We have to take into account Billboard randomly changing rules so certain songs can climb higher. And I’m certain Billboard would want ME to jump to #1. I was thinking about this, but can't for the life of me think of a reasonable rule change that would get "ME!" to #1. A few ridiculous obviously-not-gonna happens ones i thought of: 1. "For one week only, the Hot 100 is all-female, to celebrate the badass women moving music forward." 2. "Remixes are now segregated by race, so OTR will be split into two chart entries." 3. "The chart is now based on four main components: radio airplay, sales, streaming, and desperation."

The real answer is to finally cash in the “We’ll be adjusting the streaming weights in 2019” card they seemingly never used while also changing the sales divider from 6 to like 4 or 3. If they want to keep the metric, it’s overdue for a buff seeing how much the market has shrunk since the last adjustment.

They could go the Japan Hot 100 route and add social media mentions of the song. Though I feel like if they did that, BTS could end up easily getting a #1.

Speaking of BTS, is "Boy with Luv" showing any signs of becoming an actual hit? I am now obsessed with that song.

^I guess it did rise in digital sales, but is still only #30 in iTunes. In the YT worldwide views over the last 24 hours it only swapped places with Kill This Love. The BBMAs performance will probably cushion its fall in the Hot 100.

So Taylor winning in sales and radio this week will be number two because she’s behind OTR in streams? 😭😅

Oh okay so she’s definitely losing even without the data of her bundles and new videos on YT. Damn I’m so sad

^The data was for 4/30. So, it obviously doesn't. The live performance was posted 17 hours ago and lyric video yesterday.

Taylor may not reach #1 but mad respect to her staying true to her pop sound. I mean she coulda gone trap and gotten an easy #1. So far this year we've got Trap Pop, Trap Country and Trap Soundtrack.

Honestly respect to her for pushing this hard for #1, after an era with no promotion and underwhelming chart success it’s cool to see Taylor actually wanting to get another #1.
It’s unfortunate she released right now with such a massive song at the top, I don’t think her team was expecting Old Town Road. ME! would have been #1 any week before Old Town Road.
I love OTR but I’m rooting for Taylor, because she’s pushing hard and because that 100-1 jump is gonna be iconic.

^ Billboard continues to track radio until Sunday so even with the 8th day effect tomorrow it should still be good, it has a healthy lead against OTR on iTunes, however I don’t know how long that’s gonna last. They are pretty neck and neck on Streaming as the original version of OTR continues to descend down Spotify. They are also neck and neck on YouTube, honestly it’s shaping up to be a pretty fair fight even though everyone initially thought Lil Nas X would be very far a head of her.

They aren't really neck and neck on streaming. OTR should get around 18-19m streams on spotify, while Me will get around 12-13m. OTR remix was #1 on AM all week long, while the original lingered around the bottom of the top 20. Me made it as far as #2 on release day, and it's been lingering from 10-8 for some days. OTR should get around 44m OD streams this week while Me should get around 24m. And OTR will be ahead of it in YT. If i would make any estimative of total streams, I'd say OTR will get around 100m, while Me will get around 60m.
