Refreshing to see radio latch on to a true hit. Refreshing to watch a woman climb the charts with zero help. Just awesome!

Gabby is the success story of the ABC version of American Idol. It’s been years since anybody from a singing show has done this well.

Cases could be made for the solo careers of some one d members and fifth harmony but that is different because their group careers were established a while ago. I’d also add Calum Scott’s cover of dancing on my own. It wasn’t huge in the US but was a huge worldwide hit going top 20 in several countries.

But as far as show direct to stardom, 100% agree Morgan Wallen has said he hated his time on The Voice so I doubt he would go back or the show wants to showcase him. That's not the case with Gabby. Idol has been giving her a lot of attention post-show. Congrats to Gabby! This is a great song & hoping "The Good Ones" is her next single & is just as successful.

First things first—before making grandiose statements on who is ‘most successful,’ etc—let’s watch how this song performs at its peak and the activity of subsequent singles. One song is not a career make.

She came in third place on her season behind Maddie Poppe and Caleb Hutchinson. Speaking of the latter where’s his debut single? The judges sure seemed high on him on the show but he had yet to release a single to country radio. In my opinion Gabby should’ve won the show but maybe it was better she didn’t.

Not really sure what he is doing right now, but Maddie continues to be bitter. She got mad because Gabby was shown on American Idol last Sunday. And yes I think it’s better she didn’t win. She wasn’t stuck with Hollywood records. It’s not a bad label if you are a pop singer, but you get no promotion to country if you are a country singer. Laine (who won last year) is stuck with a non country label.

Three Top 40 radio stations have started playing this and it reached a new peak of #94 on Spotify, I think a crossover is definitely possible!

Any ideas on what her next radio release will be? I'm hoping for "The Good Ones." I like it best from what I have listened to from her. I think it would have a very good chance of being her 2nd #1.

I love this song and that it’s done so well but it’s worth noting that Gabby was very bitter when she came in third as well, and even made some ridiculous comments against Idol. It’s shocking they’re showing her so much support now, but I don’t blame them bragging about her success. As far as next single, praying for The Good Ones. I’ve been hooked on it for months!

I don’t blame idol either. They really needed someone to be successful from the relaunch of the show, and I hope is already bigger than any song to come from the voice

Love that "The Bones" has been such a massive hit for Maren, but I wish Gabby could've eked out at least a lone week at #1 on HCS chart before dropping. Still a momentous hit all around, and a top 20 showing on the Hot 100 is incredible.
Also if the next single is between "The Good Ones" or "Hall of Fame," I prefer HOF personally, but I do agree with consensus that TGO is the right follow-up out of the two. It sounds like another big hit to me and its already done well on streaming. I could see them just as easily coming with something fresh that we haven't heard yet though.

Is the Charlie Puth version planned to be released to Pop at all, or was that just a nice bonus to strike a bit more streams while this is hot?

That song is...wow. Absolutely stunning and for a heart like mine. I’m about to send it to some friends. 😂
Rather than making it available for purchase on iTunes, they should have made this an album-only instant grat with pre-order and pushed it to steaming services. It’s a nice change of pace from “I Hope” and demonstrates thematic versatility. Since “Hall of Fame” and “The Good Ones” have both been out for awhile now, “Got Me” would incentivize listeners to pre-order the album. However, you can look at it two ways: Either the label wants to push the first-week numbers on the record, or they’re looking for downloads/streams. Of course, they passively want both, but it seems as though they’re actively working the streaming side while Gabby still has momentum coming off her #1 single. It’s a strategy that’s worked thus far.
Lastly, while I can see Gabby’s personality shining through on the album cover, I feel it’s not the best. That’s just superficial commentary, though.

I wonder if her husband Cade Foehner co-wrote any of the songs with her on the new album. Anyone know?

Another thought: I could see Gabby being very successful in CCM. Quite a few of these tracks suggest Christian-leaning themes and while those are not far removed from country at all, the passion she displays on faith-based tracks is both convincing and worth noting.
