Hello everyone! Just posting an update as voting for this weeks chart technically ends tomorrow night though I won't be able to do this weeks chart until Tuesday so if you vote on Monday that will be fine as well. Next week I will be posting a new Album submit form that is so everyone can submit new albums going forward. We do need some new Groups and Duos submitted specifically. If you have 2 that you want to submit then you can submit them through the old form but the new form will be better as it gives some options to add additional tracks to an already existing album or create your own tracklisting altogether if you prefer. Also, I may make some adjustments to the chart in order to make it a little smaller and easier to post the entire chart. The main thing I'd be changing is removing the single artwork from the chart. Is that something everyone likes or would you prefer it to go? Thanks for all of your continued support! A new form sounds good and I can think of a few duos or groups to add to try and help.
Whatever is easiest for you in regards to the chart! Love this!

I think the single artwork is awesome, although I would be fine if you got rid of it. Mostly because I know not everybody is a nerd like me who literally created a single cover for every single Martina song for her album series, and then you can use those for the chart... So that means you are having to make single art for every single song you put on here except for Martina's and the occasional real hits, and I cannot even imagine you taking on that undertaking long-term.
Although if you plan to keep making cover art anyway for the songs on the website, then I guess it really isn't any extra work to just keep putting them in the weekly chart?
Since you say size is an issue, you can probably find a way to turn the whole thing into one document. When I made my personal chart in a very similar style, I was able to export it as one big PDF document, then convert it to a jpeg, and upload the jpeg to imgur so that I could finally post the whole document as one big picture. That could be something to look into if you would rather not jack up the existing format. However, like I said earlier, I am fine with whatever is best for you.

I actually do the same process for this with exporting as a pdf and converting to a jpeg. It splits the file into 5 images. I do like having the artwork, though sometimes it can be a pain so I may have it just be the name of the artist and song and no pictures sometimes. Really was just thinking having a chart without the images might make the chart smaller and then it would be a little easier to post. I like the look of the chart as is but might make some adjustments soon to the look of it. Just thinking out loud here lol

tim Terri Clark's song is "Life Goes On" now :) Ahhh...I'm just going off the Spotify playlist because it's easier for me to rank the songs from that. I guess it hasn't been updated in a while? I just went in and removed that song and added "Love Story" since that was next in line on my list anyways.

Here are the ways songs will earn negative votes: 1 | Hit #1
| first week at #1 will earn 1 negative points, 2nd week at #1 it will gain -2 points, 3rd week will gain -3 points, etc
| 2 | Receive No Votes
| A song gains -1 point the first week it gains no votes, the 2nd week it'll gain -2 points, etc
| 3 | Week 15+
| Once a song hits 15 weeks old it'll gain -1 point, week 16 it'll gain -2 points, week 17 will gain -3 points, etc
| 4 | Move Down
| If a song moves down at all it'll gain -1 point for each spot it loses (from 15 to 16 would be -1 point, 15 to 18 would be -3 points, etc)
| 5 | Previous top 40
| If a song peaks in the top 40 and drops out it gains negative points each week it is below the top 40.
| 6 | #1 songs retire
| Any #1 song that drops out of the top 3 will be retired immediately.
| 7 | 3 weeks no votes
| Once a song has gone 3 weeks with no votes at all they will be eligible to be retired
| 8 | Lose 100 points
| Any song that loses 100 points from its highest points total will be eligible to be retired
| 9 | Max 5 new songs
| Will not allow more than 5 songs to be retired in a single week
|
The negative votes are there to ensure that the chart is constantly changing and new songs are being introduced all the time. Below are the links to vote for the next singles for each album, please vote for any and all that you are interested in participating in. For those that already voted for Dan + Shay's 2nd single the form has been updated so you can vote on single #3 now! Just remember once you've voted for a song you cannot vote a second time! Just want to re-say, if you submitted the album you chose 3 singles, you can still vote for each single. Your votes for those 2 songs do guarantee that they will be singles at some point.
|
