I am shocked by how well Graveyard debuted on US Spotify... It's her strongest solo debut there to date. I have a feeling, even though "Nightmare" drastically underperformed, her upcoming era is going to be the one to bring her to A-list "it girl" status. I don t, I think it very clear that Billie stole that title from out from under her

Without me was just a good song that’s why it was successful.

I think it all comes down to quality in the end. If Halsey releases good music, she'll be successful. It's not that deep.

Lewis Capaldi’s global breakthrough is resonating with US radio audiences.
by Brian Cantor
Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” is moving toward the top of the pop and hot adult contemporary airplay charts, and it is certainly not against the will of the audience. The latest Mediabase/Critical Mass Media callout report reveals that audiences at both formats are loving the song.
Per the latest pop report, which is based on a survey of pop listeners, the song is receiving a positive reception from 67.8% of listeners, a negative reaction from just 16.8% and thus a net positive score of 51.0%. It is also receiving a “favorite” rating from 28.8%.
Of the sixteen songs in this week’s report, “Someone You Loved” has the #4 positive score, the #3 (third-lowest) negative score and the #1 “net positive” rating. It meanwhile has the #6 favorite rating.
“Someone You Loved” is receiving even more impressive marks at Hot AC. It boasts a mammoth 83.1% positive score, a 9.5% negative score, a 73.5% net positive score (after rounding) and a 39.2% favorite rating.
Of the fourteen songs in the report, it has the #1 positive score, #2 negative score, #1 net positive score and #1 favorite rating.
“Someone You Loved” should claim #2 on this week’s Mediabase Hot AC radio chart. It has a shot at #5 on the pop chart.

I'm predicting DCMA to be around #6-#7. Very strong sales and YouTube, decent Spotify, not doing too well on AM though

I'd say Halsey already has A-list "it girl" status. In the last 3 years she's had 5 top 10 hits in lead or featured roles, two of them, Closer and Without Me, being mammoth #1's, and her last album was also #1 and ended up doing pretty well.

Music is the only entertainment media where fans believe "quality" and "popular" are aligned. It's definitely not the case when it comes to films, tv series or books. Why is it that music fans think this medium is different?

This is all true, but she's not A list to where her new releases are a guaranteed success.

OT from this chart, but Hot 100 related and I wasn't sure where to ask. What happened with the 1991 Hot 100 charts? I am looking here: americanradiohistory.com/Archive-Billboard/90s/1991/BB1991.pdfThe November 23, 1991 Hot 100 shows "Emotions" at #33, having fallen from #18. The November 30, 1991 chart, though, shows "Emotions" at #15, having been #9 the week before (which would have been the 11/23 chart). Are the old positions reflective of positions under the new rules? "Set Adrift..." is #1 on the 11/30 chart and shows it was #1 the previous week, but it also says "1 week at No. 1" so I guess so.

Yes, when Billboard converted to SoundScan on November 30th that week's Hot 100 showed the test charts for previous weeks. So we know that "Set Adrift On Memory Bliss" would have spent at least three weeks at number one had the change happened earlier. It was very confusing at the time.

I bet, though it's basically the same as what happened with the switch to allowing airplay-only songs to chart. That's a huge difference for "Emotions," too, as it was #33 on 11/23 but would have been #9 under new rules. Had they been using BDS for the 1991 chart year, or was that added then as well?
