Wouldn't be surprised if this starts falling like a rock in a week or so.

It's been doing fine for a while now. It has served its purpose. Oh yeah for sure. It didn't completely fall off after initial release and they're able to still keep it kicking around in time for the album release. If it dies this weekend, no problem! Actually on my currents only year-to-date formula I publish weekly in the top 50 thread, this has almost matched ME! total for the year and that one peaked higher! Both are inside the top 30 as of this week. ME! at #24, this at #30. Not too bad at all!

How did you get that from that post??? lol I think he means a 3rd singe will come with the album and will feed off the album release and "You Need To Calm Down" did a good job ushering in the album.. ( now here I am jumping to conclusions). I doubt a chart watcher like Austin would be saying Taylor had a surefire num.1 hit coming on Friday. lol Actually I take that back and maybe he did say there's a possibility she could get a num.1 hit if she gets a deal/video etc etc. (staying out of this..lol)

You know I was a little worried about single performance going forward, but after hearing the album, she has a plethora of smashes, songs much more immediate than these two to pick from going forward. =)
If it were up to me it would be:
3.) "Cruel Summer" 4.) "Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince"
And quite a few potential single 5s.

Imagine if she'd performed the song somewhere sooner!
Prime Day concert doesn't count.

Cruel Summer is destined to be a pop radio and hot 100 #1. I just can’t accept any other outcome for that masterpiece. Tell me there is a deal, video, performance, all coming tomorrow.

So your convinced that Taylor has a mega #1 smash hit on the album that we will hear for the first time on Friday? Ok we will see. This has absolutely nothing to do with the post you quoted, but you seem confused, so I'll help you out. Am I convinced of etc. etc.? No, I am not, and I have stated anything that even alludes to that. There have been rumors flying around for weeks that Taylor was going to drop a new single the same day as the album in the same fashion that Ariana Grande did with "break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored," with many speculating that it would be a track called "Cruel Summer." Any post that I have made based off of that rumor has said if that happens, she has a good shot at taking the #1 on the Hot 100 that week because the points needed to be #1 right now aren't significantly high. Both "ME!" and "You Need to Calm Down" had more points when they were #2 than the current #1 has. My posts would also go on to say that it could be possible the track could click and stick around awhile if all the above were to happen. However, I am not convinced that these things will happen. This is all speculation based on rumors that have yet to be proven true. Any post I have made has been saying things like "if," "possibly," and "could," not "will," "definitely," and "should." For all we know, they could be planning to push "Lover" or something completely different in the coming weeks.

well we're on album week now so prepare for that bullet rebound. Considering there's apparently no third pop single yet, I guess it's fine.

If she performs this at the VMA's, I might riot.
I'll allow a medley that leads into a full performance of Cruel Summer... but that's it.

The rebound is fine for album release week but I hope this dies next Monday. Move onto Cruel Summer NOW!

Lover video is an indication that this will be the next single. Not at all. There has been songs that received videos solely for promotional purposes. They were referring to the "Lover" video containing lyrics to "Cruel Summer", further hinting (after its inclusion in the "You Need To Calm Down" video) that it will be released next.

This is funny that I have never heard this song in full until today. Tells m how I feel about this song lol. I heard it in bits but not in full. It's was okay when I first heard and still is the same way for me. Ironically the weakest songs on the album with... well Me!.

I misread it, thanks! But I’m not too convinced it will be the next single anyways. The Man is being pushed on literally every playlist on Spotify and Apple Music including TTH.
