ROUND FIVE - RESULTSWelcome to your fifth elimination ceremony. By the end of this post, only 9 of you will remain in this competition. In this round of sex and naughty music, one person has CUM out on top. The person who did the best is...
WALT91!Ariana Grande & The Weeknd - "Love Me Harder"Congratulations on being the first person to win on multiple rounds! You took a nosedive a couple rounds ago but you bounce back!Sambalada: "One of the best songs Ariana has ever make, for sure. Both delivers solid vocals and the production elevates them even more." (9.4) MoD: "This song is one of the best hit songs of the whole decade in my opinion. Both artists deliver two amazing performances that combined create an explosive, catchy and just really well done pop track, with the beat also adding a lot to that moment, making it 4 minutes of pure fun." (9.5) Lukas: "The better Ariana song in this set. The vocals from both artists are great, the song flows pretty nicely, and the production is awesome." (9.5) Leo: "My favorite Arianaβs song EVER. The chemistry between Ariana and Abel is great and they together deliver this pop perfection." (9.9) TOTAL: 38.3 | AVERAGE: 9.575
The second best is...
NICK PERKINS! Janelle MonΓ‘e feat. ZoΓ« Kravitz - "Screwed"
You really have cemented your status as a force to be reckoned with, huh. Congratulations!Sambalada: "One of my favorite political songs and the usage of sex as a metaphor works. Amazing instrumental and oh my god the honesty in the lyrics is brutal. It can be viewed literally as a sex song too, lol, so you're good for this theme." (9.6)MoD: "I really like the groovy vibes of this song, it keeps you concentrated during the whole song. The lyrics are also really good, I like how they serve as a meaning for both sex (obviously) and a protest song, and the production here is nice, nothing really outperforming but it does well its work." (7.7)Lukas: "Such an amazing song, from the vocals to the instrumentals to the production. The lyrics are great as well. Quite the standout for this set." (9.5)Leo: "The song is totally a mood. The production is fire, Janelleβs vocals are great and the whole product is amazing. Janelle really served the 80βs vibe and this is not an exception." (9.8)TOTAL: 36.6 | AVERAGE: 9.15The third best is...HAMED!Janet Jackson - "If"This is the first time you're in the top three! Keep it up!Sambalada: "From the moment that intro kicked in, you already know you're listening to a great song. This is a jam and a half. Janet delivers." (9.2)MoD: "Janet Jackson's style has never been able of completely clicking with me. Don't get me wrong, the production is great, and the lyrical concept is nice, but I don't really like her vocals nor the melody of the song, it gets obnoxious after some listens. It's not bad, I totally get the appeal for her stuff but I just fail to totally enjoy it." (6.2)Lukas: "I will admit that Iβm not that huge on Janet, but this is one of her better songs. The production and vocals are great and the lyrics are fine; simply put, itβs a very good song." (7.5)Leo: "I never heard this before, but this is the best of the round. The production and her vocals are so smooth and fit with the lyrics perfectly." (10)TOTAL: 32.9 | AVERAGE: 8.225Next...TRILOGY!D'Angelo - "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" Sambalada: "Oh my God this song is so sexy. The smooth production is so, um, arousing. It's easy to imagine making love with this song playing in the background." (9.0)MoD: "Yeah, this is the kind of R&B I love. It has an outsanding performance from D'Angelo, who blend perfectly into that smooth and gorgeous beat to finally end up in something much bigger than what one would normally expect, with an amazing final product." (9.2)Lukas: "The music and lyrics in this song are great, but somehow I find this song to be uninteresting otherwise." (7.4)Leo: "Sorry but this is not my style. So long and boring." (5.0)TOTAL: 30.6 | AVERAGE: 7.65Next...JUG!Prince & The Revolution - "Darling Nikki" Sambalada: "Probably the most scandalous song of the bunch lol, lyrically. The production is amazing but then again it's Prince so it's bound to be good. His performance is great too." (8.2)MoD: "Usually, I enjoy Prince's songs a lot, but I don't think this is close to his best stuff at all. The production is really good, as always, but I felt like his performance on here was kind of underwhelming, the lyrics are pretty good, but he doesn't really sound well in this song in my opinion." (6.0)Lukas: "This is a solid song overall. The production and the vocals are the standout here." (7.9)Leo: "This meets all the requirements for the category. I have never been a big fan of Prince, but this was an okay song for me." (8.0)TOTAL: 30.1 | AVERAGE: 7.525Next...IO!My Bloody Valentine - "Slow"Sambalada: "I don't like not being able to make out the lyrics but other than that it's a great song. I love the industrial music and the whole vibe it gives me." (8.5)MoD: "The distorted guitars on MBV are always fascinating, and this song is no exception. They blend really nicely with Kevin Shield's vocals, and the vibe we get out of this is simply great. It's like a melancholic happy track, and that's not easy to achieve at all. Maybe the production could have been a little bit more solid, but at the end of the day it's still a great song." (9.0)Lukas: "This is a cool song overall. The vocals and the music here flow nicely, and itβs quite fun." (8.0)Leo: "Okay, the lyrics of the song made it apt to the category but dude this really sucks, the production is beyond horrible and the voice of the singer is atrocious. Iβm giving points only because of the lyrics, as I already stated." (3.5)TOTAL: 29.0 | AVERAGE: 7.25Next...BIGFAN!Deana Carter - "Strawberry Wine"Sambalada: "Not the approach I was expecting for a sex theme but it's sure a standout. The song is so sweet, Deana's vocals are beautiful." (8.0)MoD: "This is just generic country. It follows the same structure as most 2000s country mainstream songs do, and that structure is not really interesting to be honest. I feel like the instrumental don't add much too, it's kind of flat, just following the boring structure. At least her vocals were on point." (3.0)Lukas: "The vocals and lyrics here are great. The production is also nice. Definitely a song that deserved more success." (9.4)Leo: "This is a cute country tune but also very boring. I guessed it's from the 90βs. While hearing it I donβt think the song belongs to the category until I searched for the lyrics." (6.5)TOTAL: 26.9 | AVERAGE: 6.725The last person to escape the bottom two is...CARRIE!Lady Gaga - "LoveGame"Sambalada: "Now this is naughty and raunchy. The beat slaps and while Gaga isn't using her full potential here, it's still a great song." (8.1)MoD: "I think this track is terribly dated. The production here is just a mess, but the real villain on this song is Lady Gaga and her peformance. It's just really annoying, for example the ""ha!""s are very obnoxious, and the chorus is as well really bad, the melody of it becomes irritating real quick, and the way she uses the autotune here doesn't do her any favor." (2.0)Lukas: "The vocals used here are great and this is quite a catchy song. The production could use improvement but other than that this is a good song overall." (8.2)Leo: "Long time not hearing this, and it's still a bop. The lyrics really fit on the category and the production is right." (8.4)TOTAL: 26.7 | AVERAGE: 6.675Which means the bottom two is...INDULGE & MAYMANindulge, from the top to the bottom to the top, and to the bottom again. In a sexual context, that's called versatile but in a competition setting, that's called inconsistency.Mayman,Β you've been mostly in the upper half of the rankings but you haven't had your totally outstanding moment yet, and you've been playing too safe with choosing the big hits. The person who still get to stay another week is...MAYMAN!Ariana Grande - "God is a woman"Sambalada: "Solid vocals from Ariana and that save the song from being boring because everything else on it has been done better before." (7.7)MoD: "I've never liked this song at all. I find this song to be really monotone, it's pretty much uninteresting and annoying in my opinion. The chorus is also pretty nothing, not really bad, it's just kinda there. The production is another issue here, I think it's not unique at all, really basic." (3.0)Lukas: "Iβve tried to get into this song but I canβt. Maybe itβs because she has way better songs, but Iβve never actually liked anything about this song aside from the vocals. The production and the basic beat used here are pretty bad and bring the song down a lot." (4.8)Leo: "Iβm burned out on this song, but I canβt deny the vocals Ariana provide on the song are the highlight on it. Overall the song is a good pop tune." (9.2)TOTAL: 24.7 | AVERAGE: 6.175
Being in the bottom two wasn't so fun, right? You were just spared from elimination against one of the frontrunners, so you better get it together and not make us regret saving you.Which means...
INDULGE, I'm sorry but you've been eliminated.
Kelly Rowland feat. Lil Wayne - "Motivation"
Sambalada: "This song is a jam. I like the melody and Kelly's vocals. The production could be better but it's still good. I like to pretend Lil Wayne's part didn't exist." (8.2) MoD: "I feel like this song doesn't really go anywhere. Her singing is pretty good, but it's definetely not enough to keep you interested, and the production doesn't add anything to the track, it's just the same basic beat that many early 2010s songs have. And Lil Wayne, I swear to god I don't know what happened to this guy in this period of time, but what I know is that this style doesn't fit him or the song at all." (3.5) Lukas: "The production and vocals in this song are pretty bad, and itβs really forgettable. Iβm not a huge fan of Lil Wayne and songs like these are why." (2.5) Leo: "Other than Partition, THIS is a song that totally qualifies into the category. This is really a good sexy song." (9.7) TOTAL: 23.9 | AVERAGE: 5.975
Girl, I don't know what to say. I was always the biggest supporter of your songs so I'm really sad that you're leaving. Thank you for participating! :'(

Wow thank you guys for saving me. I wanted to play really safe for this round because I couldn't think of many sexual songs off the top of my head (that are clearly talking about sex) besides songs like Honey and Side To Side. Clearly me sending GIAW wasn't the best choice.

Aiii 3rd place and also got a perfect score from Leo
I was so troubled whether sending If or Throb but I felt that If was safer even though Throb is a sexy ass bop but far more risky and I was already near bottom two last round.
Also smh, Kelendria you were done dirty sweetie, Motivation is THAT bitch

Yay! My highest individual judge ranks....just keep sneaking through.
Edit - when you look at the stats and realize you are the only person left never to finish in the top six...in any round. π³π³. Definitely the underdog at this point.

Jug you keep climbing up the ranks! At this rate you'll be #1 in four rounds But I agree with bigfan that he's now the underdog. With a country boy just out he's the last of his kind, and never making top 6 is a big shame haha. Carrie is likewise the only country girl we got left and she's been close to elimination 4/5 times lol!

Wtaf @ "Motivation" being last? What a mess. That song is an iconic sex jam.
Next time this game gets played, can we get a stronger panel of judges please with more... diverse taste. Thanks.

I think we as a panel of judges are pretty diverse, our tastes are pretty varied, we disagree and agree on many things so I don't think the problem relies there. Every single song this set had at least two judges who really liked it, and if a judge does not like a song here it's not that we're not "strong" judges or anything, it's just different opinions and that's all this game is about

Sam just went with the first two people who volunteered to be judges and no effort to diversify the panel was made beyond implementing a rotating guest judge a few rounds into it. I basically had to forgo country music altogether knowing that it would be tanked to the bottom regardless of how good the song was: "Strawberry Wine" being called 'just generic country' is pretty wildly off-base, for instance. And you liked another poster's comment poking fun at Leo's commentary of a song being boring so that was a co-sign of someone questioning another judge, lol. I kinda just stopped even reading the commentary in full after awhile because I feel like a lot of it was just one-liners that didn't give much of a detailed opinion (and it wasn't just you, fyi). If this things gets another "season," I just hope that there is an effort to pick judges from different corners of the board so the panel is properly balanced.
