I agree everything about it is incredible. I disagree about the pop radio death age and really think that has changed over the last 10 years. Yes there’s still ageism but the age has been bumped up for sure. Name a female artist who regularly scores hits on CHR over the age of 35? Not just a one-off top 10 but regularly charting their songs in the top 10, 5, 1… I didn’t realize they had to regularly make the top 10 to count?? Not sure how that was dictated? Pink had respectful success since turning 35. Beyonce got two top 10s this era with the only two songs she sent. Basically all of sias American career. Gwen Stefani. Madonna did. Janet Jackson started on track for this pre Super Bowl. |

Probably the last week in the top 3 on pop radio as Jack Harlow's "Lovin on Me" is coming up fast, but 25 consecutive weeks in the top 3 is a great result. 18th non-consecutive week at #1 on HAC and also finally #1 on AC after being stuck behind Miley Cyrus' "Flowers" for so long!

I wonder if maybe it depends on more than just age: if you look your age, how long you’ve been on the charts, what the music is like (e.g. does it sound fresh and young like Kill Bill), etc. I don’t think it’s as simple as you reach X age and Y happens |

Just ran the numbers using the Hot 100 GOAT list and realized this is pretty much guaranteed to become her biggest hit ever.
It's currently about 200k points away from Shake It Off and Anti-Hero at the moment. It's projected to be #3 this upcoming week and #2 the following week, which puts it only 142k away from her top songs after 38 weeks on the chart.
It would just need an average of 15k points for the remaining 14 weeks to get there. And that's only assuming it gets to 52 weeks on the chart and goes recurrent. Should it stay above #25 on the Hot 100 (which as long as its streaming and Pop/HAC/AC airplay stays relatively stable for awhile), it'll have no trouble at all.
[I'm using Flowers as a comparison. It's got 30 million fewer radio impressions and isn't in the top 200 for either Spotify or Apple Music yet is hovering around #20 on the Hot 100.]

Aw this thread was fun. ♥️ But I love how big this song still is. I hope it has a summer revival. ♥️ I hope this becomes her biggest hit. I would love if a Universal song became her biggest song. Any contenders to Cruel Summer on HAC? Greedy is about 1000 spins behind but has a bullet of ~400. Could take over in 2-3 weeks if it maintains that. I'm going to assume it slows down and takes about 4 weeks to climb to the top. Lil Boo Thing is about 700 spins behind but only has a bullet of ~80. I don't see it passing CS anytime soon unless it starts hemorrhaging spins. |
