Isn't the Youtube streams worth less for the HOT100 points?

It’s Don’t Call Me Baby by Madison Avenue, great song Barely top 50 on pop radio, only scraped the bottom end of the Hot 100, but the resilience #SmashAussieFlopCrossover I really do stan Aussie music. Spiderbait, Regurgitator, The Superjesus, You Am I, Powderfinger, Frenzal Rhomb, The Whitlams, Something For Kate, The Veronicas, Natalie Imbruglia, Silverchair, Vanessa Amorosi, Hilltop Hoods, Kylie Minogue, SIA, Nick Cave, Missy Higgins, Savage Garden, Crowded House, even Iggy Azalea. We need more popular Australian musicians.

For me at least, it was the combination of the airplay dependence along with just how close multiple of the songs it blocked got to beating it in addition to just how low the points were. It was as if margin of error just kept wanting to spite us from a healthy run of toppers. People like to dismiss songs that are #1 because they are lopsided in one metric. Dismiss it all you want, it's still #1. Side eye to all those that hate Girls Like You for remaining at #1 thanks to airplay. People are actively choosing to stream OTR and make content with it whereas GLY simply got put on heavy rotation by like a handful of people in the country that choose what gets played because of how generic it is lol but go off Alas GLY was sales #1 and peaked at #5 in streaming so it did deserve to be #1. It just stayed there 3 weeks too long. Keep in mind though that GLY was also #2 for many weeks, so it sort of evened out.

If “Macavity” ends up blocking OTR, I will be in Broadway heaven...which is to say it ain’t happening. Name the last time a film adaptation of a musical spawned a hit. Even Les Mis didn’t get any of its songs to the top 40, and that was a way bigger cultural event.

In before the soundtrack single Taylor drops tomorrow ends up being better than the two singles she's dropped so far from Lover.

I wonder how OTR does on a pedestrian/low music fan service like Amazon/Alexa? Wasn’t that service a big driver of Xmas music because it was kind of basic - and definitely not factored into most predictions. I’m curious if it oversamples certain types of music they way Spotify/Apple did with Urban.

This is the top 50 2,000+ (LoL) on Amazon. music.amazon.com/popular/browsePanel/popularTracksI *guess* it's mostly children and older people using this while the average streamer uses Spotify/Apple Music.

Sunflower just pushed past I Don't Care on Spotify, up to #9. And with Ed's other two songs falling I bet it could push back up to #7.
This is gonna be the song to reach 35 weeks in the Top 10. It's just an absolute monster.
