Ozzy (and Billy and Snow) prove that all you need is the right feature. Or in Snow's case, the right sample and legal team (Mariah could have gotten a top 10 hit thanks to Drake's "Emotionless" if she had asked for it). Micheal Jackson also got one more top 10 to reach 30 top 10 hits, thanks to Drake.

Then Youtube finally got tired of it, which combined with strong competition... all meme songs pull the same drops actually. In My Feelings, Harlem Shake...

^ OTR isn't comparable to IMF or Harlem Shake at all. At this point in OTR's chart run, both OTR and IMF were already off the chart. And OTR is still only at 11.
And YouTube isn't tired of it considering it's still #1 there...

With radio done and sales going down, Youtube alone can't keep it at top 10 levels forever.

Yeah I don't class OTR as a meme song, still 23 weeks in the top ten is not a small feat.
No guidance has been in the top 10 for 12 weeks now without hitting the top five, I wonder if it could tie/beat Needed Me's record (16 weeks).

Imagine thinking Old Town Road flopped because it only spent 23 weeks in the Top 10 lmaooo I don't see anyone suggesting that, though. Just the shock at how quickly the song fell out of the top ten after being an incredibly dominant record breaking #1 it.

So what's more impressive, Sunflower 33 weeks in the top 10, or OTR 19 weeks at #1??

^ Old Town Road
1 > 10
Also they’re a bunch of songs in Sunflower’s area of 32/33 weeks in the top 10. There’s no song in OTR’s vicinity with the 19 weeks.

I think Sunflowers specific 33rd is equally impressive tbh. It getting 8 months in the top 10 is crazy but has been done before. But it being nearly a year old at this point and people STILL clamoring for it this long after is wild lol

In a "normal" week OTR would've dropped 5-7, but now there are 4 Post Malones above it. Not really a miracle there, just bad luck.

Props to “Doin’ Time” for staying on a second week
Also, I am annoyed that “The Man” survived but “Cruel Summer” didn’t.

It's great that both Someone You Loved and Take What You Want made the top 10. It was set up as an either/or battle earlier in the week, but it makes me happy in life when both camps are pleased!
I'm also sort of shocked OTR was knocked out of the top 10, but it's very likely to return in later weeks and could continue a rather lengthy top 10 run. It's strange because I didn't notice it left at first because Billboard didn't mention it at all in the article! (nor that Sunflower's return tied the top 10 record).

Yeah all this talk analyzing the longevity of different meme songs and other big hits and the declining metrics, when the Post bomb is the simple reason it dropped out. Don't worry, it'll return.

Lil Nas X has 2 tracks in Top 15. I doubt many would’ve predicted that would happen several weeks after 7 was released.

Just the shock at how quickly the song fell out of the top ten after being an incredibly dominant record breaking #1 it. I don’t get the shock either. Without the Post Malone bomb, it would have been 8 or 9? From 5 last week I think? Did it lose an exceptional amount of overall points this week? That’s where the real story is. If the losses trend upward, then it can be said to be falling like a rock but a positions-drop in a single week doesn’t mean a whole lot. Either way, even if the song dropped naturally out of the hot 100 now, he still has the record so haters can seethe 😎

I want circles to debut at number 4 so every respectable number single released to date would be coincidental with their peak position (sunflower being the first single peaking at #1, wow #2, goodbyes #3) we could have this coincidence for at least a week until circles obviously moves up Lmao it actually happened
