I finally got around to listening to In Your Eyes by The Weeknd. It's basically I Feel It Coming 2.0, but considering that I Feel It Coming was #4 on my Best of 2017 list, that's not such a bad thing.

i'm gonna be so pissed if either I Don't Care or Kinfolks make the year end but both of them probably will at this point If Kinfolks re-charts this week, then its chances will be pretty likely assuming the charts stay weak for the rest of the year. If it doesn't rechart, then its chances will still be possible instead of unlikely due to the current circumstances. As for I Don't Care, although I still think it will miss, I wouldn't be surprised if the cutoff became that low to allow it to scrape in (the most extreme case scenario would be songs with 1500 points making the 2020 year end list).
I thought that Coronavirus would've made radio weaker (less people in their cars) and streaming stronger (what better to do under quarantine than go on Spotify or YouTube), not the other way around.

I think the reason why radio has not fallen was because Billboard has not adjusted for more accurate audience numbers. Because of this, points from radio has stayed the same despite streaming points going down. This is why so many country songs have high positions, despite not being that strong at all, since other songs that rely on streaming have fallen while they stay the same since most country songs rely on the radio.

Week 22 - 04/18/2020
Drake coming in with another number 1 debut, otherwise this is a pretty uneventful week, even with the small Rod Wave album bomb. Demi Lovato's I Love Me enters my predictions despite little movement on the chart, which gives me an excuse to explain how I calculate my predictions, which I'll do below my usual stuff so people can just skip it if they're not interested!
Current Status (175.000 Points to be considered "Locked", 100.000 Points to be added to the playlist):
Added this week: Jordan Davis - Slow Dance In A Parking Lot Lil Mosey - Blueberry Faygo Carly Pearce & Lee Brice - I Hope You're Happy Now
Drop-Outs this week: None
Locked this week: Justin Bieber ft. Quavo - Intentions Doja Cat - Say So
Currently lowest Locked song: Luke Combs - Even Though I'm Leaving
Predicted to lock within the next 5 weeks: Eminem ft. Juice WRLD - Godzilla (1 week) Halsey - You should be sad (1 week) Gabby Barrett - I Hope (2 weeks) Russ & BIA - BEST ON EARTH (3 weeks) Lil Baby - Sum 2 Prove (4 weeks) H.E.R. ft. YG - Slide (4 weeks) Blake Shelton Duet With Gwen Stefani - Nobody But You (5 weeks) (note: songs like Tusa and Ridin' Roads would also be locked within 5 weeks if they kept gaining like they are now, but both songs are predicted to drop out because of the 20 week rule before they'd be locked)
Predicted Positions for Locked Drop-Outs: Lil Baby - Woah (55)
Predictions (Must reach 175.000 points after 10 weeks in the same position):
Added this week: Drake - Toosie Slide Demi Lovato - I Love Me Carly Pearce & Lee Brice - I Hope You're Happy Now
Drop-outs: Luke Bryan - What She Wants Tonight The Weeknd - After Hours Jake Owen - Homemade
The base formula is pretty simple - Current Points + (Points Gained x Weeks Remaining). Now, both CP and PG are pretty self-explanatory, but to decide how much weeks worth of points I add to the song, I basically use the following rules:
- IF a song has only been charting for less than 5 weeks, I add 10 weeks. (this is mostly to tone down flashes in the pan that debut high and then fall off hard, like with album bombs) - IF a song has been charting between 5 and 10 weeks, I add 20 - current # of weeks to simulate the 50/20 rule. - Once a song has charted for 11 weeks or more, there are 2 options: - IF a song is in the top 50, add 10 weeks - IF a song is below the top 50, add 20 - current # of weeks - Finally, for songs that have been charting a very long time, I take the smallest value between 10 and 52 - current # of weeks For a bit more clarification, I'll take a few random songs that fit each of those respective criteria to show what I mean. Megan Thee Stallion - Savage: Has charted for 4 weeks, which is less than 5, so it gets 10 weeks worth of points added. Demi Lovato - I Love Me: Has charted for 5 weeks now, so it gets 15 weeks (20-5) worth of points added. Gabby Barrett - I Hope: Has charted for 15 weeks now and is in the top 50, so it gets 10 weeks worth of points added. Halsey - You should be sad: Has charted for 13 weeks now and is below the top 50, so it gets 7 weeks (20-13) worth of points added. Post Malone - Circles: Has charted for 32 weeks now, so it gets 10 weeks (52-32=20, which is bigger than 10) worth of points added. Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved: Has charted for 48 weeks now, so it gets 4 weeks (52-48, which is smaller than 10) worth of points added.
Because of rules 1 and 2, songs will get a large boost once they chart for 5 weeks, as their weeks added jump from 10 to 15, which is what happened to I Love Me this week. I do hope this wasn't too tedious to read, but I figured it might be somewhat interesting to know my process(?)

I would suggest that You should be sad is more likely to miss than make it at this point.

I would suggest that You should be sad is more likely to miss than make it at this point. It's already got enough points to make the bottom of the list. Even if it starts dropping in chart positions, I'd say it'll at least be ahead of Juicy by the time it leaves.

^It's a shame radio decided to drop it so quickly. But I'm glad it will make it.

Even if it starts dropping in chart positions, I'd say it'll at least be ahead of Juicy by the time it leaves. Well this is what my (officially 2019's most accurate 😉) numbers say: - It has 1586 points. - Last year the cutoff was approximately 1693 points. - Last week it got 108 points, this week it got 91 points. It's currently losing ~3 million in audience a day. It would need to chart for 2 more weeks to surpass 1693 points. At its current rate of dropoff, there is a good chance it will not chart another 2 weeks. Of course there is a chance it could make the year end with fewer points than that if the cutoff was lower this year.

For the Billboard calendar year up to and including the week of April 18, 2020, my predictions: I did not foresee Roddy Ricch having two tracks in the top ten. Ballin will likely remain in the top ten until Blinding Lights inevitably kicks it out. We're about 2 or three weeks away from the half-way point of the Billboard calendar year. So whatever the points are for the #50 song next week or so will probably be sufficient to make the top 100 of the entire year. A fairly good estimate of what the cut-off point will be.

Early Predictions: Sunday Best by Surfaces, death bed by Powfu ft. beabadoobee, and Supalonely by BENEE ft. Gus Dapperton will all make the year end 100. Tik tok staples

if You Should Be Sad stays on for at least two more weeks I think it should be safe to make it, but I’m not sure how likely that is to happen. If this week is its last, it should be borderline with it being more likely to miss than make it, and if next week is its last, it should be borderline but with a slightly higher chance of making it

Definitely on the knife edge.

Definitely on the knife edge. it’s 47 for me but I exclusively use an inverse point system and have not accounted for the corona-related decrease in overall points for recent chart weeks

Idk if Godzilla is gonna be able to make the year end list. If it can last 3 more weeks it'll be good but it seems to be falling kinda fast. When Music To Be Murdered By first dropped I never would have thought any song from it would be in the year end conversation

Godzilla will make it. It isn't falling that fast, it's just having a bit of a dropoff from the false position that the music video put it in.
