Lolwut even is this outcome? I love "Wings" (the top 2 was my top 2, just in reverse order)... but this is literally the wrong outcome. The song that almost wins her singles RD loses to a song that even previously placed lower than the single that came in third in this? What a mess.  |

I understand that Breathe is a popular song, so no surprises there, but If My Heart Had Wings??? If asked about popular opinion before this rankdown, I would have guess it would be around 9 or so. It's a pleasant song, but doesn't deserve to win this! Of course several people disagree, and it's fine. I just don't know how come That's How Love Moves is stuck so low and these two songs managed to be the top 2 :/

I was quite shocked at the outcome too, but I am not at all upset about it! The fact that "If My Heart Had Wings" was at #1 for pretty much the entire submission process adds a lot of legitimacy to the results in my eyes; it's not like it only got there at the last minute due to some random person tanking a song that otherwise would have been #1. The thing that is weird about this album is that the singles are pretty much all career-defining hits for Faith, except for "If My Heart Had Wings". But with their career-defining status comes a lot of overplay, and mixed opinions for a variety of reasons. It appears that in this case, the result was the less-overplayed hit being able to obtain a commanding lead. The funny thing is, @xfer was really the only extreme tanker of this top 2, yet he tanked them both almost equally, so in the end they both just kinda cancelled each other out  If he had tanked one but not the other, that could have potentially given us a different outcome (accordingly, the "Breathe" fans can probably get their pitchforks out for KanenrĂĄ:ke , who DID tank one of the songs but not the other, and it DID make all the difference! Lol! Pretty much everyone else had both songs in their top 5, so didn't really create a whole lot of movement either way for either song.) |

There are some incredible songs on that album though ("It Matters To Me", "You Can't Lose Me", "Someone Else's Dream", "Let's Go To Vegas", and "I Can't Do That Anymore").
Also for Extras we have the Greatest Hits singles "Lost" and "Red Umbrella", plus songs like "There You'll Be", "Sleeping With The Telephone", "Come Home", "American Heart", "Why", "Keep Your Eyes On Me", "Part Of Your World", and "When You Cry"! That'll be a fun one to do!

WaitâŠwhat just happened?! That was quite an unexpected outcome as Iâd surmise that most of us were thinking that the song âBreatheâ was easily going to win this, especially considering it came in second in her artist rankdown. That said, I know that âIf My Heart Had Wingsâ has always received a lot of love from Pulse and I also agree that it likely benefited from being not one of the overplayed singles from the album. Speaking of overplayed, âThe Way You Love Meâ is a song that I often find hard to even listen to nowadays because Iâve heard it so much over the years. I did have to kind of set aside that train of thought when ranking the songs, however, and this still managed to make it into my top five. I donât quite get all the adoration for âWhatâs In It For Meâ because Iâve never considered this a standout album track. I was really hoping to see either âI Got My Babyâ or even âThere Will Come A Dayâ come out ahead. Thisâll likely be somewhere down near the bottom of my list for the album tracks rankdown so just letting yâall know ahead of time lol. As you can see, I am opening up submissions for both the It Matters To Me and Extras rankdowns at the same time. Basically in the interest of not drawing things out too long due to the fairly significant rankdown backlog right now, I want to really prioritize getting this series finished up so that is one less thing for y'all to worry about  It Matters To Me is a short album, so it will be due in early April, and the Extras rankdown will be due 2 weeks after that, closer to mid-April. You are welcome to start working on both though! |

It Matters to Me is probably her best album after Fireflies for me, and it's a close second. Immaculate set of songs. My least favorite on this one is probably better than my like bottom 4 or 5 on Breathe, lol. Also excited to rank all those extras! Lots of great songs in there, too.

Wow! I am so glad "If My Heart Had Wings" won, but I really didn't think it stood a chance. What a great outcome!
Definitely looking forward to ranking It Matters To Me (and the extras). IMTM was one of the first country albums I ever owned. I love it, and it holds such nostalgia for me.

After a quick listen, I feel like the correct song won. "If My Heart Had Wings" is a really good song with nice melodies (the chorus sounds too much like "Beautiful Crazy", I hope Luke sent her a check).
I'm gonna try to send for It Matters To Me but I'm definitely skipping the extras :kii:
