"He Talks To Me" is a really good song! It was robbed, getting all those ranks in the bottom half!!! Lorrie's vocal is beautiful, as are the lyrics. That being said, if you want to put a ballad at #1 there is always "Something In Red", "Good As I Was To You", "Dear Me", etc. "He Talks To Me" feels more forgotten by comparison. Top half would have been fitting for it though!
Consider me shook that "Do You Still Want To Buy Me That Drink (Frank)" did so well here!!!!! This song sounds like one that a couple people like @xfer might randomly love (lol I was right about that though!), and everyone else would put it in their bottom 5. I am very okay seeing this do so well though, because it is catchy as hell! Lorrie's aging vocal fits the song well, and the lyrics are hilarious!
"War Paint" is an underrated song that belonged in the top half. I had never heard it before, but it was a nice discovery. I agree that Lorrie's vocal is on point here! I'm shocked to see it get a #1 rank though when the entire rest of her commercial peak was filled with amazing songs too... Lol. I could see my self ranking it at #1 if an album rankdown ever were to happen though!
OMG did I really rank "Slow" that low??!??!?! This song is so incredibly beautiful :'( Despite Lorrie's aging vocals not being able to carry the tune quite as flawlessly as they would have when she was younger, they almost add a hint of wisdom and gravity to the lyrics that otherwise might not have been there with a younger vocalist. I am a HUGE fan of this one, and have had it on repeat pretty much since I finished my list. I definitely would have put it close to if not inside of my top 20 if I rearranged my list now!

Whoops, forgot to comment on "I Just Might Be" before I hit submit. This song has one of the most BEAUTIFUL piano intros I have ever heard in a country song!!! The entire vocal melody is quite catchy too. That "I just might be the best damn thing that you ever threw away" hook has a lot of teeth to it! It really is too bad that this one was not a big hit, because being sandwiched between "By Your Side" and especially "Good As I Was To You" indicates to me that this one should have had quite a bit of commercial appeal when it was released...

I promised bboat11 that I would try my best to get us into the top 10 by the time of Lorrie's concert on Friday, so let's dig in shall we! The first song to leave the top 25 comes in as the 9th least polarizing song of the rankdown and doesn't have a single bottom five ranking.

“Here I Go Again” was released as the second and final single from Lorrie’s eighth studio album My Heart. All but three participants put this inside their top 30 where it remained for most of its run except for one lone hiccup from George Strait Junkie who was the only one to not put this in their top 40. @xfer loses a top 10 ranking while three others lose a top 20 and top 25.

“Standing Tall” was one of three new tracks included on Lorrie’s first greatest hits compilation, Reflections: Greatest Hits, and was released as the third single. Overall this received quite a bit of support as all but two participants placed this inside their top 30. This was even a top 15 contender at point as it was buoyed by a top 10 from bboat11 along with a top 20 from George Strait Junkie . It dipped back, however, a bit as both @xfer and taylor is terrified put this out of the top 40. Thanks to another top 20 from .indulgecountry it sneaked back into the top 25 where it remained until the finish.

“Dear Me” was the second single released from Lorrie’s debut album Leave the Light On and was her first top 10 country hit in July 1989. The support for this was a mixed overall as it did receive quite a bit of top 30 support along with a handful of top 15’s and a lone top 10 from RobbyFlorida . While there were no bottom five’s both George Strait Junkie and toomuchboy put this outside of their top 40. It was the last top 15 from ClevelandRox that helped push this into a top 25 finish. This song has really grown on me ever since I featured it in the 80s Ladies of Country rankdown and I was quite surprised to see this do as well as it did here. I really had no idea what to expect with this song but overall I feel like it is leaving at a good spot.

“One of Those Nights Tonight” was released as the second single from Lorrie’s sixth studio album Shakin’ Things Up and is the first song leave from that album. This remained a top 30 contender for its entire run and even came close to flirting with the top 15 thanks to an early near top 5 from Kanenrá:ke who was also joined by bboat11 . Its trend remained steady until a lone bottom 5 from taylor is terrified pushed this back and it just was never quite able to regain its footing from there.

“By My Side” was released as the first single to Lorrie’s fifth studio album Greater Need and peaked at No. 18 in the summer of 1996. While this wasn’t able to patch its top 20 peak on the charts this did have a steady climb into the top 30 after it cleared Kanenrá:ke’s hurdle since he was the only participant to put this outside of his top 40. It began to pick up quite a bit of support thereafter including a trio of top 20’s and top 25’s. A late top 5 from toomuchboy helped to push this ever so close to finishing inside the top 20.

I wanted this song to be in my top 10 but couldn't fit it in. It should have been in the top 20 at the very least! Disappointed in those who ranked this lower than the top 20!

Honestly, I had "One Of Those Nights Tonight" at #13 initially, and I asked tim a few days later to bump it up to #6 because it kept growing on me. Honestly, I should have just had him bump it all the way up to #1! I have had it on repeat for a couple months now. This song has such an incredible groove to it, and a perfect sassy vocal from Lorrie It is also kind of deceptive in that it has a really dark, mid tempo vibe to it, so you don't even realize what a fast driving shuffle this song is until you find yourself tapping your foot faster than you expect to it. Lol. I am heartbroken to see it miss the top 20 taylor is terrified you need to give this song another chance!!!!!!!!!

So take your time Yea I had a hunch that given the location of the concert that it might end up getting cancelled. They’ve more or less implemented the same thing here in Austin but yet there’s still lots of events going on such as the Chris Stapleton concert I’m supposed to go to tomorrow night...apparently the venue isn’t specifically a part of the City of Austin so the show goes on lol. There’s still a good chance the Lorrie Morgan show will also so on but that depends on the venue and such at this point I guess.Well, guess not...just checked the venue for that show and ticket sales are on hold and it appears to have been cancelled. Sorry to hear that :'(

Sorry to hear that Well looking at the schedule it is listed as "Postponed", and some others around it are listed as "Cancelled". That gives me hope that they will be trying to reschedule it! Idk, it's all so up in the air right now. Everything is happening so quickly all of a sudden after the governor's announcement. Professional sports events happening with zero audience whatsoever, streets empty, etc. Also, just this afternoon, almost every school district around us has announced that they will be closing. Like, CLOSING closing. Like, several towns around us are closing for 6 whole weeks!!!! Meanwhile we have been proceeding unbothered. However, the superintendent just texted my dad (He's one of the high school principals) to tell him that our schooling status is a rapidly evolving situation, and she will be monitoring the situation closely tomorrow, and has scheduled an emergency board meeting for tomorrow evening to determine our district's ongoing future response to this problem. In other words, school as normal tomorrow, and then we will probably be closing for awhile too!!

My last place is still in I only put it last because it didn't really make an impression when I listened, and I didn't strongly dislike anything. So I'm apologizing early, didn't mean to tank! In other news, this top 20 is stacked. Sorry about your concert, boat. :(

Welp, right about noon today it was announced that the Chris Stapleton/Yola concert I was supposed to attend was postponed so that means I have plenty of time on my hands this evening...let's dig in for some more reveals shall we! The first song to exit the top 20 really only became a contender towards the end as it squeezed in at the last minute thanks to a lone top 10 ranking.

“Maybe Not Tonight” was released in February 1999 as the lead single and title track to Sammy Kershaw’s sixth studio album as well as the first single to Lorrie’s eighth studio album. Both of their albums were released on the same date of April 13, 1999. While initially starting out in the top 20 this got pushed outside of the top 30 thanks to a near bottom five from Kanenrá:ke . Everyone but him put this in their top 40, however, and it continued a steady climb from there on out. Both near top 10’s from George Strait Junkie and castleoblivion26 helped to push this into the top 20 for the first time but got sent back again with our second lowest ranking from taylor is terrified . It was able to bounce back yet again with a single top 10 ranking from toomuchboy and that was good enough to allow this to finish right back where it started at in the top 20.
