Can you imagine being friends with her? It’ll be like walking on eggshells. They must be so exhausting, draining to be around. Every day is some new s**t with them. Everything seems to bother them, like if you sat next to them and were chewing gum minding your own business, THAT would trigger them. Someone like this reports to me at work, and it's absolutely exhausting to manage them.

SCOOT-ER... TAKE. THEIR. PHONE. AWAY. I think it's going to take me a while to get used to these plural pronouns. Every post I read here with they/them/their I have to pause for a while and wonder "their phone? Whose phone?"

They have set themselves up to be labeled a hypocrite everytime they do something that doesn't click with their position. Hopefully Demi gets the same grace she should've shown the small frozen yogurt shop
"Demi Lovato accidentally promotes diet culture after slamming frozen yogurt shop Lovato is in hot water with fans over a recent photo of the star holding a Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar-branded microphone By Chelsea Hirsch | New York Post
Pass the pop?
Demi Lovato is in hot water with fans over a recent photo of the star holding a Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar-branded microphone — just a month after the singer went to war with a frozen yogurt chain over its "triggering" sugar-free offerings.
One critic on Twitter — who did not use Lovato’s preferred they/them pronouns after the performer recently came out as nonbinary — pointed out that Lovato "sure is ok with attacking diet culture unless the diet culture lines her pockets" and encouraged their fans to "stop trying to defend an unhinged adult woman."
DEMI LOVATO WANTED TO 'QUIT' SOBRIETY AFTER BEING CALLED 'MORBIDLY OBESE' FOLLOWING 2018 OVERDOSE
Another chimed in, "Oh the irony…holding a microphone with Dr Pepper zero logo after she tried to destroy a frozen yogurt place for having sugar free options."
"Lol so NOW she can pose with a zero sugar drink?" another tweeted alongside the speak no evil and thinking face emojis.
Lovato was photographed holding the mic during an interview at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on May 27.
A rep for Lovato explained to Page Six on Wednesday that "Demi was doing a promotional stop for the awards show as a good partner to iHeart."
RADIO HOST TOLD TO STOP JOKING ABOUT DEMI LOVATO RETURNS AFTER WALKING OFF THE AIR
"They’ve apologized for comments made weeks ago and have moved on to focus on their cause work in the area of eating disorder awareness and Pride."
The "Cool for the Summer" singer, 28, is known for speaking out against diet culture and blasted a local Los Angeles-based frozen yogurt shop, The Bigg Chill, in April for carrying sugar-free varieties of their products, saying it was "triggering" while recovering from an eating disorder.
"Finding it extremely hard to order froyo from @thebiggchillofficial when you have to walk past tons of sugar free cookies/other diet foods before you get to the counter," Lovato wrote on their Instagram Story at the time. "Do better please."
The "Dancing With the Devil" documentary subject eventually apologized for their outbursts aimed at the shop after claiming to have been "gaslit" by the media over the snafu.
More recently, Lovato asked fans to stop complimenting them on any weight loss because it was a trigger.

The "Heart Attack" singer wrote, "Idk who needs to hear this but complimenting someone on their weight loss can be as harmful as complimenting someone on their weight gain in regards to talking to someone in recovery from an eating disorder."

I'm surprised "Met Him Last Night" hasn't seen a bigger push. Wasn't the music video already filmed?
However, if I were in the place of Demi and their team, I would focus on the Dave Audé remix instead of the original version. The reception has been pretty positive, and it only enhances the vibes of the song.

I'm worried about Demi's future. I am too tbh, at least in music. Demi's had a lot of getting-in-her-own-way moments, but I feel like that yogurt shop incident marked a point of no return that they're never going to recover from. The reaction to their gender identity reveal says everything...at a time when a 'coming out' is typically met with an embrace, over half the internet either yawned or outright said they didn't thought Demi was only seeking attention. Which...well yeah, everything Demi does is for attention, lol. But I worry about what will happen when they eventually stop getting it whether it be negative or positive. Hopefully one of their tv projects takes off. I feel like Demi would be better off working in that area of entertainment.

Yeah I would be curious to see how their sitcom at NBC pans out (“Hungry” I think it was called). If it is a hit with critics and viewers, that could really help with the GP’s perception of them. They were also a guest judge on HBO Max’s Legendary recently and I kind of enjoyed seeing them in that kind of role again as well.

They are still standing despite the multitude of controversies. I will be concerned, however, if their projects dry up after these current crop finish. There are a lot riding on these acting gigs because their management and label seem to be abandoning the album, much to my chagrin. I want the video for ‘Met Him Last Night’ at least.

I think Demi should stay away from entertainment for a while and come back stronger. Like Skyscraper and slay again.

I rolled my eyes hard when I saw they were the guest judge on Legendary but it was a good showing for them--seemed genuinely excited to be there and didn't step on any toes, which I feel like is especially easy to do in that particular environment.

I *love* Demi but omg they make it so hard. To think frozen yoghurt was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I do agree that they should focus on their TV projects right now. The reception to the music has been pretty bad, aside from the decent opening week of the album. The Ariana collab faded away quickly. And they have been on the news mostly for bad reasons lately.

I still don't understand how they're going to have a TV series dealing with eating disorders especially not long after the yogurt incident. I just know people are going to use that against them if the TV series actually comes to fruition.

...because capitalism is evil enough to prey on their ED among all other mental struggles. Demi brings headlines and controversies and that's what money follows. This is why I have zero interest in streaming any of those projects aside from their music.

Gave the album another listen today and it's a solid effort. There are some songs that deserve to have a single treatment but i agree with people who say they need to take a break from entertainment business and come back harder with new music (and without controversy hopefully).

I love this album so much, it's excellent. (It's actually the first album I've bought since 'Confident' - and I've bought it twice. In hindsight, not sure why I don't own TMYLM, I will buy it at some point)
They (and by they, I mean the label, probably) were dumb for pulling "Dancing with the Devil" from pop radio after only 1 week ... what was the rush? They should have let it finish organically and then release MHLN (no one releases 2 pop radio singles 2 weeks in a row lmao, wtf is that)
