I can't believe there's a good chance this will be back in the top 10 yet again, the week before TTPD drops.
If there's anyone who hasn't bought the track yet or hasn't added it to their streamlining playlist, this would be the week to do so.

I find it amazing that this has held on so long and with all the album bombs one after the other. 50 weeks is coming fast for her. What was her longest charting song?

Hope the summer boost is a real thing and this ends up in the top 20 on the all-time hot 100. It deserves to be her career defining hit at this point (I guess it already might be).

Is there a chance TTPD actually pushes Cruel Summer into recurrence? That would suck.

Is there a chance TTPD actually pushes Cruel Summer into recurrence? That would suck. I thought that the 52nd week would be the week that TTPD charts.. is that right? Because if so, the following week it would rise back into the top 25 (53rd week) and be saved from recurrency Edit: The 51st week is the tracking week of TTPD, as long as CS stays in the top 50 (which is basically guaranteed unless it has a huge fall) then it's safe!

Yeah unless she pulls out some "3 am" shenanigans and there are 30+ new tracks on the chart after this Friday, this will be fine.

Does it have to dip below 50 to go recurrent? It can last all summer. She should drop a video in May

During the first 20 weeks, as long as it has enough points to chart, it can chart at any position. Between weeks 21 and 52, it needs to stay in the top 50 to avoid recurrency. After week 52, it needs to stay in the top 25 to avoid recurrency.

After week 52, it needs to stay in the top 25 to avoid recurrency. So this coming week will be week 50. The Taylor album bomb will be for week 51. So maybe it can bounce back into the top 25 for week 52?

It doesnt have to be in the top 25 for week 52, just in case the TTPD tracks hangs on strong for week 2, but it does have to already be back in the top 25 for week 53 and beyond

Passed two billion streams on Spotify, her most streamed song. Imagine telling us all in 2019 this would happen…

Will this week be Cruel Summer’s first in the top ten on the hot 100 during Spring (not sure about last year)? If so, it has one in all 4 seasons now.

Yes, it will be! It's insane to think about it if it does re-enter the top 10 again.

I still remember when this song was gaining on Spotify last year and we were begging them to service to Pop radio. Now it's over 2 billion streams. Truly one of her career defining smashes.

52 Weeks seems in the bag. Not bad for a song that was never pushed at the time. 52 Weeks on the BB Hot 100 is no easy feat with all the big album bombs. It also hung out on the Hot 100 through the Christmas song onslaught.

Whatever happens, the main thing here is this is a song that had legs and a mind of its own. I really did not expect any of this. I loved Cruel Summer from the first listen to her album way back when. To think it is still a monster at radio in 2024 is astounding to me.

With how well this did I hope more artists can see the signs of a song from a catalogue that has potential to be pushed
I strongly believe whenever reputation get pushed either getaway car or don’t blame me should pushed as a standard single. There’s no reason one of those can’t become a solid top 10 hit and also help the reputation singles considering on Delicate and kind of LWYMDO aged well with the public

After everyone is done streaming TTPD 100x this week, please remember to give CS a few courtesy spins. It had a pretty significant bump yesterday (currently over 1.1 million streams on Spotify) but that still only accounts for #47.
This can't go recurrent just yet! It just needs to hang on 2 more weeks to get a full year.
Airplay is likely going to take a big hit on all formats with stations playing the entire album nonstop.

DBM and GC absolutely both have CS level potential to be all-timer hits for her. I think they always have, and remarkably age hasn’t done anything to change that (if anything DBM in particular sounds like a bigger smash now than then). Then you have IDSB waiting in the wings too as what would likely become a strong top 5 hit for her with the push (maybe #1?). I’m not even kidding when I’ve said she should “do-over” the whole era with Rep TV and treat it like TS12.

How far does it have to fall to go recurrent. Below #50?

Yeah unless she pulls out some "3 am" shenanigans and there are 30+ new tracks on the chart after this Friday, this will be fine. Oof

It's not going recurrent, the entire top 12 is predicted to be occupied by TTPD tracks (3 normal ones below). Even if all 31 debuted 1-31 CS would still be top 50.

It's doing fine with airplay. Spins are up across multiple stations and it's back on Power in Washington, D.C.

Because of her immense number of songs in the Top 30/40, I guess this will go recurrent. Does anyone know?
