I'm sure Adele will debut high with her previous biggest sales and yes The Weeknd is a good question here, depends on what he will release. But what about Charlie Puth, why "I Warned Myself" and "Mother" are underperforming? 😐 What about OneRepublic, "Wanted" and "Somebody to Love" which are high on iTunes. Could they chart? Charlie Puth was never a reliable hitmaker. i guess you forgot: see you again, attention, how long...

Not sure but it appears Most of the chartbeat articles have been locked down to just subscribers I can get in because I am a subscriber but is anyone else having issues? Yeah. Aside from the Hot 100, Billboard 200, and Artist 100 charts, all of the articles related to those charts, and all of the year-end charts, everything else relating to charts appears to be locked to only subscribers. That said, some of the current charts can still be accessed using bdsradiocharts. I had been able to access the Digital Song Sales, Radio Songs and Streaming Songs charts about 4 hours but they got locked down as well ...

They also still have yet to update the GOAT list on the "Greatest of All Time" chart while getting rid of the interactive 60th anniversary chart If you search up "greatest of all time billboard interactive" and click on the first site, you still get the non-interactive version for free.

I mean, I have a few seconds before it locks up, so technically, I can find positions for a song I want to know if I look quick enough. Unfortunate they locked up a ton of stuff though. We were even given the Bubbling Under for free recently, and now they took away more than what was previously available before that change.

OMG Billboard is so effin lame!!!
You know they're on the downfall when they start charging to see their major charts that they've been making available for free for years. I used to be a subscriber but stopped because their archive/search features became incompetent - I could never find what I wanted to see. This just makes me want to not subscribe to them even more!

Well to be fair there is revenue here they have been missing out on. This is the first time that I can remember where there actually has been a significant difference between what you get for free and what you pay for.

That's some actual a$$, of course they'd make it subscription required for the Hot Latin Songs chart...

They also did it the Canadian Hot 100 as well! Japan Hot 100 is locked on the English site, but not the Japanese site. Which I find interesting.

Does anybody know if they released an article about this change prior to implementing it?

They didn't announce that they changed up all the charts the first time, they just did it. But when they changed billboard.biz to a business site, they had a pop up that everything was free for a limited time but they did not clarify what that meant

Extremly disapointed with this new subscription system. Charts that I've been able to view since 2013 are now locked :/

Well this kinda sucks considering I’m an 18 year old college student without the funds to pay for Billboard, and I remember from that one thread where everyone mentioned their birthday #1 that there’s quite a few people who are probably in the same predicament as me on Pulse.

Fun Fact: Hello was the first song to ever break 2 million streams on Spotify on its debut day, and it did it with 2.6 million. In 2015. The only other artist to do that from 2014-2016 was Drake with One Dance.

I guess Billboard is low on funds. It doesn't really affect me because I view the other charts as mere extensions, but I can see it becoming a minor annoyance in the future.

The charts were not free for like 80 years, so unlimited access of the internet really took a toll on BB's bottom line. They must have decided enough was enough…?
Still, the ad revenue will go down once those millions of chart geek hits / refreshes disappear on Mondays.

Seems like a lot of things are getting locked behind pay walls. News, scientific studies, now the US charts. Oh, well. I can still view Oricon for free.
