There's no Madonna, Mariah Carey, Elvis Presley or Prince in this rankdown! They must be less successful then Wiz Khalifa then! The Lumineers too

I was talking about the 2010s, not music history overall. Of course it was a joke (that post about jealousy), but it is also a fact that people here can't stand Sheeran, and that's fine.

80. Perfect: A nice song that I enjoy a lot. I'm a sucker for love ballads and I usually enjoy Ed Sheeran's ballads.
79. Shape Of You: When it comes to Ed Sheeran's music, it's usually great or overrated, and this one is quite overrated imo. It's a nice little tune, but did not deserve to be the biggest song of 2017.
78. Psycho: This is so boring. I can get into a few Post songs, but this is just not interesting in the slightest.
77. All of Me: Still a sucker for the love ballads.
76. 7 Rings: Not gonna write a paragraph about why this is really bad. But to make it short, the lyrics suck, her vocals are mediocre, and the trap production just doesn't sound good at all.
75. Can't Stop The Feeling: FAR from JT's best, but I still enjoy it. I think it's quite fun.
74. Bodak Yellow: Not the worst thing I've heard from Cardi B, but it's still one of the most obnoxious songs of its year.
73. Happier: The video though. :'( Marshy's production is pretty generic but I love Dan Smith's voice here. And with things like "Light It Up" and "One Thing Right" in existence, this is one of his better recent releases.
72. Thinking Out Loud: See #80 and #77.
71. Lucid Dreams: I was never a fan of this. I see the appeal but it's just not my thing.

Even though Thinking Out Loud was my 100, I do like some of his songs. Antisocial went top 5 on my personal chart last year and it still bumps to this day

Whats with all the hate for Roar?. If any Katy song shoyld go, its Dark Horse, which aged very poorly and is probably one of Katy's worat pre-2017 singles. California Gurls & Roar deserve to go top 50 though. Great songs that have aged pretty good IMO
I didnt do the rankdown, but i have been looking at the rankdown so far. Psycho ahould have been bottom 20 IMO, same with 7 rings. Both songs are so boring, bad production, bad vocals. 80-90 range would have been good for them. I like some of Post & Ariana's music but those songs are not good. Also, Without Me would have been my #100 probably, such a annoying & iritating chorus. Watch Me would have been #99 for obvious reasons

Upvoting for these three opinions, especially the first and last ones. And yeah, that's definitely the worst line coming from a hit song this decade, because we can expect gross stuff to come out from the likes of 6ix9ine, Chris Brown, or even Rick Ross (just remember the whole 'molly on her drink' controversy), but to have someone like Ariana saying something so insensitive, especially given the constant class struggle everywhere in the world, is just despicable. I have nothing against flexing (just see my opinions on "Bodak Yellow", which is pretty strong), but the way Ariana does it doesn't come across as someone who earned their fortune after years living under hard conditions (which is why rappers flex about money and possessions in the first place). Instead, she comes across as an entitled and spoiled rich brat who's shoving her fortune down our throats ('Black card is my business card; the way it be settin' the tone for me') and using the traumatic events in her life as an excuse, which is downright manipulative (and even worse on her follow-up single, the equally morally corrupt "break up with your girlfriend, I'm bored"). And this song indeed has no shred of irony, as you can see by the music video. Madonna made sure to stress the satire of "Material Girl" through its music video, but Ariana's message is direct and clear. The song doesn't make sense within the album and much less as a stand-alone single, and it worries me to see how popular it became, to the point it's become Ariana Grande biggest Billboard hit. She could have done an anthem for shopping or retail therapy or how your friends will always be there for you over failed relationships, but "7 rings" is a pure, unapologetic materialistic anthem, which is so disappointing coming from a former fan's perspective. Explained that way better than I ever could. Thank you so much! 😊

I'm afraid I can't help you there, being a fairly new member myself. I'm sure someone here with more experience hosting rankdowns (and hence calculating closeness) will be able to help you, though. 😉

Being last on Closeness excluding the Decade-End list? Eek I think that’s the effect of appreciating songs Pulse hates or generally hated. I really like Post Malone, I really do, but “Psycho” is just awful. Looking af the other Post singles, it feels different. What surprised me is that I ranked “Psycho” lower than someone that hates Post in general (Hi Leo ✔) “Lucid Dreams” deserved Top 50 though, both in this Rankdown and in the actual list.

I never get perfect rankings. It's almost impressive lmao
At least half of my bottom half is out. I think this round nearly cleared most of those out. Still waiting for 3 of my bottom 4 (I think) to clear. I suspect it'll be a while before they're all gone.
I enjoy Ed but the three songs representing him in this aren't what I choose when I want a touch of that ginger goodness. Totally okay they're all out - and in the right order too.

Oof at me having the least top 10s left. Didn’t realise Happier, Psycho and Without Me were so hated. Lots of songs that are either polarizing or do decently in year-end rankdowns did poorly in the 2000's decade-end rankdown, so I imagine it's the same on this. I'm kind of surprised "Payphone" is still in (not that I'm complaining). On that note, I'm pleasantly surprised a lot of my low ranks got out in the past two sets, even though I do still enjoy them a lot. My rankings were quite close to their ranks on the rankdown, so I actually thought I'd be doing better in closeness. Weird. Glad to see "Stay With Me" and "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)" f**king off from the rankdown.

Just curious, but what song do you guys think will place #1 on this chart?. I think Somebody That I Used To Know will probably rank #1, but it could be something else. Personally, i think Someone Like You by Adele should rank #1, with Forget You by Ceelo Green at #2. Havana, California Gurls and Uptown funk would also probably rank top 10 if i ever did a rankdown
EDIT: Oh, and "Payphone" would probably be my #3. I actually forgot that song made rhe decade end until now

Stitches is a nice song even though I don't listen to it as much these days.
ALSO I NEVER HIT THE REFRESH BUTTON BUT IT REFRESHED AND NOW I HAVE TO REDO EVERYTHING!
#80: Perfect (#30): The overplay really never killed it for me because I only heard it on countdown shows like AT40. It's still a nice listen. The original is superior to both remix.
#79: Shape Of You (#79): While I'll take the perfect ranking I'm baffled that you guys let this beat Perfect. Sorry, I lost faith in y'all.
#78: Psycho (#49): This is nice but his latest songs are much better and this is pretty weak compared to them.
#77: All Of Me (#43): Overranked this quite a lot.
#76: 7 Rings (#81): ANOTHER pleasant surprise. I thought this would be in the top 10 so I'll GLADLY take this out.
#75: CAN'T STOP THE FEELING! (#15): This is such a fun song to listen to. This burned on me slightly but I still REALLY like this. It did what "Happy" failed to do.
#74: Bodak Yellow (#91): I will forever hate this song for shooting CARDI B to fame. She is such a bad rapper and this song just sucks a lot. I will give her credit, "I Like It" is a bop.
#73: Happier (#13): Cmon! This is such a bop! The music video makes this even more heartbreaking. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though.
#72: Thinking Out Loud (#59): Burned on me a lot but it's still alright to listen to.
#71: Lucid Dreams (#20): RIP Juice WRLD. I liked this a LOT even before he died and I still like it a lot.
