Black & Yellow reached #1 on the Hot 100 dated as February 19, 2011. It peaked at #2 on Hot Digital Sales and #7 on Radio Songs. Raise Your Glass (Dec. 11, 2010) is the other song this decade that reached #1 without hitting #1 on radio/sales (streaming chart didn't exist in 2010/11). Raise Your Glass wasn't #1 on sales? What kept it from the top spot? Firework ? I think?

Hmmm.... ya, looks like SICKO MODE hit #1 without ever having hit #1 in any component, although it did later hit #1 in streaming.

I just really hate all the hyper-focus on Bad Guy or whatever #2 song not reaching #1, and how it's somehow this tragic, disastrous calamity. So just because a song doesn't reach THE ABSOLUTE POLE POSITION, and is "just" in 2nd place (even if it's for a possible record 10+ weeks mind you!), it's still somehow a failure and will be forgotten in the anals of chart/popular music history? Yeah, I'm sure no one remembers that obscure no. 2 Bad Romance, and that the masterpiece Tik Tok is heralded far above it, and that that nothing of a ballad Beautiful is completely lost to the timeless classic that is Bump, Bump, Bump. Seriously people, can we calm the f*** down.

Uh... I don't see anyone making the claim that it won't be remembered. It's just awesome to see a song go #1, dude. Especially when it's so close. I think we're all smart enough to know being #2 is still a great thing, chill. 💊 I just really hate all the hyper-focus on Bad Guy or whatever #2 song not reaching #1, and how it's somehow this tragic, disastrous calamity. Seriously people, can we calm the f*** down. I won't be as petty as to quote individual posts, and obviously I was using hyperbole when I said that other people were saying "certain songs won't be remembered" or "will disappear from history," etc., but no one can deny that there are absolutely statements, not just this week but from every week, such as "oh, this is the last chance for this song to get #1, all is lost if it doesn't make it now"...or "oh, this artist has to try so and so tactic, this is a make or break moment," or "wow, what a shame and a huge misfortune for this song to be stuck at #2 for 7 weeks,"....etc. I'm not against #1's or anything myself and of course it's nice to see songs get there, but of course weekly peaks aren't everything, and I will say that, overall, there tends to be a focus on these threads for songs that peak at #2, especially for a long time, about how they failed to get to #1 rather than how they've been able to be at the second-best position for such a long time (I know I would be very happy with that). Like, for this week, why not celebrate the fact that Billie has been able to maintain the runner-up position for such a long time and focus on what she has been able to achieve rather than what she hasn't? What kind of a world do we live in where anything less than the absolute best can be construed as a failure?...

Who's coming for #1? Ransom, Senorita or Someone You loved?

Who's coming for #1? Ransom, Senorita or Someone You loved? Well, definitely senorita first (or bad guy, but I doubt it). After that, possibly truth hurts? Ransom has very high streaming numbers so i think it’s a contender. Someone you loved might end up making it, but I’m doubtful. I’m guessing it’ll go Top 5 max.

But bad guy is too late and its not deserve a #1 anyway at my point, same for Truth Hurts and its not so good not for #1, but ransom is addictive i can see it go there and Someone You loved is so good but not strong enough on spotify...

Señorita will be the next #1, Truth Hurts looks like it's going to get blocked at #2.

Billie's only lead is on am of all places (and only by one spot) so it's definitely over
Also Spotify Numbers
#1 - Ran$om 2.095 #2 - Senorita 1.054 #3 - Truth Hurts 1.042 #4 - Goodbyes 0.968 #5 - Money In The Grave 0.960 #6 - Bad Guy 0.959 #7 - Lover 0.940 #8 - No Guidance 0.936 #9 - The London 0.863 #10 - Bad Bad Bad 0.831
#11 - Panini 0.800 #12 - Boyfriend 0.786 #13 - Old Town Road 0.783 (Can't see the diplo/rm/thugger remixes so it's more accuately around #10) #14 - Sunflower 0.761 #15 - Shotta Flow 0.754 #16 - Suge 0.728 #17 - Baby 0.654 #18 - Hot 0.647 #19 - Lalala 0.635 #20 - Beautiful People 0.623 #21 - Someone You Loved 0.622 #22 - Hot Girl Summer 0.620 #23 - Pop Out 0.571 #24 - How Do You Sleep? 0.552 #25 - Slide Away 0.540
And judging by some insane AM numbers, Thugger's on track for the 3rd biggest album bomb of the year

Fans will divert more streams to Cirlces since it's a newer song and radio will throw more support behind it since it sounds like a better crossover hit than Goodbyes.

Huh? Goodbyes is literally the most (pop) radio friendly song that there is right now imo!

Circles is very diverse in the sound it has and so therefore it can be a crossover hit. But I do agree with you that Goodbyes will become way bigger on radio than it is right now. We will have to see what Post does, he still hasn't said anything about Circles and its release.

According to Kworb, Goodbyes is a hit on "only" 3 formats and still close to top ten on airplay so it's getting A LOT of spins in those 3 formats. If it gets a 4th format, it'll be top 5 hit on radio which is what he has got recently.

Even when he makes songs that have rap-esque production, they get embraced by pop radio so he never has a problem getting massive radio airplay across several formats. I'm just saying that Cirlces sounds like an alternative record. I can easily see it getting even more support on formats that Post Malone might not usually get support from.

So...
“Bad Guy” has finally peaked at number one.
“Senorita” has an 80% chance of being number one now next week.
The week after, it should be a battle between “Senorita” and “Truth Hurts”.
After that...
Rihanna needs to release her fu*king lead single!

I wonder if a full tracking week of the vertical video and the cassettes would be enough to keep bad guy at 1 for a second week or not

It's pretty obvious that Señorita has this week on lock. It is growing in radio, while BG is decreasing. Plus it's selling more. This past week it was THIS close between them.
What's really interesting is next week. Who is going to get the VMA´s push more, Señorita of Truth Hurts?

I wonder if a full tracking week of the vertical video and the cassettes would be enough to keep bad guy at 1 for a second week or not I doubt it. bad guy and Señorita are already so close to each other. bad guy has begun falling on pop and alternative radio and its gains on hot ac and rhythmic won't be enough to counteract that. Meanwhile, Señorita is gaining significantly on airplay. Next week Señorita's airplay gains to bad guy's airplay losses will be enough to make them switch on the Hot 100. And that's without factoring in sales and streaming. With those tacked on, bad guy is slipping considerably while Señorita is stable. I just don't see any possible way anything stops Señorita from hitting #1 next week.
