Lovers!  Welcome to the LOVER Rankdown! This rankdown will reveal Pulse's first impressions of Taylor Swift's new album Lover. 58 people submitted to the rankdown (I said 59 yesterday but 1 person hasn't gotten back to me about their list so I'm going ahead). It's my biggest rankdown I've ever hosted, not sure how it compares to all rankdowns but I'm curious!
Before we begin, a few general stats and facts about the results:
- 12 of the 18 tracks got a last place (#18) rank.
- The ones that didn't get a last place rank got pretty close.
Every song ranked in at least one person's bottom 5.
- 13 of the 18 tracks got at least one #1 rank.
- 10 of those 13 had multiple people rank them #1.
- Every song got ranked in at least one person's Top 3.
- All but one track made someone's Top 2.
- The results were pretty close in some places. Close enough that one list could change the results. I made a test version of the rankdown by adding the current Hot 100 (since every song made the chart this week), and Billboard would have changed the order. I didn't use them for the final tally, but I will include their 'rank' among the results for comparison. |

#18 will be no surprise to most. It has the most last place ranks, the fewest Top 10 ranks, and the point difference in the entire rankdown is between #18 and #17. So this decision was pretty clear. |

#17 is the only song to not get a top 2 rank from anyone and got the second most last place ranks with 5. |

I actually kind of enjoy It's Nice To Have A Friend. It's got some good moments here and there and I like the production, it's just not as good as the rest of the album. Also - perfect ranking!
I'm actually really surprised that London Boy is leaving this early. I thought it was more liked and it's very catchy. I thought this was a lock for top 10.
I Forgot That You Existed is pretty weak but I still enjoy it. It's definitely a grower, even if it is one of her worst album openings. Just one away from a perfect ranking!
