I am trying to get SHeDAISY a Top 15 peak before they get retired lol. They only have so many weeks left! That is correct. Anything that is at 19 weeks likely has less than 5 weeks remaining. I dont want to retire like 20 songs in one week though so I may give some grace weeks to songs that are still climbing to new peaks or are still around their original peak. SHeDAISY is definitely one of the artist most likely to get a grace week or two. Still haven't figured out how I want to do that so any ideas are welcome!

I personally don't think that you need to retire songs based on how many weeks they have been on the chart. I mean, I guess we certainly don't want any ridiculous 40-week runs or anything. But honestly, in chart terms, 19-25ish weeks is still not THAT long to be on a chart... Lol. Besides, you have that whole "retire at -30" rule, which seems like a pretty fair way to remove songs. However, looking at the totals for last week's chart, I guess the songs that are currently at 19 weeks could only have less than 5 weeks before they achieve a -30 score, so maybe it'll all end up being the same no matter how you do it! Lol It's your chart, so ultimately you do whatever you want I know it'll take some time to perfect everything so that it works flawlessly. Edit: Surfy's suggestion sounds great too!

I think some songs sticking around a little longer will be OK and healthy for the chart, similar to the real charts where some songs have longer climbs, especially if they are still climbing or holding steady. Agree retiring 20 songs would be chaotic! Maybe something like if they hit that -30 negative threshold and they are 5-7 spots below their peak position, or something like that. Some songs on here are climbing, like SHeDAISY and Kacey have bounced around all over the chart, but probably have a little life in them to climb a tad higher, even if its not necessarily only upwards.

Just doing a quick reminder here and wanted to quickly respond to the suggestions that were given earlier this week. First the reminder: Today is Friday and voting ends on Sunday night so you have a couple days left to get your votes in for this weeks chart! Hope to see a few more votes for this week and would be nice if a couple new people jumped in to vote! Still haven't figured out how I want to do that so any ideas are welcome! maybe once a song has reached that threshold, if they lose their bullet then they’re gone? similar to how Billboard’s recurrent rule works? I do like this idea, and I think I'm going to adapt this somehow, I have an idea which I'll post at the end of this below! I don't want to retire songs based on the amount of weeks on the chart but I also want us to have the chance to get through albums faster than the norm so albums retiring quicker would be better in having new albums and artist be featured here. Though my response about songs retiring within the next 5 weeks wasn't about their weeks but was about the -30 score, which you did point out. Currently I have it that songs get retired if they receive -30 points, or if they have lost 100 points from their highest point total.
Going forward I am going to keep both of those with a couple of changes:
1 ~ I will only retire a max of 5 songs a week, meaning if we have more than 5 that would retire, those that have the least amount of votes for the week will receive a grace week.
2 ~ If a song hits either threshold but has continued to go up the chart they will be immune from being retired. HOWEVER if they stall or drop from their peak they will be up for retiring immediately.
Hope this makes sense and that you all like the changes I'm making. Thank you all for participating! Don't forget to check out the website, I've made some adjustments to it and am gonna work on making a couple more soon so keep an eye out for that!

Here are the ways songs will earn negative votes: Hit #1 (first week at #1 will earn 1 negative points, each week after the song will double the negative points) Receive no votes Reach week 15 and gain 1 negative vote, reach week 16 and gain 2 negative votes, and so on. Drop below its peak
The negative votes are there to ensure that the chart is constantly changing and new songs are being introduced all the time.
1st - Any song that has hit #1 will be retired immediately upon dropping out of the Top 20
2nd - Starting with next weeks chart any song that has gone 4 weeks with no votes will be retired immediately
3rd - Once a song has lost a total of 100 points from its peak it'll be retired Below are the links to vote for the next singles for each album, please vote for any and all that you are interested in participating in. For those that already voted for Dan + Shay's 2nd single the form has been updated so you can vote on single #3 now! Just remember once you've voted for a song you cannot vote a second time! Just want to re-say, if you submitted the album you chose 3 singles, you can still vote for each single. Your votes for those 2 songs do guarantee that they will be singles at some point. The new website looks great. Much smoother artist pages and its WAY easier to vote with the forms on their individual pages.
Well done!
Also, I end up forgetting what artists I vote for, so if I send multiple votes you can choose to count or ignore my duplicates LOL. Sorry about that.

I thought the forms being on the individual pages would work nicely, been wanting to do it for a while but kept putting it off. Finally got it done. Glad you like it. Also no worries about voting multiple times. Don't want to encourage that obviously but if it happens, it happens. I had the option to make it so no one could vote multiple times but didn't want to put that in because I wanted to have the option there for you to vote again once a new single comes out. If you do vote a second time it will nullify your original vote.

Here are the ways songs will earn negative votes: 1 | Hit #1
| first week at #1 will earn 1 negative points, 2nd week at #1 it will gain -2 points, 3rd week will gain -3 points, etc
| 2 | Receive No Votes
| A song gains -1 point the first week it gains no votes, the 2nd week it'll gain -2 points, etc
| 3 | Week 15+
| Once a song hits 15 weeks old it'll gain -1 point, week 16 it'll gain -2 points, week 17 will gain -3 points, etc
| 4 | Move Down
| If a song moves down at all it'll gain -1 point for each spot it loses (from 15 to 16 would be -1 point, 15 to 18 would be -3 points, etc)
| 5 | Previous top 40
| If a song peaks in the top 40 and drops out it gains negative points each week it is below the top 40.
| 6 | #1 songs retire
| Any #1 song that drops out of the top 3 will be retired immediately.
| 7 | 3 weeks no votes
| Once a song has gone 3 weeks with no votes at all they will be eligible to be retired
| 8 | Lose 100 points
| Any song that loses 100 points from its highest points total will be eligible to be retired
| 9 | Max 5 new songs
| Will not allow more than 5 songs to be retired in a single week

The negative votes are there to ensure that the chart is constantly changing and new songs are being introduced all the time. Below are the links to vote for the next singles for each album, please vote for any and all that you are interested in participating in.
