Here's week 21 of my 2020 year end predictions. I added a few country songs on the list due to how many of them are gaining on the charts.

If Blinding Lights could be the #1 song of the year that would be so great, it needs to just keep growing and snowball into a super #1 hit

If I had to guess, my money would be on Blinding Lights. It's that perfect scenario like Circles where it's a very radio friendly song that also has big streaming, (and a big album to push it).
Its release timing was practically perfect for the 2020 chart year as well, it's whole chart run fits in nicely.

Its release timing was practically perfect for the 2020 chart year as well, it's whole chart run fits in nicely. โThe Boxโ is so obviously the #1 song of the year, Iโm not sure why this board is going through hoops to downplay it. Its performance so far has literally been just like โShape of You.โ A commanding #1 hit for 10+ weeks in the first quarter of the year. Unless something as big as โOld Town Roadโ comes along, itโs going to be nearly impossible to take it down. Donโt get me wrong Iโm a huge fan of The Weeknd, but thereโs no way โBlinding Lightsโ is as dominant as โThe Box,โ nor will it ever be. People on this board for whatever reason have a hard time swallowing Hip Hop songs being in the lead. Reading all these hopes and denial of its domination is rather amusing. Weโre at a DNC level of delusion at this point.

Based on whatโs locked so far and whatโs coming this year and 2019 are so much better than the past couple years beforehand.

do you guys think Make No Sense could break the 20 week rule and become the next Talk You Out of It? because i think there's a chance it can, seeing as it's gaining on radio
granted it would need to break the rule at least as many times as El Perdon did if not more, but i still think it could happen especially in the unlikely event that it breaks into the top 50

Guys, I've just realized something. Circles by Post Malone is the new Smooth by Santana/Rob Thomas. A massive smash hit Rock crossover that spanned the end of one decade and the beginning of another, while having an absurdly long run in the Top 10 (also, both are really good, so they have that in common too).

Songs to make the year-end Top 10:
The Box by Roddy Ricch Circles by Post Malone Donโt Start Now by Dua Lipa Blinding Lights by The Weeknd Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi
Life is Good is dropping faster than expected but it still could make it as well.

You two: tell me with a straight face that Circles is less of a rock song than the following songs currently in the top 10 of Hot Rock:

While it does lean pretty heavily towards the Pop side, I'd still say that Circles has enough Rock elements to count as a Rock song, albeit a softer one. My point being, if 70s Yacht Rock counted as rock, then so does Circles.

But I feel like elements of Rock were applied to "Circles". So I guess, its a hybrid of pop and soft rock.

Circles isnโt rock. Like at all. Sadly, "Circles" isn't a rock song. It leans more to pop. But if you're talking about Post Malone songs that sounded like a Rock song, look no further than "Take What You Want". You two: tell me with a straight face that Circles is less of a rock song than the following songs currently in the top 10 of Hot Rock: The only criterium to be considered ''rock'' according to the charts is to make music under a groupname.

If "Blinding Lights" ends up at #1, it'll be the first YE #1 I love and possibly my favorite of the millenium so far Imagine if this happens. Although I won't be mad if "Blinding Lights" doesn't become YE #1, "The Box" is good toรณ.

Songs to make the year-end Top 10: The Box by Roddy Ricch Circles by Post Malone Donโt Start Now by Dua Lipa Blinding Lights by The Weeknd Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi Life is Good is dropping faster than expected but it still could make it as well. No chance for LIG, also SYL seems unlikely SYL is still in the Top 20 five months into the new chart year, I don't think it's that far off to say it'll end up somewhere in the Top 10.
