I just never cared for Steel Magnolia.
Add me to the list of people who had no idea Chris Janson had any music before "Better I Don't." "Til A Woman Comes Along" just isn't very good, melodically it's kind of a clunker. It's not awful, but also not something I'd be revisiting on my own.

I like his Bigger Picture singles the best (especially "Cut Me Some Slack"), but I've always enjoyed this one as well. His twang is a bit harsh, but I love the production and melody.

#74. Love and Theft - "Dancing In Circles"

It was released in late November of 2009 and reached #24 on Mediabase in April of 2010. The song was written by Stephen Barker Liles, Robert Ellis Orrall and Roger Springer. Orrall and Springer have written many country hits.
"Dancing in Circles" would be Love and Theft's final single for Lyric Street and final single as a trio -- Brian Bandas left the group in 2011.
The writing on "Dancing in Circles" is really good. Maybe it's a bit Hallmark-y for some but I think the way it's written is totally believable and this is the best I've ever heard their harmonies.

The song actually reached #1 on Mediabase the last week of 2010 but there was no published chart that week. It peaked at #2 on Billboard. The song was written entirely by Brantley Gilbert.
This song has some pretty cool guitar work and is certainly catchy but its lyrics are pedestrian and the production at the time was far from country. It's not terrible, I like it, but it's nowhere near the best 2010 had to offer.

Signed to Mercury Nashville, it was released to radio in January of 2010 and impacted in February. The song peaked at #31 in May. It was written by Bundy, Jeff Cohen and Mike Shimshack. Shimshack produced the track. It was off her debut album, Achin' and Shakin'.
Bundy charted once more with "Drop on By" off the album. She later released the singles "That's What Angels Do" and "Two Step" off BMLG. "Kentucky Dirty" was a promotional single as well.
I absolutely hated this when it came out. I legitimately thought it was a parody release. After a while I grew to find it somewhat amusing and I have to admit, It's quite catchy lol. Overall though, it can be extremely grating and was destined to be polarizing at radio.
Also, I imagine most people know this by now, but in case you don't, Laura Bell Bundy played young Sarah Whittle in the original Jumanji movie.

#70. Kevin Fowler - "Pound Sign (#?*!)"
Total Points: 1,073 Average: 67.0 Year Released: April 8th, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #32 Billboard Peak: #34 Rankings:George Strait Junkie - 17 Kanenrá:ke - 19 LBTrocks - 27 sabre14 - 29 kw9461 - 33 ClevelandRox - 43 someguy - 63 tim - 69 gardyfan - 72 recordyear - 80 toomuchboy - 85 .indulgecountry - 92 bboat11 - 97 Cody Wants Out... - 113 castleoblivion26 - 117 g8erboi - 117 Following: Mylo13 💜"Pound Sign (#?*!)" was released in April of 2010 as the first and only single for Kevin Fowler off Lyric Street Records. The song peaked at #32 on Mediabase in late July. The reason it died at radio was because Lyric Street folded that summer. Bigger Picture briefly picked up promotion on the song but it was too late. The song likely would have reached the top 20-25 if not Disney shuttering Lyric Street.
Kevin Fowler released three albums from the late 90's to the early 2000's in Texas before signing with Clint Black's label, Equity Music Group in 2004 (Little Big Town, Carolina Rain). Equity didn't actively promote Kevin's music nationwide, however. He charted twice with Equity ("Ain't Drinkin' Anymore", "Best Mistake I Ever Made"). Kevin charted once more with Average Joes Entertainment in 2011 with 'That Girl." Since then, Kevin has self-released his albums as a Texas-based artist.
I love "Pound Sign." It's just hilarious and a clever song idea. Very relatable, too. It was just bad luck what happened with Lyric Street.

“Giddy On Up” is amazing, apparently y’all don’t appreciate its country western musical theatre gloriousness. It’s fantastic on every level. Ridiculous that it is out so soon!!!
“How Far Do You Wanna Go” on the other hand is absolutely atrocious, hands down their worst song. What a bunch of chattering grating noise. Horrid.

Oh yeah, and I love “Pound Sign”” too. I love the country ‘swing’ the song has and the lyrics are actually quite unique, clever, and fun.

Knew Giddy On Up would be eliminated soon. Honestly surprised it ended up this high. This feels like a bad 80s Dolly Parton parody but it is prime Dolly Parton years so I am good lol Very energetic performance in How Far Do You Wanna Go?, which most of the songs in this rankdown lack. The writing in Pound Sign (#?*!) wears off too fast for me. Thought it would be more interesting than singing punctuation marks (sad face)

It was also the first single with EYB on the Republic Nashville imprint -- which is a reason they went a couple months between "Radio Waves" and "Guinevere" at radio.
Great song. I remember being thrilled they went with it as a single, so long after "Radio Waves" peaked. I loved all four singles off this record and it's what sold me on EYB. This one should've done better at radio and I can't believe this had +100 rankings...

I don't know if it was the best choice for radio, but I'm still thrilled that they released "Guinevere". Still my favorite EYB single. Great imagery in the lyrics, probably Mike Eli's best vocal performance, and I love the chorus melody. Deserved better.

The song reached #1 in December of 2010. It was written by Jimmy Yeary, Tom Shapiro and Neil Thrasher. It was also the group's first single for Big Machine Records after a decade with Lyric Street.
The music video parodies The Hangover movie and stars David Arquette, along with cameos from Ron White, Wayne Newton, Penn & Teller, Victoria Justice, Carrot Top and Rick Harrison (Pawn Stars).
Other than "Why", Rascal Flatts' singles weren't very good in 2009-2010 but this one won be back over. It was a step back into their countrier sounding days and I love the melody. It's not a deep song but it was never supposed to be. The Hangover has come out the year prior, so crafting a video around this song made all the sense in the world, and the star power was cool to see.

“Why Wait” ain’t one of RF’s worst songs but I definitely don’t care for it, and the vocals are awful for me as usual.

I love George -- he's one of my all-time favorite artists...but "The Breath You Take" was sooo sloow. There's ballads out there I adore but this is one that's just way too slow for me to buy in. The lyrics are sweet and Strait's voice sounds good but this song got old by the time it hit the top 20 and I had to endure it another 2-3 months on the chart lol.

This was right there for the most polarizing song in the rankdown. Four top 10's; seven top 30's; seven 100 rankings.
This song doesn't do anything for me. The melody is mildly interesting but the lyrics and title are boring. I think the next four singles from the album were far better.

I think you accidentally punched me in twice. I love the lyrics for this one. I always thought a remix or something with a male artist coming in at the end after all the noise stops following "You said," and singing the chorus there before all the noise comes back in would be really nice.

Saddened by a King George song being done so dirty
Don’t like Jamey Johnson’s vocals but that song wasn’t bad.
“Mine” is terrible. Generic, boring, icky melody and an even worse vocal performance from Miss ‘Can’t Sing’ Swift. Glad it’s out earlier than I was expecting.

Lots of catching up here lol
126 (126). "Top Down" being out first is not surprising at all. I actually liked "Make It Rain" from them.
125 (112). "Hold That Thought" is sooo boring, I remember thinking Chuck would make it big in the industry but I think this song killed any chance he had really.
124 (110). "Soldiers & Jesus" maybe could've worked, but it just came off way too pandering to ever really hit right for me.
123 (118). "I Will Not Say Goodbye" is dreadful, but so is practically everything Gokey did.
122 (113). "My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me" is marginally better than his other song but it's still ruined by his vocals. I hated his vocals and his personality. I always wondered if I would've enjoyed this better by someone else.
121 (121). "Still A Little Chicken Left On That Bone" is so over sung that I couldn't let the song ever grow on me any, not that I think there's much here to like anyway.
120 (109). "Whistlin' Dixie" suffers the same thing that Craig's song does. Over sung to the point it takes away from anything that I might've enjoyed about the song. I do think there's a decent song in this one though, thus my higher rank.
119 (39). I wasn't ready for "Tell Your Sister I'm Single" to leave yet, it's so fun to me. I remember hearing it and knowing how young he was just made it hilarious to me. Still an odd single choice given how much I liked his album. Wish he had got another chance but given he's come out as gay I do wonder how long he would've got anyway.
118 (104). "Country Livin'" is their weakest single imo. Having said so I wouldn't have minded seeing this climb a bit higher than even my ranking as it's pretty inoffensive. I underranked slightly.
117 (115). "Ready For Love" is horrible and I'm happy it seemed to kill off his interest in a U.S. career, nobody who thought this was a good choice deserved to break out.
116 (116). "Here Comes Summer" isn't the worst single they've done but it's far from good. There's nothing interesting here even for something that was just meant to be fun.
115 (111). John Rich is so hit or miss with me. "Country Done Come To Town" was way too try hard for me.
114 (105). Not horrible, but so cliche and forgettable it probably would've done better had it been worse, at least it would've stuck out.
113 (122). "Backwoods" is the song I show people to point out the worst of this era, Justing can be good but a lot of his early hits were so much garbage.
112 (83). "Free" isn't the most interesting song, kinda blends into the background, but I find it has just enough spark for me to enjoy it.
111 (100). I always had flip-floppy feelings for "Pants". Sometimes I find myself enjoying the song, even ignoring how much the the hook bothers me. Other times I find it just as bad as his new material.
110 (70). I can listen to Alan sing some really boring stuff and just his voice and the production can carry it for me. This is one of those, a head scratching single as a lead, but still has that Jackson smoothness I really enjoy.
109 (124). Quite possibly the worst album era by any artist for me during my time following music, "Unstoppable" is truly horrendous.
108 (103). A mostly harmless song that gets bogged down by how bad Rodney sounds on it. "Farmer's Daughter" could've been saved by a different artist singing it.
107 (76). "Hillbilly Bone" may have came around the time I started losing interest in Blake, but it's a fun throw away ditty.
106 (108). Troy Olsen the artist wasn't all that interesting, I didn't see what he brought to the table, but starting his career with such fluff as "Summer Thing" may have been part of the problem.
105 (94). "That's How Country Boys Roll" was already very cliche when it came out, but Billy's energy and vocal saves this one a bit for me.
104 (120). I think everybody here knows how much I hate Kenny, and "The Boys Of Fall" is boring and grating even for him.
103 (71). "Hard Hat And A Hammer" has more energy than the lead single, but it pales in comparison to so much Alan had done in the past that makes it unnecessary.
102 (40). I love how this song builds and Joshua's vocals on it in particular. I know it's cheesy as well but I've always been able to look past it on this one because of how much I enjoy the vocals.
101 (95). "Trailerhood" gets a pass from my bottom 26 because Toby is able to sell this kind of fluff.
100 (119). Maybe my rank of "How I Got To Be This Way" is a little harsh because this song isn't as bad as some of his other singles, but just my general distain for him from this time has colored my view of this single.
99 (68). Ok this one is the first big surprise for me. Bucky was never great for me, but this was easily my favorite from him and I'm surprised it wasn't able to get higher.
98. (77). Most of Uncle Kracker's songs do nothing for me, but "Smile" is undeniably catchy and I can't help putting it as high as I did.
97 (53). Sarah's "In The Mean Time" was such a cool little story given she was unsigned, I remember thinking she sounded good enough that maybe a label would take a chance on her.
96 (96). "There Is A God" remains Lee Ann's worst single but her vocal lifts it from the absolute bottom of my list.
95 (72). "Chillin'" is also Blaine's worst single, but it's still catchy and he elevates the material way past where it should be.
94 (26). Totally get how some may find "Sunshine" boring or sleepy, but I find it soothing, Azar has always been underrated for me.
93 (85). "Rollin' Through The Sunshine" is so catchy, and they don't sound bad here, I would've liked to see this actually hit for them.
92 (102). "All About Tonight" marked the first time I felt like Blake was phoning it in. It's not horrible but it's got nothing that makes it essential listening, sadly this was not his low point.
91 (99). I'm surprised this one survived my bottom 26, but Toby's personality is the only one I could see pulling this off and I had to give it some credit there.
90 (101). "Beer On The Table" I actually remember the day it was released, I remember thinking he'd have a huge hit with this one, years later I still am shocked it wasn't a bigger hit.
89 (27). I get where Jewel can be a bit polarizing, but I feel like "Stay Here Forever" avoids most of what people tend to criticizes her for. Love this one!
88 (74). Ah the disappearing act that was Houston County, I never did hear another single from them after "I Can't Make It Rain".
87 (69). Ash's other singles was meh and horrible, but "Ain't No Stopping Her Now" was really strong. I love the melody of this one.
86 (60). "This Ain't No Love Song" started out boring for me, but as it climbed the chart I liked it more and more. Eventually I came to quite like it, but get why it's out where it is.
85 (62). "The Call" would've been a smash by practically anybody else, such a fantastic song that unfortunately had a vocalist who wasn't ever going to really break out. I don't personally mind his vocals but totally get people not caring for them.
84 (97). James' voice saved this a bit, but it felt almost awkward, like it doesn't fully fit him.
83 (75). Their worst single from their 2 albums, but it's still catchy and I like Kimberly's voice here. It did have to grow on me a lot though, I remember not caring for it when it was out.
82 (78). I loved most of Bomshel's output and this isn't bad at all, but it felt a bit undercooked. Most of their other songs would be a lot higher than this in this year.
81 (123). Jason at his worst, there's an idea in this song that has worked before but the melody, production and vocals ruin anything the lyrics were trying to get to.
80 (50). "Jenny" was such a welcome song when it was released, I thought they'd be scoring hits because how much I liked this one.
79 (125). Finally! "Ain't Back Yet" isn't even worth me saying anything more.
78 (86). This has grown on me since it was out, it's production is really well done. I just never felt like it had anything interesting to say as a song. Their album was actually really really good though.
77 (54). I found myself really loving the melody and harmonies of "The World Is Ours Tonight", it may not be anything unique but well done melodies and harmonies can carry a song far for me.
76 (47). I'm surprised Chris Stapleton wrote "Keep On Lovin' You" I can hear it once it was pointed out but still surprising.
75 (32). I loved "Til A Woman Comes Along"! Chris felt so fresh and I was excited to see where he would go. Still like him for the most part these days, but he's very rarely captured the excitement I had for him from this song.
74 (48). Love And Theft were soo hit and miss for me, but "Dancing In Circles" is really beautiful.
73 (114). "My Kinda Party" is the Jason Aldean formula done to perfection, meaning it's boring and kinda bland.
72 (36). "Giddy On Up" made it higher than I would've thought, fantastically fun and such a good energy I still totally see how this may not be everybody's cup of tea!
71 (91). "How Far Do You Wanna Go" would've been such a better song if it didn't feel like they were attacking you with their voices.
70 (19). "Pound Sign (#?*!)" is so fun, Kevin doesn't sound great on it which is really the only reason this isn't in my top 10.
69 (2). Oh :( "Guinevere" is Eli Young Band's best single, that chorus melody is to die for.
68 (89). After a very very bad run of singles "Why Wait" was such a breath of fresh air for Rascal Flatts, I used to like this a bit better than I do now, but it's still among their better singles. They were finally having fun again!
67 (64). "Playing The Part" works better as an album track than a single for me, but this is still really good, and I love the music video.
66 (117). "The Breath You Take" is easily the worst single of George's, I'm still so sick of this song and I purposely don't listen to it when the album is on.
65 (98). Lyrically "Mine" is both uninteresting and honestly a little bad, I never understood the love this one gets among her fans.

It might not be her best single, but the amount of 100's Mine got is ridiculous.

Saddened by a King George song being done so dirty He came further than he deserved to and I think purely because it *is* George Strait, lol. That song is absolute trash. "Guinevere" has like, no melody. Horrid song. 69 (2). Oh :( "Guinevere" is Eli Young Band's best single, that chorus melody is to die for. I found this pretty funny.
