Nice, thanks! (and oh they paid for the hot country placement, smart move. With Luke being a great streamer - for country - it's a smart 1-2 punch)

It’s doing INCREDIBLE on Spotify so far. Damn. Not a huge fan of this (loved all of his other singles though), but there’s no denying this is going to be massive.

This is fine, totally sounds like a big lead single type of song to me. I like a lot of the production touches and that it still feels like him. I do think the production is a little loud at times, though not cluttered really. I'm not as big a fan as most are but this keeps him in my good graces and I'll probably like it more as it grows on me.

This'll probably debut Bubbling Under or super low. It's so weird how this one country artist managed to get these kind of numbers. I don't think anyone else could do it (Blake Shelton doesn't have the streaming). Shame it's not an artist (or song) I like more.

Yeah... nope
I like the first album for the most part but the rerelease and this are a big no from me. Dude is headed in the wrong direction. (Doesn't help that his live performances are a massive turnoff to anyone who has eyes)

I mean trust me I would’ve loved for him to have stayed independent. I think his quality would be a notch better - but at the same time his stuff now is normally a mix of mainstream and good. He’s doing everything right.
For every song that he has that might have some pop influences, there’s 2 country ones.

With Brett Young's "Here Tonight" going bye bye later tonight on Mediabase, this will debut at #24 for this weekend's Mediabase Country Chart. I am thinking a debut of #16 for tomorrow's Billboard Country Airplay chart.

I’m wondering if this could get the entire panel on this week... I think Carrie Underwood did it with “Smoke Break”, right?

This doesn’t show the actual add numbers this afternoon, usually between 3:00 and 3:30 pm EST. It gradually updates throughout the day. Luke will get a ton of adds, likely over 100. Luke won’t get the whole panel but he could come close.

This is a good song, but after hearing it everywhere this week, I think it's going to be a quick burner. People in my circle are already asking why we're hearing it repeatedly.

This is showing 147 adds today. Wow. That would be a record. Not quite the full panel (which is extremely hard to do).

Sorry for the double post: debuts at #12 on hot country songs And #68 on the Hot 100, with two days of sales and 5 days of airplay! Insane Not really? I mean it’s very good/impressive don’t get me wrong. But strategy seems to have shifted lately towards a dull sales week (releasing on Friday), but that means the initial hot 100 debut is based only on 3 days of radio & no sales/streams. Luke did more of an old school debut, so he got 5 days of airplay plus 2 days of sales/streams. Back when this used to be more common you’d see higher hot 100 debuts. For instance Miranda dripped Gice on a Monday night & debuted at #47 on the hot 100. Anyways the song is definitely off to a great start, but the hyperbole train (except at radio) is a bit much.

I feel like quoting a late Jerry Reed hit when referring to Luke Combs: When You're Hot, You're Hot. Combs is growing on me by leaps and bounds.

The thing is that if a country song is released on a Friday it most likely wouldn't debut on the Hot 100 until the following week, so to me it's impressive that this could debut so high. In addition, Miranda's debut is a different beast because it had a full week of airplay and 4 days of sales, as opposed to Luke Combs. But I guess I did get a little ahead of myself with this song's success so far, lol.
