I honestly think Jordan is gonna take Billboard but that’s just my opinion. This looks like it’s gonna get 2 weeks at #1 after Jordan though. i really hope "I Hope" will "catch" up with this song because this song is such a non-event... |

Looking at Brett Young's discography today was interesting. I think we all may be able to agree this is the most non-hit single he's released... Yet, it is, so far, his 3rd highest charting single on the Hot 100, while also his only song to not reach the top 3 on Hot Country songs (currently #7). Of course, this could all change next week when it actually peaks, but really interesting in that way.
Also, this is going to be his 5th #1 song in a row. Had "Sleep Without You" not choked last second, he would be up there with Luke Combs for most back-to-back #1s since his debut. I like Brett Young and think he is talented, and I'm glad radio is still treating him well, but the comparison of Luke and Brett's sophomore albums really shows the difference between launching an artist into A-level and ... well... not.

After five straight singles that peaked at either #2 or #3 on the Hot Country Songs chart, this one looks like it might not even reach the top 10 there. Possibly his lowest on the Hot 100 too as its only reached #61 so far and all his other hits made the top 50 there. Definitely unfortunate that this one didn't perform better for him. I hope if "Don't Wanna Write This Song" is still the plan for the next single that it reinvigorates his commercial draw. It has some of the highest streaming numbers for anything else on the album, aside from "Chapters." Well this observation got dashed with a quickness.  Obviously this one hitting the top 40 of the Hot 100 right now and out-peaking all his other much bigger hits (except for "In Case You Didn't Know" and "Mercy" that really smashed) is just a product of how album bombs have been affecting the charts lately, which I forgot to consider. I love this song and Brett Young, so even though "Catch" hasn't exactly lit the charts on fire, I'm glad this was still a hit with country radio and hope that his momentum will pick back up with whatever he releases next. |

In one prediction I saw in the Hot 100 thread (I don't recommend going there  ) this could be as high as #29 tomorrow, which is pretty ridiculous lol. "Catch" normally probably wouldn't even crack the top 50 and here it is possibly matching the peak of "Mercy" |

Congrats Brett! I love this song (where's the man who wants to sing this to me lol) and I'm so glad it went to #1! I'm also ecstatic it hit Top 40 on the Hot 100 (album bomb or no)
