I'm not the biggest fan of Lizzo, Truth Hurts is alright but it isn't the greatest song ever that some claim to be, but I would take that song over bad guy at number 1 in a heartbeat.

I don't think anyone thinks truth hurts is the best song ever, almost everyon e thought Juice was better but truth hurts has tik tok memes

what are some songs that would’ve gone #1 had a commercial single had been released? all i can remember right now is michael jackson’s “you rock my world” and maybe iris? You Rock My World wasn't released as a physical single in the U.S.? Hmm, that's surprising. Anyway I'm not sure it would've been #1, because it wasn't even a very big airplay hit (#9 on Hot 100 Airplay, 10 on the Hot 100) and his popularity was greatly waning at that time, at least in the U.S. Lots of Beatles songs and many 90s AirPlay songs I'm curious as to what Beatles songs you think? It would be even more difficult to determine back then and we can really only speculate in hindsight, and if there's any records available as to which ones got significant enough airplay.

i have a feeling that the black community is not embracing Lizzo as they should “As they should” is gross... I’m not gonna sit here and tell black people who they should and should not support. My understanding, though, is that Lizzo’s popularity with white listeners has triggered a mini-backlash among black music fans.

You could make an argument for several songs but I would go with my favorite Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds The parody was #1 So was the cover song

I have literally never heard of a Lizzo backlash. The song is doing great and she's about to have another song break out on it's own ("Good as Hell").
Y'all need to get out of the house more.

I’m not seeing that much of React videos or virals of Lizzo in Black youtube and twitter the way i see with Megan thee stallion and Cardi b when she first popped off for example. I see Megan thee stallion EVERYDAY on my youtube and twitter timeline with thousand of rts and likes but shes not necessarily at the top of the charts atm. In the other hand Lizzo is getting millions of streams daily and have a current top 10 hit, Good as hell is climbing up too. So i was wondering where this popularity and streaming numbers come from? who are listening to her? i guess its just a mix of people. The way i see Black twitter talking and reacting to Megan thee stallion may hold the impression shes the number one artist right now, which i hope she becomes at some point, but shes still niche. Lizzo popularity didnt start within black hip hop fans even tho shes a hip hop artist and black for that matter. I guess her lyrical content and her LGBT allyness have something to do. I might be bugging tho

Sounds like you're just surrounded by people who will jump through any hoop necessary to he outraged about something because I've not seen a single thing about Lizzo backlash, especially with that ludicrous of a reason.

Lol, I never said it was a bad song. I said he's made and can make better songs. Also, this video looks very low quality, like the video for Sneakin'. He's wearing a sweatshirt and Rick Ross is dressed in blue overalls. Huh? Anyways, this probably means he won't be pushing any real singles for the rest of the year and wants to release a video to capitalize on how good the song's been doing. But yeah, good to see a song you really love is getting a video, huh? Lol.

It is one the many songs that get played so often you would think it was a single. The ‘needs no proof’ example was Lucy in the Sky. Variations of the song hit number one twice. There are many others. Got to Get You Into My Life May be another. 10 years after it was recorded it went top 10. Imagine what would have happened if it was released when it was new

Since Rockstar debuted at #2, he’s been out the top 10 for 5 weeks. 4 of those were the gap between Better Now and Sunflower and the other week was during Drake’s album bomb. So 90 of the last 95 weeks.
