Why this talk is happening? Because the chart/Mariah is on the verge of setting some new records and it makes people nervous. Records that will probably stand for 20, 30, 40 years to come. Yeah, records are fun, but not that deadly fun.

It's really sad that this child is dead and may he rest in peace but it's really not festive that this is gonna keep Mariah from getting her multiple weeks at #1. Billboard needs to modify the rules. This is ridiculous. Billboard doesn't owe Mariah jack shit. If Lucid Dreams turns into the biggest hit of the week of Christmas, than so be it.

Lizzo just dropped her new updated music video for Good As Hell. Could this be the final push she needs to get her 2nd #1? She's already on top of radio, this will probably give her a huge push in streams and potentially sales.

This is ridiculous. What the F*CK are you talking about? Boy... If you don’t have a stadium of seats. Someone’s passed and there’s a chance that a single of theirs may posthumously top the charts and you’re groaning about a 25 year old Xmas song missing number one? 💀

She's well behind in streaming, and airplay at Top 40 seems to have peaked. These things happening mid-week continue to puzzle me, but maybe they realize next week and Christmas week (when she's on SNL) are a lost cause so they put it out now.

Modify what rules? Your post seems to be saying you want them to keep old songs from re-entering when someone dies, but it's ok with holiday songs re-entering each year despite being old? Anyway, isn't it a bit early to say "LD" will go to #1? Will streams hold? It 'missed' the first 2 days of the streaming week and won't have much airplay. It's not the same thing, you said it yourself. HOLIDAY music has a different set of rules for a reason. If he ever said anything about holiday music having a different set of rules, it was to change the way HOLIDAY music would rechart on the charts, not posthumous ones.

Ugh.
I can’t wait for that damn Xmas song to possibly top the charts... and then not have to hear about it for another 11/12 months. FFS!

Lol @ people being so sad about his death. Why are we celebrating someone who obviously died of a drug related seizure? It’s his own damn fault.

Lol @ people being so sad about his death. Why are we celebrating someone who obviously died of a drug related seizure? It’s his own damn fault. It’s sad that you don’t even understand why. People loved him, he had fans and supporters from all across the world so of course people would be sad. Also, some people suffer from mental health issues. It’s a real thing that some people sadly can’t control and i’m not saying him choosing to do drugs is not his fault, but what if he had thoughts that maybe that was his escape or relief or something. So let people have their mourning and respect it instead of trying to think its a joke because let’s see if you say the same thing when you lose someone you love.

Yikes at the lack of empathy in here. You don’t have to like his music but why try to dictate others for being sad about it? You’re not edgy dude.

Lucid Dreams is the only song that's recurrent, so everything else can re-enter below 50. I'm expecting LD #1, Bandit, 6 Kiss, Hate Me & Ransom see significant gains, and around 10 re-entries. Also, Here's a total chart of his songs' performances yesterday Song | Apple Music | Spotify | Lucid Dreams | #1 | #1 | Bandit | #2 | #2 | All Girls Are The Same | #4 | #7 | Legends | #5 | #5 | Robbery | #6 | #4 | 6 Kiss | #9 | #70 | Lean Wit Me | #15 | #15 | Empty | #17 | #48 | Armed and Dangerous | #21 | #18 | Hear Me Calling | #25 | #56 | Wasted | #29 | #40 | Fine China | #33 | #63 | Black & White | #40 | #39 | Fast | #43 | #54 | Maze | #46 | N/R | No Bystanders | #52 | N/R | Feeling | #61 | #73 | Flaws and Sins | #65 | N/R | Candles | #72 | N/R | Scared of Love | #73 | N/R | I'm Still | #75 | N/R | Hate Me | #81 | #14 | Ransom (remix) | #88 | #22 | Graduation | N/R | #50 |
No bystanders recharting is cool, I've always thought of it as one of Juice's best performances

Lol @ people being so sad about his death. Why are we celebrating someone who obviously died of a drug related seizure? It’s his own damn fault. He was trying to quit drugs before his death and the seizure that killed him was likely withdrawal induced. You're a fucking moron.

How do we know he was trying to “quit” when it’s literally circulating on Twitter that he was snorting “substances” last week and apparently there’s several videos?

Idk how successful he was, but drug addiction is a very hard thing to overcome and it seemed like a vice he would turn to in his lowest moments, so I wouldn't hold it against him if he wasn't able to fully quit. It's just tragic that he couldn't sort himself out before it was too late.

I see Brenda Lee being disrespected here but you gotta remember she was ranked as the fourth biggest musician of the 1960's right behind Elvis, The Beatles and Ray Charles. She charted 47 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the biggest female artist of her day. She's also the only woman to be inducted into both the Rock and Roll and Country Hall of Fame.
Brenda is a legend, so let's not just call her the "christmas lady."
