I want "Take What You Want" to go to the top 10 so that Ozzy Osbourne can get his second top 10 of his career. It would be so cool if he can get another one. His only one was a feature in 1989 with Lita Ford called "Close My Eyes Forever". I think a music video is gonna get made, people seem to really love the song. The star appeal is massive too, Ozzy, Post, and Travis is a big headline.

I'm hoping for something record shattering but ready to be dissaponted. If her comeback is even half as big as Hello was, thats Drake territory

Crazy Train's problem was it was a rock song in an era where the Hot 100 was basically a pop chart If the Hot 100 were all genre back then that may have also been top 10

Crazy Train's problem was it was a rock song in an era where the Hot 100 was basically a pop chart If the Hot 100 were all genre back then that may have also been top 10 It wasn't just that, Country and Soft Rock were dominating the Hot 100 at the time in 1981. Alot on the chart was either ballads or mid tempo and the rock that was popular on the singles chart at the time was AOR type of songs (Styx, Journey, REO Speedwagon). On the other hand, you probably are right about that because he did sell well of his "Blizzard Of Ozz" album. (went 4x Platinum, mostly due to his fame with Black Sabbath and "Crazy Train") I could add to that about other acts like AC/DC ("Back In Black" & "You Shook Me All Night Long") & Rush ("Tom Saywer" & "Limelight") that could've have their singles have higher placements on the Hot 100 as they did back in 81' if all of the genres were added, just like your example with "Crazy Train".

Take What You Want is now #2 on iTunes ahead of Circles. Seems like it'll be the highest debut from the album

That was the pop chart in 1981 - yes. "pop" is short for popular and can mean different things over time. In 1981 it meant something different than today. And you just cited other examples of songs that are bigger than what the pop chart position indicates.

Im curious of how Adele will perform on AM when her album comes. Has she performed not as well in the past? I know that some people are more successful on spotify than apple music and vice-versa Apple Music was still in its infancy when Adele's last album released. We don't really have any precedence for Adele on AM.

Apple Music was still in its infancy when Rihanna’s “ANTI” was also released.
As a matter of fact, “ANTI” wasn’t put on both Spotify and Apple Music until towards the end of its second week of release, which means that the albums true streaming numbers weren’t shown until its third week of release where it moved +80K SPS. As for “25”, it wasn’t released to streaming services until several weeks after its release also.
Rihanna may be the most Globally ‘Streamed Female Act’ by way of hard numbers but #R9 will be a testament to the true streaming power she’s garnered since her last release, the same goes to Adele also, and whether or not they have the same pull that Ariana Grande has developed since 2018.
I also highly doubt that Rihanna will not be releasing her new album to every streaming service on the first day. She’s cut significant ties with TIDAL (everybody has, except Beyonce) so they will have no room to sabotage its release.

She’s cut significant ties with TIDAL (everybody has, except Beyonce) so they will have no room to sabotage its release. Same thing happened with Views. It wasn't available to stream on Spotify till it's third week, but it, along with More Life, gave a picture of Drake's powers as a streaming force. Rihanna has shown her powers, too, especially with most of her catalog still pulling in streams, but it'd be great to have a new project out so we can really get a feel for where she stands exactly because right now, while she's still the most streamed female act by a large margin, singers like Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande are proving their worth in the streaming game. It'll also be interesting to see how Adele's next album performs on streaming platforms. Hopefully, she makes it available to stream the day it gets released. I also wish Beyonce's next studio album gets released on all streaming platforms and she quits it with the whole Tidal exclusivity nonsense. It'll really give us a chance to guage where everyone stands as streaming acts in this era.

Take What You Want is now #2 on iTunes, #2 on Spotify, and #2 on Apple Music (ahead of Circles). It's doing crazy well.
Also seems like Circles may not be doing well enough on streaming to be #1 this week.

Also seems like Circles may not be doing well enough on streaming to be #1 this week It'd suck if Circles or Goodbyes doesn't reach #1. I don't even think Post gets up to 4 songs in the top 10 at this rate. Sunflower will re-enter, Cirlces will jump positions along with Goodbyes and that might be it. Other songs might peak in the top 20 and below. I was really rooting for him to another #1. Truth Hurts is a beast. It's still increasing on radio and is steady in and streaming. I was hoping Post would be able to topple it even if only for a week, but that seems more and more unlikely as the week continues on.

TWYW will probably be the highest charting debut from the album, will it be enough for top ten remains to be seen but it has good sales, which is something that Enemies and Saint Tropez don't have.

TWYW and Enemies seem to be doing well enough to make it easily. Goodbyes and Circles both top 4, and Sunflower, TWYW and Enemies in the bottom half. Would be great if he scored at least 4 songs in the top 10.

Post's entire album is still in the top 18 on AM outside of Wow, many songs actually increasing in spots from yesterday. Very good sign for him.

Remember that "Psycho" didn't hit #1 with his album bomb but managed to later on. Nothing should be ruled out, especially not in a year like this.

I think only Goodbyes and Circles will be top 10 next week. Radio on Sunflower and WOw isn’t strong enough for them to get back in the top 10

Probably because they tend to indicate what is more popular rather than something that's only big for a week or two and drops like a rock. But they also favor songs that peak early in the year. It doesn't measure an entire chart run, so it's not a complete picture either. To say a song wasn't a hit because it wasn't one of the Top 100 songs of the year (as the OP did) is not fair. Yeah they mean a little less on the whole now because chart runs are so long. Songs that are high on YE are still huge songs, but in the 80s and even 90s plenty of songs had full chart runs in the chart year so that YE meant something. Now songs have to be released first half of the year to finish high.

For the first time, Señorita garnered less than 1 million streams in a single day on US Spotify.
