Justin has a performance at Irving Plaza in NYC on 1/31. On his IG, he previewed what appears to be an intro to another song. The clip sounds OK.

I ordered the deluxe edition of the vinyl from his website and am planning on getting a ticket for the tour in Austin. Hoping for excellence!

I know not to expect gripping, real television from Jimmy Fallon but I do think Justin would be wise to go on some sort of interview where he can actually address some of the allegations around him. Even if it's just a "I fucked up when I was young", it would still calm down waters a bit.

There's no way he's only doing 22 dates in NA. Like no way.

I know not to expect gripping, real television from Jimmy Fallon but I do think Justin would be wise to go on some sort of interview where he can actually address some of the allegations around him. Even if it's just a "I fucked up when I was young", it would still calm down waters a bit. This almost never works and would most likely come off as him trying to make amends while promoting a new single, album and tour. If he was going to do that, it should have been done a decade ago if not sooner. He waited too long to address this, sadly. I know there was the statement about Janet and Britney a few years ago, but that was only prompted after the release of the Britney documentary in 2021. There's three sides to this. The Britney/Janet stans who will never let him live down what he did to those women, the hardcore JT stans who think it's water under the bridge at this point and the general public who probably doesn't think twice about any of it and couldn't care less about what happened 20+ years ago. At the end of the day, if he doesn't get a streaming hit, his album will probably debut to decent numbers and fall off within 2-3 weeks. I just don't know what a Justin Timberlake opening week would like in 2024... MOTW opened with 293K in 2018 and I sincerely doubt he'll be able to match that at this point. I think like other "legacy" stars of his caliber that the tour will probably do great. He's not going for stadiums and it's reasonable that he'd sell out a place like MSG just from casual fans. Would not be surprised in the slightest to see him head to Vegas after the run is completed. He'd make a killing over there.

I have to disagree. The problem with Justin right now is that he seems completely tone deaf, and his apologizes have always seemed insincere and inadequate considering his very consistent behavior and mistreatment of the women in question. You can't say I'm sorry for my behavior and the part I played in these actions, and then in the very next concert appearance call the same women bitches and mock the pain they experienced that was directly caused by your actions.
I don't think there is really anything Justin can do to make his actions up to Janet, especially considering how much Janet did to support him early on in his career. A lot of people misremember that Janet was one of the first features on his debut album, and she also brought him as a key act during the Super Bowl only for him to immediately throw her over the bus, when he initially took all the credit saying "we have to give America something to talk about." That immediately turned in to "it was all Janet's idea, I didn't know what was happening, I am sorry but it was all her please give me my Grammy's." Another problem is also that he continues to poke at the bear and wound of the event, which is also why people are continuously outraged. His Super Bowl performance should never have included a repeat performance of Rock Your Body. Again he just comes across as cluelessly tone deaf, and like he doesn't know how poorly his actions could be construded.
The Britney situation is even more insidious, and just gross. At the very least he could retire songs like Cry Me A River and What Goes Around Comes Around, and take down their revenge porn inspired music videos, to at least show some shame and contrition. Those songs are filled with misogyny and have aged terribly in light of Britney's memoir. It wouldn't make what he did better, but it would at least acknowledge that he has some shame and regret about what happened, what he did, and how it all went down. Till then it's just going to continue to drag him down.
Ultimately, I do think Justin could have won the PR war on this had he released a statement, interview, and pledged to support some continuous charity work for women either in the music industry or just generally to show that yes, his actions were misogynistic and wrong, but he wants to make a better world in 202x going forward. He skipped all that, and now it's still in the room whenever anyone brings his name up, and people will continue bringing it up which takes away focus from his music products and releases.
If he ends up going to Vegas it would be crazy, seeing as he dragged Britney for doing Vegas about a decade ago, and how residencies were so beneath an artist like him at the time. The fact that she would have created the atmosphere for him to even do one is just another instance of him attacking the artist that helped put him on the map as a solo act.

He rewrote the story to use Britney to become famous. It doesn't help that he's said and done nothing. He either doesn't think it's a big deal or time will make it go away which I don't think it will. I think he's so full of himself that he can't see what he continues to do is not appropriate.
As a fan, I just keep waiting for him to say something, and the more time passes the more his true colours show. The worst part is, I like his new song but I always think of Britney and Janet when I listen to his music now.
I think his PR team is more focused on "let's put out a beautiful song about love, put you on Jimmy to show the audience you're still the same down to earth person and then SNL to show that you're still funny to sweep it all under the rug." I don't think it's working.

Everything in your post is exactly what Mike is referring to. Those are the feelings of a very online stan, not anybody else. I’ll rephrase this. It would be very easy for Justin to apologize and show genuine commited action for the damage he played in Britney and Janet’s careers. The problem is that Justin doesn’t think he did anything wrong and that shows in his actions, words, and behaviors. Every statement Justin has made about the encounters with these women feels like his PR team forced him to say something to minimize backlash against him, at specific opportune times rather than him believing he should feel sorry about his actions. If he took any of the steps I outlined that would show he was contrite. He hasn’t, he won’t, and it’s because he doesn’t care.

What some stans fail to understand is that nobody gives a damn about Britney & Janet incidents apart from their stans. If Justin flops, it's because he took long breaks, released subpar music, etc. Tour ticket sales would be a good indicator of his popularity and where he is with GP at the moment.

I have never understood these long breaks. Not to compare him with other acts but others who started after him have released more albums and are fairly consistent.

I think they got bored with music and want to explore other areas. Justin tried it with movies and probably didn't find what he hoped for (or fulfilled his dream of being an actor). While he's on break, Bieber, The Weeknd and Bruno Mars got more popular and stronger and people moved on.

Wasn’t expecting Sanctified to be a song he performed. Definitely feeling some gospel vibes while hearing this song for the first time.

Actually, more like Amnesia x Only When I Walk Away hybrid. Tobe's addition was unexpected, but cool. I'm definitely excited for the album, especially because Selfish and Justified are vastly different in every way. Oh...I forgot to mention...he (and everyone else on that SNL stage) performed the HELL out of Sanctified. THAT is what I want to see. Energy!

Justin was by far the most popular member of NSync who came out at the same time as Britney or a dot earlier. I’m not saying he’s a great person or anything, but she didn’t make him famous. Neither did Janet???? People were all about him without their names attached. Especially Janet. He was already huge before Nipplegate? He had a sold out tour with XTina and selling millions of records. Again I’m not saying he didn’t do some crappy things, but these women didn’t make him famous??

Got my tickets for Raleigh today! He's adding second shows in several markets (Seattle, Chicago, Boston, NYC to name a few), so clearly there is some demand for him still.
He also confirmed on Kelly Clarkson that NSync has been back in the studio! 2025 30th Anniversary here we come!
