Does it really matter? A new album will probably immediately follow after a lead single. The only label execs who will be nervous are those who still have artists who plan to release albums before 2019 is over. just asking a question... I know. I was just furthering the conversation.

DaBaby released a New Song, probably his first non-brag rap song, which might push it even more as he's not really known for Lyrical depth or whatever. I feel like it'll be put back a little purely because it's named "Intro" not that much though. #19 on AM.

Capaldi may top the chart on this month before Adele releases Hmmm, this can be possible. And I'm down with it.

These few slow weeks before big albums by whoever will release in Q4 are the ones Post Malone should take advantage of, yet can't see any of his songs being top 3. Both of his singles already has a video so it all comes down to how high Circles can go on airplay. I think it all comes down to how high his songs can get on radio

2M plays for Maroon 5 on Spotify WW according to play count (it's #1 song on New Music Friday playlist). Safe to say that this won't touch top 40 without gigantic radio deal and a video.

They probably won't score another real hit till they feature another popping black artist on one of their songs like they've been doing since 2012.

Yeah, they haven't had a top ten hit on Hot 100 without featuring artists since Sugar (2015).

Memories is cute. We will see if it develops into a hit. I'm a M5 fan and I had no clue they had music even coming so...
Is there a new album coming? Or is this just a one off?

Seeing as their last album came out in 2017, I'd imagine the release of this new single foreshadows the coming of their new album. It's being treated like a lead single.

Panini has slowly climbed to #2 on Spotify! I'm surprised but that's where the remix power comes to factor.
Maroon 5 debuts at #16.

Lmao @ Memories debuting with 836k streams and INTRO debuting with 644k streams on Spotify (while the former is at #58 and the latter is at #5 on AM). Really highlights the difference between the consumer bases on both platforms.

Radio: 99. Maroon 5 - Memories oh no You mean "oh yes yes yes". Just heard the track and it was awesome. The last time I heard something that caught my attention was Jonas Brothers "Sucker", so I'd be hoping this one does well.

Don't call me angel is totally going to collapse lol I was hoping it'd be a hit, but that's more for my girl Lana. The song itself is absolute garbage.

Panini has slowly climbed to #2 on Spotify! I'm surprised but that's where the remix power comes to factor. Panini's still #3 because Ransom also has a remix with Juice WRLD on it. There's a 200k gap between Panini and Circles though. I think Lil Nas X has good chances of surpassing Posty.

Don't call me angel is totally going to collapse lol First "Power Is Power" and now this... Although the former never got as big as "Don't Call Me Angel". It's interesting to see the lack of longevity and commercial success that soundtrack singles are having this year compared to last year. With the exceptions being "Shallow" and "Sunflower" of course.

I don't think the movie has much to do with DCMA underperforming at this point.

at Behind Barz being the #1 track on Rap Caviar btw Spotify surely loves Drake. Post Malone is also on the playlist with Enemies.

I think it has more to do with Rap Caviar and how they automatically offer playlist support to rap songs by the biggest mainstream rappers. I'm surprised it's #1, though. The bars on the song aren't bad, but it's not a great rap song either.

They probably won't score another real hit till they feature another popping black artist on one of their songs like they've been doing since 2012. Yeah, they haven't had a top ten hit on Hot 100 without featuring artists since Sugar (2015). The second quote is more accurate, but not the first. After Payphone, they had a SLEW of major top 10 hits without any features at all (forget about what type) from 2012 to Sugar in 2015: One More Night, Daylight, Love Somebody, Maps, Animals, and Sugar, so sorry thegreatdivine but you are just factually inaccurate there. The singles from Red Pill Blues, including Don't Wanna Know and on, however, I'll admit there's a point there, however I would say Kendrick wasn't a major draw on Don't Wanna Know, and he didn't really add much to the song - it probably would've been a hit without him.

85la I'm aware of Maroon 5's history of solo hit records. I used Payphone with Wiz Khalifa as an example because it marked the beginning of their album collaborations with black artists. They've scored tons of solo hits since then, but it's been widely noted that they tend to collaborate with whatever black artist is hot at whatever time they're making a new album. I'm almost certain their forthcoming album will have a song featuring Lizzo. Their last album had features from A$AP Rocky, Future, Kendrick Lamar and SZA. Sugar had a remix that featured Nicki Minaj. Girls Like You had a remix that featured Cardi B. I didn't point it out to insinuate that it was a bad thing. It's something my friends online tease them about sometimes and I just happened to mention it here.
