja Cat actually delivers which is such a shock.
Also, holy f**k MATEO is a moment, I think it's my #1 song off the record Come Undone, Are U Gonna Tell Her, and Stay Over are all really good too

^ Glad you liked “Mateo”. It’s one of the two Max Martin-assisted tracks and I’m curious to see how they work together. Tove has pretty much worked with the entire Max Martin clan but Max himself!
Today I’ve pretty much listened to the four (well five) pre-release tracks exclusively. Can’t wait to listen to the whole thing.

Today I’ve pretty much listened to the four (well five) pre-release tracks exclusively. Can’t wait to listen to the whole thing. Oh wow, I didn't even know Max was tied to the project But looking into it he produced Mateo and Equally Lost by the looks of things Which both songs deliver on the production, very interesting two cause those two songs are very different Mateo is the emotional moment of the record, Equally Lost is easily the most outright brighter and more positive song on the record Both are bops, though Equally Lost is way shorter than I wanted it to be I also love that Equally Lost transitions into Really Don't Like U, both are super fun. Also to my surprise, Jacques actually fits into the album and just wasn't slapped onto the album like most EDM/House collabs usually are. Like it fits perfectly cause it follows Stay Over and is before to Are U Gonna Tell Her

Good to know! I don’t like “Jacques” that much and it feels out of place with the songs we’ve heard so far so I’m excited to see how it fits into the album.
I’ve found that all of the songs are massive growers. I considered all of “Glad He’s Gone”, “Bad as the Boys” & “Really don’t like u” low key bland first listen but I’ve grown to love & play all of them on repeat. That’s way better than quick burn, “in your face” releases.

Bad as the Boys Equally Lost Are U gonna tell her? Really don't like you Come Undone Mistaken Glad He's Gone (here only because it's a bit burned out on me) Anywhere u goI think it's a very balanced album. I don't find any single song that's weak. I was even surprised to find myself liking the second half slightly more than the first half. Congrats Tove. You did it again

This is her best work since Queen of the Clouds IMO and is more listenable as a complete package than that one. Potentially her best album.

Another excellent album under her belt, she remains such an underrated queen. I agree with the previous posters, this reminds me a lot of QOTC. And I pretty much like every song on it (but that goes for all of her albums, she's never made a truly bad song IMO).
1) Glad He's Gone - I'm so happy I didn't play this out when it was released, as soon as it started, it still sounded so fresh to me. She knows how to write a song dammit. This and "Thinkin' Bout You" flopping at pop are the biggest injustices of the year, by far. 2) Bad As The Boys - Another low-key stunner. That hook gets stronger and stronger with each listen and the pre-chorus too. The bridge could definitely be beefed up some. ALMA fits seamlessly. 3) Sweettalk My Heart - Those opening notes are giving me straight 80's Madonna, I immediately thought of "Borderline." And that pre-chorus is INCREDIBLE. Like where is that even coming from? Love how the melody resurfaces at the end of the chorus and ties it all together. 4) Stay Over - In the lower half of the album for me so far, but that says quite a bit, because I like it a lot. The instrumental is a nice low-key groove and the chorus is giving me MJ for some reason. Love the bridge. 5) Are U Gonna Tell Her? - The instrumental is so good (especially that build up at the end) and so is the chorus. But I'm not big on the MC Zaac feature at all, he kind of sucks, this needs way more Tove on it. And the random "whoops!" in the background throw me off. 6) Jacques - This beat goes hard and I love the lyrics too. Vers top anthem! The pre-chorus is a little hokey though and I wish it had a bridge. But still a jam. 7) Mateo - Okay, Tove going a little Fatal Attraction, I'm here for it. The production is ace, so are the lyrics, love the bridge and how it builds to the last chorus. 8) Come Undone - Another low-key track, the chorus really takes off after repeated listens. And that random off-kilter piano at the bridge is a nice touch. 9) Equally Lost - WHY IS THIS SO SHORT? I'm such a sucker for any kind of island/tropical flavor. This needed another verse or a bridge and an outro. SOMETHING. But it's cute, could have been more though. 10) Really Don't Like You - Effortless. I feel like big name collabs fail so often because the artists try to go BIG. They took the opposite approach and went small and intimate. I love the story being told in this song and they sound so good together. Kylie's little adlibs and the outro, YES. This is low-key genius song-craft. 11) Shifted - One of the big surprises on the album for me. Love the instrumental, that touch of guitar is awesome. And the chorus kills, it's a whole vibe. Bridge is nice too. 12) Mistaken - Those big and chunky synths are awesome. I wish a bigger beat came in though. But this is great, love the verses and pre-chorus especially. That kazoo (or whatever) bridge was a choice, lol. I kinda dig it though? 13) Anywhere U Go - It's a solid album closer, the chorus and pre-chorus are great. Not one of my favs on the album though.

To me, she has the most untouchable album streak among pop stars in her generation.
Queen of the Clouds is the amazing body of work that has the world shook with the two biggest pop hits, while having underrated bops like "Moments". In Lady Wood she further established her musical identity by exploring the boundaries of female sexuality. Then there is Blue Lips that complements it with a similar sound yet deeply emotional and sentimental contents. Now Sunshine Kitty feels like she's looking back, reconstructing this whole journey in a witty and carefree way.

No lie. She's created a solid body of work. I was at my bestie's house last weekend for a dinner party and before it started, I was like "Alexa! Play Tove Lo!" and she ended up playing the entire night in the background. And every now and then throughout the night I would zone in on the playlist and was like DAMN, she has one great song after another. Like how many artists have released four solid albums this decade? It's gonna be a short list, I'll tell you that much.

Yes! I'm loving the hype :) (Pulse hype comes with low numbers but it's Tove so we weren't exactly expecting a 300k debut).
I have this album on repeat today. It still has to grow on me but I can see it being my favorite of the year.

5) Are U Gonna Tell Her? - The instrumental is so good (especially that build up at the end) and so is the chorus. But I'm not big on the MC Zaac feature at all, he kind of sucks, this needs way more Tove on it. And the random "whoops!" in the background throw me off. Ma'am, I feel the exact opposite. MC Zaac (I don't know who he is) is such a highlight. His verse makes this track extra naughty and convincing...I certainly would f**k him even if he has a boo.
