Delusional Demi is STILL talking about the f**kin' froyo. Demi Lovato Says Their Message amid Frozen Yogurt Controversy Got 'Lost in Translation': 'I'm Still Learning' The singer, 28, opened up about using their platform to try to spread awareness about causes they're passionate about - and how the message doesn't always land the way it's intended to - during an Audacy Check In on Facebook Live on Thursday. "Every time I've made a statement over Instagram or Twitter, I felt like it's gotten lost in translation a little bit," they admitted. "When I messaged this froyo place, originally I wanted to make a point, and I wanted to call out behaviors or branding things that didn't sit right with me," they said. "As someone who deals with an eating disorder and is in recovery from an eating disorder, I still to this day have a hard time walking into a froyo shop, ordering yogurt and being content with it and keeping it down." The Grammy nominee went on to explain that while they were in the store, it "wasn't clear" to them that all of the "diet" and "health food" options were "for specific health needs." "I didn't know that," they said. "Because it wasn't clear, I definitely jumped to conclusions and probably shouldn't have gone about this the way that I have, but I'm willing to talk to this froyo shop to help get the messaging right." x1 They also said that they're open to working with the frozen yogurt shop "to help align the messaging to where I feel safe going in there and I can eat the froyo that I went there for." x2 people.com/music/demi-lovato-says-their-message-amid-frozen-yogurt-controversy-got-lost-in-translation/

Demi is too real for Hollywood. They're not afraid to be passionate, emotional, and even impulsive. Most people are these things anyway, so why should Demi suppress themselves? That would be fake. Plus, the rest of Hollywood isn't an open book like Demi. I have so much respect for Demi for all that (in addition to their talent). Love how they open up to their fans so much. And queen of obsessed haters!

LOL. No one is perfect, but I also don't know how many people have made this many fuckups in this short timespan, while continuing to push a victim narrative.

Imagine calling someone who has the impressive consistency of having an unbroken 7 consecutive album debut with 70k+ in the US streak "a dead career" when you're literally an unknown bitter flop on a forum, lmao.
Absolutely no popgirl has more pressed haters than Demi, and I love that.

Now they just look like they're stuck on the topic when everyone else has moved on. (Probable actual reality is that they were having a bad day and would gain far more understanding, if not necessarily sympathy, if they kept it a buck and admitted that they have a personality disorder that still hasn't been entirely figured out, and there are some days where their reactions will be wildly out of line with normal behavior so please bear with them as they try to work it out still.) I still root for Demi to find a good normal.

The bigger issue is the wild narcissism - how lucky the froyo shop would be to work with them to get the messaging “right” so that Demi would feel supported to enter the froyo shop. Because the only thing that matters is Demi and how they perceive things.

I hate that the FIRST thing they thought of when replying to that fan’s message was “fat shaming”. That says a lot about where Demi is mentally right now. Always on the defensive.

Yeah I was literally cringing reading that-like, they are benevolently offering to help correct the froyo shop and they should feel blessed and lucky about that. Also, they suggested putting actual medical conditions on the bakery items since, you know, everyone should just disclose their medical history so Demi can feel safe at all times. I know they are really unwell so I wish they would just take a few years off and get in a better place. Then come back with something epic. I know that modern careers often don't last a few year break though.

Their idealistic safe space is so detached from reality (and everyone else's interests) that I'm surprised more people aren't clowning on them. With their impressive unbroken string of 7 consecutive 70k opening weeks, we know people are paying attention. The only reason I'm hesitant to give them too hard a time for this is because of the neurological damage they have from the ODs (at least I think that's what caused them). I think @antigonerising said something similar a while ago, but Demi probably isn't cut out for the spotlight and I wish they would take a cue from Zayn Malik and focus on themselves. Make time to do what they love (music), but they don't need to be that visible to do it. That's not in Scooter's best interest though, so... not happening.

I am not a medical professional so please don't misconstrue this as me playing doctor though!)

I don’t know if Demi was being outrightly defensive in that instance or just being sober-minded. They receive heaps of shame, hate, and derogatory humor on a daily basis due to their eating disorder, substance abuse, and sexual orientation. It’s very possible that they were just curious and responding forthrightly. They tried to be jocular and pleasant in their response too even if she questioned whether it was fat shaming or not. It can be very stressful to live so publicly, especially the way they do bearing all those issues in tow.

Has anybody listened to the spatial audio (Dolby Atmos) of Dancing With The Devil? Whoever mixed it clearly hates Demi 😂

I absolutely love Demi's music and voice but... they are exhausting.
Really not sure they were ready to be back in the spotlight yet.

People say Demi should take some time from music but wasn't Demi's last album like 4 years ago? Actually I don't think time away from music would work as much as time away from social media and interviews. But I don't think that's happening.

They should take time away from social media and public eye and concentrate on themselves, to heal better.

On a career tip, the way that this entire era has been handled has been a mess, so I don't think Scooter is as much of a genius as some people think. Some of it was Demi, but the roll out was just a disaster.
I LOVE Dancing with the Devil the song, but as soon as I saw that video I just knew this era would be a hot mess.

To be fair, though, it seems there has been something wrong with Scooter's handling of his artists since at least late March. - The bonus tracks from "Justice" (including high-profile collaborations with DaBaby and Lil Uzi Vert) made zero noise and didn't even chart on the Bubbling Under (for comparison, Ariana's "test drive" early this year was able to get a solid top 70 debut) - "Dancing With The Devil" had a shockingly low placement on New Music Friday and Today's Top Hits, which seemed odd for Demi's comeback single. And despite Scooter infamously replying to a fan he was working on getting it higher, nothing happened. - Justin surprise-released an EP in early April. No playlist placements whatsoever, no debuts on Spotify, and the EP only debuted at #172. You'd imagine Scooter would want to promote his client to get a more respectable placement, even if it was just a passion project for Bieber. - "pov" is pushed on radio in mid-April. We're in late June, and it's still nowhere to be found on Today's Top Hits (only "34+35" at the very bottom), so its streaming performance is embarrasingly awful. No music video in sight either, and the closest we've got was a performance video (and even that wasn't enough for a re-entry on the Spotify 200) - froyo gate - Scooter or his team didn't intervene by pushing discounts or anything to distract from the controversy. In a similar note, how did he allow Bieber to sport dreadlocks again? How come nobody in his PR team intervened during that mess, which kept getting worse with each subsequent selfie? - Finally, the atrocious handling of Demi's current single - "Met Him Last Night". Really, just having Ariana on the track should be enough to give it a respectable radio performance, not to mention the natural hype from a music video. Yet nothing - nada. Just some observations I noticed which seem very unusual from Scooter's usual promotion and management tactics. Some say the current lawsuit he's facing might be playing a role, or even that he's struggling financially, but we'll have to wait for further confirmation.
