Let's not get carried away “Carried away” with what? At the end of each respective decade, starting from the 1990’s, there have been songs that spent +12 weeks at number on the Hot 100. Smooth > Boom Boom Pow > Old Town Road If “Panini” hits #1 then he’d be following in “I Gotta Feeling/Maria Maria” footsteps. So, yes... What I said was accurate. I wasn’t speaking on “quality” however. At all. Spoilt was saying calling Panini a double digit number one is getting carried away lol.

Rap Caviar curators think Panini is rap enough for them so that explains the good success on Spotify too.
(OTR never made the playlist)

Is there a possibility that megatron debuts in the top 10? Not looking good so far.

HUGE debut for Shawn Mendes with Señorita and a massive boost for Lil Nas X with Panini, but all that tells me is that both songs will crash and burn throughout the weekend.

Anna Nalick's Breathe is also an underrated gem. Also love La Tortura, all 3 Kelly tracks... lots of good stuff on that chart.

Funny that you said that, just added Breathe on to my playlist due to that retro chart. Hadn't heard it in years! But it's very popular, 47M listens on Spotify.

Omg seeing that 2005 makes me so nostalgic!
2005 was the year that pop finally made a comeback.
"Breakaway" was such a huge iconic era, it really changed the landscape of pop.
"Since U Been Gone" was the first pop single since Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" to hit the top 2.
"Breakaway" was her biggest radio smash (#79 airplay singles of 2000, higher than "Since U Been Gone")
"Behind These Hazel Eyes" hitting #10 on the year end chart despite peaking at #6 shows how much longevity it really had

Not necessarily, yes, but that'll be the case for the two songs I mentioned. Señorita got a lot of promo on Spotify on it's first day. It's video trending on Twitter also helped. Shawn is a noted underwhelming artist on Spotify. I think this is his biggest debut and songs that debut really high usually crash during the weekend and then rise back to the positions they'll maintain for the rest of the tracking week. As for Panini, it's huge boost came following the release of the EP. The other songs on the EP aren't doing as well. We'll see, but I'm betting they both crash and burn when their numbers for the weekend come in.

Is there a possibility that megatron debuts in the top 10? Not looking good so far. I've been comparing MEGATRON with the first day performances on Spotify, Apple Music and iTunes with Chun-Li. MEGATRON has shown favourable differences over Chun-Li's first day streaming position and performance, and Chun-Li did go Top 10 (#10). So I wouldn't count out Top 10 for MEGATRON; however, we'll see how the rest of the tracking week goes. NB eg: SPOTIFY First Day Performance : GLOBAL Chun-Li - 645,791 streams (#154) 04/12/2018 MEGATRON - 1,485, 677 (#55) 06/21/2019 UNITED STATES Chun-Li - 393,038 streams (#65) 04/12/2018 MEGATRON - 730, 743 streams (#21) 06/21/2019

Lol. Chun-Li's second day performance does eclipse MEGATRON's first day though. (839,846 streams;#18... Barbie Tingz BBH10 peak 25 - 1, 133,509 streams #12 both 04/13/2018)

Shawn's IICHY has 47 million streams in 50 days on US Spotify and it was in the top 10 for 28 days, that's not underwhelming. Also, Camila's Havana is one of the biggest songs in Spotify history. They are capable for big numbers there.

He literally got his highest peak when IICHY debuted at #2 because it debuted with a video. The same thing will probably happen with this new single. I'm just saying the song WILL crash in streams this weekend. There's no way it sustains 6 or even 5 million streams throughout the weekend. It only debuted that high because of the massive promo it got on Friday. Also Havana is Camila's biggest song. How have her other songs performed? Not trying to take anything from her, but right now, I'd call Billie Eilish a bigger and more consistent streaming artist than Camila. Billie has MULTIPLE songs with massive streams. I don't know that that is the case with Camila. I see the song eventually staying steady at about 3-4 million streams daily for a couple of weeks, BUT it will crash this weekend. That's always been my point.

If “Panini” maintains its high Spotify ranking then I could easily see it debuting in the top five/three. If he somehow managed to replace himself at #1 in the next week or two I would be amazed. He truly is the ‘Santana/Black Eyed Peas’ of 2019: ‘OTR’ is ‘Smooth/Boom Boom Pow’ and ‘Panini’ is ‘Maria Maria/I Gotta Feeling’. WHEW! I doubt if he does it will be bigger than Gods Plan/Nice For what of last year

Camila even got an album track over 100m streams on Spotify ("She Loves Control"). She's not billie but there's plenty of room between Billie-level and a streaming nobody.
Shawn usually fares better on iTunes and radio, so in theory both acts benefit from each other.

Too bad they did the wrong thing with that album, because it was a great debut, but 3 top tens would have made it an even stronger one

I really wish she released "Real Friends" - I think it would've been perfect for the winter, and it gives me "Love Yourself" vibes (in a good way)

Senorita is about to have a massive Spotify update. Approaching top 10 on Apple Music; getting 20 million views per day on YouTube globally.
Looks like he's gonna have another #2. Crazy.

#LilNasXIsOverParty is trending on twitter. Supposedly he tweeted Islamaphobic tweets following the Manchester bombing at Ariana’s concert while he was still a Nicki Minaj Stan account. I wonder if this will impact the performance of his music at all.

Highly doubt it given the fact that the several other rappers with literal crimes against other people under the belt are still able to do well.

Yeah, as soon as I saw that it dropped with a music video, I had it pegged as a #2 debut. It's also #1 on iTunes. I wonder if it's Spotify US numbers will hold steady or fall during the weekend. I personally think the global numbers will dip. If it's Spotify US numbers hold and it manages to stay in the top 5 of Apple Music US throughout the tracking week, it's got a #2 debut in the bag, easily.
