I donβt agree. Only that one line entered the canon, not the song itself. It also was a relative nonevent at the tour compared to her classic hits and even non singles. The charts were very good to Ms. Anti Hero, but sheβs just not the same kind of girl as Love Story, YBWM, SIO and BS. It's okay to admit Anti-Hero is a huge and eventful single lol Huge single? Yes. One of her 5 signature songs? I fear not! OT: still blown away by the saga of this chart run - from fully accepting that CS would never go #1 to now debating if itβll get 2 or 3 weeks at the top.

There's a huge difference between one of her five signature songs and a song that didn't enter the canon Anyways, Anti-Hero and Cruel Summer reminds me of the SIO and BS slayage. We love to see it

The longevity of this song is nuts. However, this has been on heavy repeat for 4 years for me, so I get it haha.
I am so glad Lover(the album) gets its retribution. No longer will it he marred by the horrible first single that I will not name. I feel like that impacted the rest of the singles on the album.
Just so glad this isn't the song that got away. I knew this would be a smash.

did this ever chart at Rhythmic or it's spincrease or taking off page? If it was like 2013 it would definitely be on rhythmic, but they don't play much pop music nowadays. Even I'm Good which was a huge hit and a full on dance song (a genre that's supposed to be played on rhythmic) only got #21 according to Wikipedia. it looks like she has not charted at Rhythmic since 2017 according to Billboard . overall she had 12 songs chart there between 2009 and 2017.

Here for Doja crashing after she gets the official #1 tomorrow and this rises back to #1 (again). There isn't anything behind it close enough to possibly block it.
Does anyone know the record for the most returns to #1 on Pop?

Does anyone know the record for the most returns to #1 on Pop? Doja is doing well in streams and has not been out as long as other recent droppers after reaching #1.

A point *increase* predicted for next week Now we're going to need to stop buying CS so it doesn't block 1989TV... the surreality of being a Taylor fan

After seeing the post that this would have been #1 this week even without the sales, proves to me that she could have done it earlier and this song could have been #1 for many weeks. But as long as this reaches #1, I'mma shut up. What I now realize with this, is that maybe all along they have known this would be #1, but have opted to act before the release of 1989 TV, so she would have back to back #1's / replace herself at the top.

This song getting its flowers and curtain call is justice. Its chart run is arguably one of the most iconic ones Iβve ever witnessed in the 15 years Iβve been on Pulse.
Perfect timing as summer ends and 1989 comes into focus.
As a fan, beyond the absence of a MV, this has been a treat to watch.
And the slayage about to come in with 1989 is going to be amazing.

Tbh if CS could take like 5-6 more weeks at #1 I wouldnβt mind it blocking the TV single. This is a certified smash and not a one-week fluke. Iβll be happy if TV single takes a week and then this reclaims it.

Manifesting a high budget music video in February just in time for the third wind On a somewhat more serious note, we still shouldn't completely rule out a music video for possibly next (or even a future) summer. With how likely this is to get at least a minor (but possibly major) resurgence every summer for years to come, that could actually work out really well, a way for her to spread out the success more and when she has more time to plan and film it, etc.

Does anyone know the record for the most returns to #1 on Pop? Post Malone's Circles. It had four separate stints at #1 (so, it returned to #1 three times).

Well it's #1 on Kworb's estimates, but it already topped Billboard's Airplay Songs chart so the overall #1 is already a done thing.

The longevity of this song is crazy?! It could have peaked several months ago and no one would have been surprised. Itβs approaching itβs 9th week at #1 on pop, 2nd week on Hot 100, without an official video still!

Not that it's going to return to #1 every summer, but will re-surge on radio and streaming during those months. Releasing the MV ahead of next summer would be a great way to jumpstart its seasonal resurgence.

Anyone know offhand which TS song has spent the most time on the CHR/Pop chart? If I had to guess, I'd say Love Story just because it was such a gradual rise. Feels like most of her hits since Fearless peak around week 12 and phase out from there.

Feels like most of her hits since Fearless peak around week 12 and phase out from there. On Billboard's Pop Airplay chart these are her longest running songs: 27 weeks - You Belong With Me (2009) 26 weeks - Delicate (2018) 25 weeks - Lavender Haze (2022) 24 weeks - Love Story (2008) 22 weeks - I Don't Wanna Live Forever (2016) 22 weeks - Anti-Hero (2022) 21 weeks - Teardrops On My Guitar (2007) 21 weeks - I Knew You Were Trouble. (2012) 21 weeks - Blank Space (2014) Cruel Summer will spend its 19th week on the chart once Billboard updates on Tuesday. On Mediabase's CHR chart these are her longest running songs: 26 weeks - Love Story (2008) 26 weeks - You Belong With Me (2009) 25 weeks - Delicate (2018) 24 weeks - Lavender Haze (2022) 21 weeks - Teardrops On My Guitar (2007) 21 weeks - Mine (2010) 21 weeks - I Knew You Were Trouble. (2012) 21 weeks - Lover (2019) Cruel Summer spent its 19th week on the chart on tonight's published update.
