10. Josh Turner
Points: 1018 09. Collin Raye
Points: 1018 So we actually have a two-way tie for #9/10, between new artist Josh Turner and returning veteran Collin Raye! They both racked up 1018 points this year, a feat which Josh accomplished with the right 1-2 punch of debut smashes ("Another Try" was a top 5 hit, and "Nowhere Fast" was top 10 when the year ended). Collin, on the other hand, did not have as big of hits, but he managed to rack up just as many points with his smaller chart runs! He was riding a huge wave of success as the year began with "Not That Different" placed in the top 5 immediately in the new year, and then had a series of moderate hits with "One Boy, One Girl" and "On The Verge", with "What If Jesus Came Back Like That" knocking on the door of the top 20 as the year ended. Of course Collin won the tie, because he is higher on the all-time list! After earning 1002 points in 2020 and 1389 points in 2021, this new crop of 1018 brings him up to an all-time total of 3409! (Right between Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley on the all-time list, if anyone wants to know)

08. Tim McGraw
Points: 1028 Tim McGraw is next. He may not have had as big of a year as I expected he would with his incredible Southern Voice era, but he has still always been one of our male artists who sees consistent success. Like, he's not hitting the top 10 nearly every time out of the gate like some of the ladies do, but he did manage to do it with "Still" at least this year, and then "Good Girls" and "You Had To Be There" were both moderate top 30ish hits while "It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You" was limping around the top 40 about the time the year ended. So he can thank "Still" for keeping him on the map this year I guess, lmao. 07. Mark Wills
Points: 1034 Mark Wills had a consistent year as well, with "She's In Love" and "I Do (Cherish You)" both being moderate hits this year, and "Wish You Were Here" finishing the year for him on a strong top 15 note!

06. Phil Vassar
Points: 1048 Phil Vassar stormed onto the scene in 2021 with songs like "That's When I Love You" and "Carlene" being significant hits on this chart much like they were in real life. 2022 proved to be nearly as successful for him!! "Just Another Day In Paradise" was his smash of the year, making it to juuuuust outside of the top 5. "Six Pack Summer" was also a moderate success for him, with "Amazing Grace" climbing as the year drew to a close. And of course a handful of extra points from "Like I Never Flopped Before" Which we can joke about, but the 54 points from that song are genuinely what put him into the top 10. He would have been behind Josh Turner without those points! 05. Brett Young
Points: 1094 Brett Young has been a consistent-ish mainstay on the chart for three years now. This year saw him get two significant hits with "Like I Loved You" and "You Ain't Here To Kiss Me", and "Don't Wanna Write This Song" well on its way to being successful as the year drew to a close. "Olivia Mae" gave him a few flop points as well! Most of its run landed in 2021, but it did give contribute 17 points to his 2022 total!

I think I'll pause there tonight and let y'all predict who the top 4 males will be! As well as any predictions you may have for the other categories, if you feel so inclined!

I think the Top 4 males are likely 1 Alan Jackson 2 Devin Dawson 3 Dierks Bentley and 4 George Strait.
I think Little Big Town likely snuck into the top spot for Groups with their duet with Lady A giving them a boost, and the top female was Sara!

I agree with austin that Alan, Devin, Dierks, and George will be the top 4. Not sure I agree with the order but those 4 for sure. I could see 4th, 3rd, and 2nd being in any order of the 3. Kinda do think Devin and Alan are likely the Top 2 though so I guess maybe I do agree with the order. Look forward to some more reveals bboat11

4. Dierks Bentley
Points: 1180 Kicking off the top 4, we have Dierks Bentley! Y'all correctly predicted that he would be one of the remaining artists, and it's no wonder considering the year he has had! "Bourbon In Kentucky" was a strong hit that spent about 50% of its run in 2021 and the second half came this year, while "Say You Do" and "Riser" were both solid hits as well. He is currently one of the select few males who have EVER finished at #1 on this chart due to "I Hold On" being his first chart-topper as we speak, and of course it was well on its way towards success when the year drew to a close. After only getting 770 points last year, the Riser era has been a fantastic revival for him! austin bboat11 taylor tim LBTrocks 🌺CountryLineDancer ClevelandRox d3vin44 fearlessarrow .indulgecountry Kanenrá:ke SHOOTER someguy smissy13

3. Devin Dawson
Points: 1383 Devin Dawson is indeed one of the remaining men as well, but he is not part of the top 2 as our host predicted! He had an insanely successful year, with "I Can't Trust Myself" spending most of its modest chart run in 2022, and then "Dark Horse" and "Asking For A Friend" both being massive top 2 smashes that unfortunately both ran into really bad timing at the hands of Sara Evans (the former peaked at the same time as "New Hometown", and the latter at the same time as "Missing Missouri"). "All On Me" had literally JUST began charting at the year change as well, giving him an extra 18 points at the last minute However, there were still two men who had an even bigger year than Devin! I think we know who they are, but what order are they going to finish in?? Stay tuned!

2. George Strait
Points: 1462 King George continues to absolutely dominate on this chart in about as consistent of a fashion as any man could hope! His three successful years and two successful album eras in a row have earned him 4,301 career points, which makes him the most successful male artist we have ever had on this chart by FAR. His one disappointing chart entry so far, "Look Who's Back From Town", spent just 13% of its chart run in 2022, giving him 15 points to kick off the year. Then the Love Is Everything era began, earning him two huge smashes with "When The Credits Roll" and "That's What Breaking Hearts Do", and then "I Got A Car" was also knocking on the door of the top 5 when the year ended, and when all is said and done will have undoubtedly spent most of its chart run in this year, even though the peak will kick off 2023. Look for him to continue to be the male artist to beat in 2023, considering that he is only halfway through an album that is just dripping with fan favorites deep cuts, and still potentially has a real-life #1 hit to potentially release here as well with "Give It All We Got Tonight"! 1. Alan Jackson
Points: 1512 But with all of George's success, there was a newcomer who was able to storm onto the scene and take this chart with even greater force! Prior to 2022, George Strait was the only male who was able to hit #1. That ended this year when Alan Jackson rose (extremely gracefully, easily, and naturally I might add!) all the way to #1 with "Everything I Love". That song was only his second try as well, with his debut "Between The Devil And Me" making it up to aaaaalmost the top 5 right before it. As the year ended "Little Bitty" had been hanging out at #3 for two weeks in a row, and as well all know it ended up hitting #1 as well, making him the first male artist to have ever hit #1 multiple times at all, let alone back-to-back! So while "Little Bitty"'s trip to #1 actually happened in the 2023 chart window, the majority of that song's run happened in 2022, giving Alan three huge hits in one year, which was enough to beat George's three huge hits due to them being slightly bigger smashes than George's. Plus, most people may have forgotten, but to top it all off, Alan earned an extra 5 points due to an extremely short-charting collaboration with The Wrights on "Leave A Light On" Congratulations to Alan and George, and all the other men in the top 10! This chart is not an easy place for men to find success, unlike the real world, so to see them breaking the glass ceiling like they do is admirable and fun!

This chart has given me a lot more exposure to Devin Dawson and he kinda slays? Love a lot of his stuff. I think he and Dierks are 2 to watch in 2023. I also think George and Tim may have really solid years.
Great year for Alan!!!!

10. Blackhawk
Points: 1025 Blackhawk actually managed to earn points from FIVE songs this year, which is definitely more than average! Even if it means that some of them weren't as big of hits as others, it's still impressive to chart five times in one year! "Like There Ain't No Yesterday" was their biggest hit, with "I Sure Can Smell The Rain" also being pretty strong itself. "That's Just About Right" was a minor hit, "Down In Flames" flopped so badly that it only earned 14 points on the chart, and then "I'm Not Strong Enough To Say No" entered the chart RIGHT at the end of the year, earning just 7 points before the window closed....but may end up being a hit in 2023!!! We'll see! 9. The Wilkinsons
Points: 1233 The Wilkinsons had three moderate-to-strong hits this year, but they ran into great timing, as all three of them pretty much spent their entire chart runs within this year! "Jimmy's Got A Girlfriend" baaaarely started in 2021, as it eased 92% of its points in 2022. "1999" was their strongest hit of the year, nearly making the top 5. And then "I'll Know Love" literally went recurrent two weeks before the chart closed for the year. Giving them the right timing to earn peak points with that one right when it mattered most, solidifying a spot in the top 10! 8. The JaneDear Girls
Points: 1346 The JaneDear Girls have had quite a year as well, with four songs contributing to their point totals. "Merry Go Round" split its time with 2021, but 72% of its points landed in 2022, so it can be considered a hit from this year. "Sing Along" and "Saturdays In September" were both huge smashes, and then "Lucky You" had just barely started to chart by the end of the year. This is easily their most successful year as an artist on this chart so far, which is impressive because they also weren't exactly slouches last year (they got 1260 last year vs 1346 this year)!

7. Joey + Rory
Points: 1353 Similar to The Wilkinsons, Joey + Rory ran into GREAT timing and managed to have three substantial hits within the year with minimal point-splitting between years. "God Help My Man" earned 91% of its points this year and became a significant hit, while "Farm To Fame" and "That's Important To Me" both became even bigger hits! Their fourth chart entry, "You Ain't Right", doesn't count for much (only two points, lmao) because it debuted in the last week of the year. Which means they are also won't be splitting many points with 2022 when 2023 ends! 6. Brothers Osborne
Points: 1396 Brothers Osborne kicked off the year with a huge smash hit in "It Ain't My Fault", which was their biggest hit yet! However, it did only earn 63% of its points this year, meaning much of its run was shared with 2021. After that, "Love The Lonely Out Of You" and "Heart Shaped Locket" both had long successful chart runs as well. "Loving Me Back", their collaboration with Lee Ann Womack, had only earned 78 points by the end of the year, which means that most of its points will go to 2023. So with splitting points on two of their four songs, that is a pretty good testament to just how successful "Lonely" and "Locket" were for them that they were still able to get this high on the year-end top 10!!

I did not really paid attention to The JaneDear Girls before joining this game, but I would say their outputs here have been constantly impressing me. Lucky You and Sing Along are great discoveries to me.

5. Sugarland
Points: 1477 Sugarland have always been one of the most consistently successful groups on this chart, with top 5 and even #1 never being out of the question unless they happen to run into bad timing! Their 2021 hit "Fly Away" did actually keep charting this year, long enough to earn them 40 points (7% of its overall total). Then they kicked off a new era, with "Want To" nearly making the top 5, "Settlin'" being a huge #1 smash just as it was in real life, and then the real-life album track "Happy Ending" making waves in the top 10 as the year ended. Its peak ultimately will come during 2023, but still managed to contribute 265 points to its total for this year. Earning them a spot in the top 5! 4. Maddie & Tae
Points: 1723 Look at that point gap Maddie & Tae built up between them and Sugarland tho While Sugarland was pretty successful this year, Maddie & Tae are the first group/duo to leave us that can be describes as having a wildly successful year. "Sierra" kicked off the year being a top 3 smash for them. It did split points with 2021, only earning 64% of its points in 2022, but that speaks to their level of momentum as the year began! They followed that up with Top 5 smash "Waitin' On A Plane", #1 smash "Smoke".....and then kicked off a brand new era with "Die From A Broken Heart", which ultimately hit #1 in 2023, but was already in the top 5 by the end-of-year cutoff. An insanely successful year for these ladies, giving them their most prolific year yet!

3. The Chicks
Points: 1741 The Chicks also had their most prolific year yet! "Cowboy Take Me Away" was a rapid climber that spent THREE WEEKS at #1 to kick off the year, followed by yet another #1 smash in "Goodbye Earl" and a nearly-top-5 smash in "Sin Wagon". To close out the year, "You Were Mine" was already knocking on the door of the top 10 after spending only 7 weeks on the chart. Of course that song has since already peaked at #1 in 2023, so their red-hot streak continues! It'll be interesting to see how high they can get next year. It was still only good enough to get them into the top 3 though... Let's see who was able to beat them!

2. SHeDAISY
Points: 1829 SHeDAISY being in the top 2 is pretty darn obvious, considering their streak of #1 hits that is second only to Sara Evans in terms of its impressiveness. They did it again three times this year, with "23 Days" kicking the year off with a 2-week stay at the top, followed by "In Terms Of Love" giving them a 3-week stay at the top, and finally "I'm Taking the Wheel" giving them a nice normal 1-week stay at the top. "Bring It On Back" had just barely charted by the end of the year as well, giving them 11 extra points. Its ultimate slayage will happen almost entirely in 2023. And yet, as unbeatable as SHeDAISY has always proven to be, they were in fact beaten by one group!!! 1. Little Big Town
Points: 2117 Little Big Town had an absolutely INSANE year, eclipsing 2000 points, which is something that only the biggest and the best accomplish in any given year! "Faster Gun" was a minor hit that only spent half of its run on the chart in 2022, but they kicked it into overdrive after that! They followed it up with #1 smash "Little White Church" (which also sat in the top 3 for FIVE weeks around that time as well, earning it a ton of points), another #1 smash in "All The Way Down", and one final smash that was knocking on the door of the top 10 when the year ended with "Shut Up Train". But what really put them over the edge was their extra collaboration with Lady A, "The Thing That Wrecks You", which may have only been a top 15 hit for them, but is still one extra successful feature more than SHeDAISY had, helping LBT to secure this victory!

Wasn’t at all expecting to see Lady A make the Top 10 lol, but I’m glad that I was able to help LBT snatch the crown with their collab. I wish the song itself was able to do more, but that was also likely my doing lol. Now what I’m REALLY interested in is seeing where Faith Hill ended up!!!
