2 Country songs in top 20, and some of y'all swore streaming era would kill Country lol. It's actually been faring fine, and I noticed almost every Country album now gets more streaming units than sales. Yeah, but other genres gets MUCH more streaming units than sales. Country and sales just go together. In sales chart history, country has 2 out of top 4 songs with most weeks in top 10: Body Like a Back Road at 29 weeks, Meant to Be at 30 weeks. OT Road can easily reach that, then country would have 3 out of top 5. In Hot 100, it’s not even close to that dominance. |

"OTR" barely declining in streams is impressive/crazy. The official video didn't really do much for it, relatively, as it didn't need it. I just can't believe so many people are still doing memes to it.

I'm not usually the first to say these kind of things (and hopefully wrong here) but there's nothing that can prevent OTR getting the record number of weeks at #1. People don't suddenly stop watching the memes.

^Regarding OTR, what percent is even memes at this point anyway? Airplay and sales are both huge, and I'm guessing the majority of streaming is actually the original/remix or the video as opposed to just memes. This song is just an insane monster.
Does anyone have its week-by-week ratio over the #2 song?
(Also, it's fascinating to me that if it wasn't for OTR, this year would by far have the fastest #1 turnover and highest proportion of pop #1s than we've seen in probably a decade.)

People don't suddenly stop watching the memes. Nothing currently on the chart will overtake it, but that doesn't mean something new isn't going to come out of nowhere to stop "OTR" from the record. Who saw "Old Town Road" coming, for instance? Or "Despacito" when it leaped to #1? Or "See You Again" when it looked like "Uptown Funk" might get the record? The point is, we never know what's on the horizon. |

^ Yeah, that's true. The current #1 on Country, "Whiskey Glasses" by Morgan Wallen has 56.3 AI while the current #1 on Alt, "Trampoline" by SHAED, has 10.9 AI.
Tbh almost none of the songs that hit #1 on Alt reached the Hot 100 this year, with "bury a friend" being the only exception. This only gets more shockier when you notice seven songs (IIRC) reached the #1 spot on Alt this year and only one managed to chart on Hot 100.

Drake and Future are releasing sometimes soon but considering that the highest peaking song from their previous project reached #12, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm still convinced that we haven't heard the next #1 song yet. Old Town Road is still so far ahead in points from #2 and it's falling at a snail's pace. Bad Guy and Talk would both have to hold out strong for probably another 3-4 weeks (at least) to even be any competition for Old Town Road.
