This is Arnold. I can't get in to the CHR/pop forum. It says I don't have permission to access this forum. From my profile all of my posts after last October is missing. If this is an April fools joke, I don't appreciate it. So at least let me know that this is temporary. I am angry and offended by this.

Ya, it's the Staff's idea of an April Fool's "prank".

I was shook up (upset) when I tried to get into CHR/POP, thinking I was somehow banned from Pulse forum, before I realized that this is April fools day. This April fools thing is not a good idea, because some people depend on this forum to get up to date charts, or because this is their place to be each day. If we're not gonna appreciate this joke, then why do it? Are you getting a thrill by upsetting people? By making them feel bad? That is evil. I didn't expect this to happen this year, because it wasn't done on the past 2 or 3 April fools days. I thought Pulse was finished doing it after all the complaining that members did. I'm wondering who's the actual person who did this?

Ha ha ha, that looks funny! But what does it have to do with my complaint?

Why are people so dramatic? I'm annoyed too, because I depend on various charts and info to update my ipod (which i planned on doing today), but it's just a joke, and a harmless one. We depend way too much on technology and take for granted being able to access anything we want anytime. The world isn't going to end due to us not being able to access some content on Pulse for a day. There are so many other things both online and offline one can do during their downtime.

It was literally one day. If something so minor and so temporary is that upsetting, you have an unhealthy addiction. If it was something that persisted, Iβm sure there are ways to contact the staff to inquire about the problem. Itβs an annoyance at best, but not one that warrants this type of reaction, especially now that itβs back to normal.

My old age is not of my control. I hate it. I am 75 years old because I was born in 1943, not because I hate clouds. Remember, you will be 75 years old too, someday, if you live long enough, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Yeah people need to understand that not EVERYONE was in on the joke and thought it was completely unnecessary. If you think otherwise then ignore the thread.

And when I donβt like something, I complain too. And I donβt like complaining. Nothing to do with age (from me at least).
But itβs done and back to normal now. All is good! βΊοΈ

I can understand that some were affected by the temporary hiding of those forums as the prank. It was perhaps a little less invasive than prior April Fools Day pranks like when many artist and song titles or specific words were altered in the system censors to display other things or if the text was too small or the colors were really strange. Of course, some are still traumatized by the hack that happened a few years ago and that was actually no laughing matter as it required a lot of effort to correct.
I was impacted by the prank in that I couldn't vote in the MM tournament until after the prank had been taken down but thankfully the submission period was extended,

That being said, enjoy the back-to-normal forum now! :)

LOL - we could just say not everyone was in love with the idea of the shutting down the forums for a day, unannounced - and leave it at that.

ArnoldYeah, I definitely don't think it was intended to mock your age but can definitely understand how it could be taken that way. I can't speak for everyone else but I very much enjoy and respect that you're part of this community, especially when most of the people here are in their teens and 20s (which is also younger than I am). April Fools has always been a tradition on Pulse going way back to its early years - quite possibly even within its first year. (It may have EVEN been inspired by the R&R boards because, let's be real, Pulse and originality didn't really go hand-in-hand...) so it's kind of something anyone who is familiar with this board expects and just kind of takes in stride. Most times it's inconvenient on varying levels but it always goes back to the normal by the next day (....unless something is wrong, which has happened at least twice). Please don't be upset and if anyone does make an unfair crack at your age, they're in the minority and we won't be kind with it.
