Do physical sales even count for the Hot 100? I remember High By The Beach debuted at #7 on the Hot 100 because it got a crazy amount of physical sales, but then Billboard revised it's rules and it debuted at 50-something instead That’s not what happened. An incorrect sales number was recorded, then revised. Physical sales do count. They helped Born this Way reach its sixth week #1 against ET back in 2011. And the Korean girl group Wonder Girls charted with Nobody mainly because of CD Single sales

Sucks that the timing. ME! could easily hit #1 during the weeks Shallow and Sucker did it.

If there was only the BRC version of OTR around, Me! would've jumped 100-1, but it is what it is. Great to see Taylor getting her 11th top 3 hit and Brendon his first.

Suge’s gains are damn impressive, really hoping it could potentially crack the Top 10 in the future

Nicki Minaj gets her vengeance from "Shake It Off" > "Anaconda" but in a way that still means SHE doesn't get a #1.

Yeah that's what I meant. She can only get her vengeance vicariously through a stan. Mariah's powers are real, Nicki's #1 shall never come.

Impressive that Louis Armstrong managed to get the Beatles off the top spot at last WHILE fending off a potential 4th consecutive #1 ("Do You Want to Know a Secret", which never made it there).

Billboard Top 10 Flashback: May 12, 201801 01 Nice For What - Drake (4th of 8 weeks at #1)02 05 Psycho - Post Malone feat. Ty Dolla $ign This is still the best race for #1 I've ever seen. Two great artists, two great songs and two songs that had the same strengths in its chart run (strong streaming + decent sales/airplay). In the end, NFW won in every metric by less than 500 points and remained at #1 with 42,300 vs. Psycho's 41,600. That was the first of four weeks where these songs competed point by point for #1 and in the second week it was the closest race for #1 of the last four years. The best Hot 100 "rivalry" of the decade! Sales: Nice For What 28k vs. 27k Psycho Radio: Nice For What 61.6M vs. 59.9M Psycho Streaming: Nice For What 48.5M vs. 47.8M Psycho

I didn't realize "Nice for What" was interrupted for 5 weeks (2 weeks by "This is America", 1 week by "Psycho", 1 week by "SAD!", and 1 week by "I Like It") during it's 8 week run at #1.

Who knows - maybe "ME!" will have a similar run to "Roar" and clinch #1 later in its run.
Roar also leaped "85-2" and was stuck behind the monster "Blurred Lines" for a few weeks before hitting #1.

Yup - Taylor still breaks a record this week for the largest jump ever. And there's only 1 way it can be broken, so safe to say she'll hold the record for a while.
