So Senorita gets over 100 million youtube views in its first week, has been #1 on Spotify the last 6 days, has the biggest airplay gains, but still doesnt get #1. Where does OTR get the edge? Majority of YouTube is global. OTR still had way more streams & radio and 9,000 more digital sales. Senorita fell short in literally all three components? Senorita couldn't have done any better than it did, and it's still not good enough to get #1.

The bigger story about OTRβs potential record tying/breaking isnβt LNX, but Billy Ray Cyrus! Think how mind blowing and kinda fantastic that a country legacy artist & Mileyβs dad could be in the record books. Thatβs truly remarkable and random. Itβs stuff like this that makes chartwatching fun.

I think Billy Ray wasn't credited for OTRs first week at #1, would that impact whether he'd be officially credited for the record?

I think Billy Ray wasn't credited for OTRs first week at #1, would that impact whether he'd be officially credited for the record? when the BRC remix was dropped, Billboard edited it to be credited to them both. Billy Ray will get credit for the all time list, unlike Beyonce not being credited for Perfect on the all time list

So Senorita gets over 100 million youtube views in its first week, has been #1 on Spotify the last 6 days, has the biggest airplay gains, but still doesnt get #1. Where does OTR get the edge? 1) Not all views you see on YouTube are from the US. "Old Town Road" received 28.7 million streams from YouTube in the US this week. "SeΓ±orita" only reveived 16.9 million. That's still a great number, but far below "Old Town Road." Also, let's not forget that YouTube is weighted less than nornal on-demand streaming sites like Spotify and Apple Music. 2) "SeΓ±orita" received 14.2 million streams from Spotify this week. "Old Town Road" received at least 12.3 million streams this week. I say "at least" because there's another version of the track below the top 200 on Spotify. So at most that's 13.7 million streams. They're actually really close here. Don't forget too that paid subscriber streams are weighted more than free users and paid subscribers tend to listen to rap and hip-hop more. 3) YouTube and Spotify are not the only streaming services that exist. "SeΓ±orita" is #7 on Apple Music compared to "Old Town Road" at #6 and #99. It's ahead on Apple Music and YouTube, which for certain makes up the deficit "Old Town Road" has on Spotify. There's also Tidal and Google Play to consider as well. In the end, "Old Town Road" is ahead by a good margin in streams. 4) "SeΓ±orita" may have the biggest airplay gains this week, but that's all that means. It gained more than any other song. That doesn't mean it was the biggest song on airplay this week. "Old Town Road" is still #4 on airplay this week with 82.5 million audience impressions. "SeΓ±orita" only has 23 million audience impressions. 5) Sure, it means little, but "Old Town Road" is also ahead of "SeΓ±orita" in digital sales. "Old Town Road" is #1 this week with 59k sales. "SeΓ±orita" is #2 with 50k. So, yeah, "Old Town Road" has the edge in literally all three components. In fact, the only place "SeΓ±orita" has the edge is in Spotify streams, but that's not enough to counteract how far behind it is on the other streaming platforms and two other Hot 100 components.

2nd Taylor Swift song to drop from #2 to out of the top 10
Roxette, Madonna and the Eagles are others with two songs to drop that far from #2

Well now with multiple Lil Nas X songs charting and charting high, the one hit wonder tag (by any popular definition) no longer applies For once, I'll actually disagree with you, for now. The two songs debuting relatively high don't fit my definition of a hit.

^I guess my definition is "popular" at all, then. Like I said. I could be wrong. Everyone has their own definition of what a hit is. In my perception I guess top 40 comes up the most. Regardless Lil Nas X has three songs in the top 22 this week

'Another one week top 10 for Drake', No Guidance spending a 3rd consecutive week top 10 with Chris's album release boost coming next week & music video yet to come.Β :kii: Hopefully Truth Hurts goes top 10 next week. They're shooting the video for No Guidance tomorrow in Miami. It's officially getting a top 40 push thanks to the song now being pushed by RCA on Chris' side AND Republic on Drake's side. It's also steadily gaining on radio and relatively stable on streaming. How many total weeks has Drake spent in the top 10 this decade now? Last I checked it was at like 200 weeks or so.

He's one week away from tying Elton John's record of "longest #1 run for a song by an openly lgbtq+ artist" A black boy with a country rap song did that I'm
Records are set every week I guess Like for instance this already holds the record for longest #1 that features an aging country artist Soon though - this will be the longest stay at #1 period so it won't matter anyway Speaking of broken records
