Regarding Post Malone, I don't think he has a lots of credibility as a rap artist? Some of music critics I know consider him more like what Kid Rock was to rock in the late 90s: cartoonish character who uses the cliches in his advantage and becomes super popular for several years. The critics are dumb and irrelevant. Post was embraced and endorsed by many big hip-hop figures and solid number of listeners. If he becomes a full blown pop singer, there will be consequence.

Talk (133.2M audience impressions | 19,029 Hot 100 points coming from radio)
- Strongest radio #1 (by audience) since Meant To Be. - Strongest radio #1 (by Radio Songs points***) since That's What I Like.
***Last year, they increased radio's % on the Hot 100, so Talk's 133M is worth more points than MTB's 142M/Perfect's 152M.

If The Git Up goes #1, would it be the worst #1 of all time? I think so!

Bold statement, 1000+ #1 songs, that is the worst one?
I kind of like it
Anyway, may not get to #1 - but we'll see

If The Git Up goes #1, would it be the worst #1 of all time? I think so! Well it's actually a good song and it's hard to call it the worst number one when Harlem Shake exists.

***Last year, they increased radio's % on the Hot 100 It's impossible at this point to even pretend that Billboard charts are accurate representation of music consumption.

"Please Me" and "Eyes On You" should've gone recurrent.

Why bothering with radio, OTR will break that record. I'm just posting stats. If you don't like it, ignore it. My post is far more on topic than yours anyway. All this annoying record talk is besides the point of the weekly Hot 100 threads. I don't care 'bout that record, but I'd be ok with OTR breaking it, because it's better than OSD and Despacito (for me) and because people need to stop calling that record "Mariah's record" when she's literally sharing it with Boyz II Men, Bieber, Luis and Yankee. Also, be honest, why are you posting OTR's numbers? Because you like it so much, or you want that record to be still in Mariah's hands (and 10 other people)? It's cool that you love Mariah, and I understand that you don't want OTR to break it...just be honest and don't blame other people for mentioning that record, because you're the first person to mention that. You don't do it transparently, but we all know the intention behind it.

There were a lot of panel changes so artists could only ever accumulate probably around 200M AI vs. 250m+ before. Unless I'm understanding the panel changes incorrectly?

It's impossible at this point to even pretend that Billboard charts are accurate representation of music consumption. What do you think would be better? Streams + digital sales only would be ideal. But since that won't happen for all the obvious reasons, Billboard should at least make sure that radio play isn't so heavily weighted. It's ridiculous.

I know things have been changed quite a bit over the years, but is 1 million in radio audience the same as 1 million in streams on today's chart? I know the "paid" services are weighted more than ad-supported like YouTube, etc.

Harlem Shake immediately came to mind as my least favorite #1 ever; The Git Up would be nothing compared to how bad Harlem Shake was, to me.

Goodbyes is a first flop/misfire for Post Godlone since forever. Unless he wants to kill all the hype for the new album, it's probably time to quit Top 40 pop singer s**t and make more Wows. Dude I swear you smoking crack Goodbyes was great

It's impossible at this point to even pretend that Billboard charts are accurate representation of music consumption. What do you think would be better? Why not merge radio with programmed streaming/playlists? Perhaps, I'm wrong, but it seems like they represent a similar consumption component - passive listening, where the song choice is not up to programmer and not the listener.

^ That's a very good point. It's the same idea of consumption, but with a slightly different technology.

Sicko Mode survives at 50!!! Probably won't survive next week, though, due to Ed Sheeran's album bomb.
