considering the fact that these dates are the three fridays before selena's album drop, i see this as a very snake-y and tacky release from his management. let the girl have her chance, especially after he has already admitted to abusing that relationship in the past I don't think it's that deep. He's been teasing dropping new music in 2020 for weeks now. Reportedly, he already has tour dates booked and ready to go. I think the plan was always for him to hit the ground running as soon as the calendar flipped to 2020. he started teasing his new work shortly after lose you to love me was released. his one photo where he asked for 20million likes for his album to get released before 2020 flopped, and now he's trying to undercut selena's success instead of him just waiting a few more months when he actually has general interest

Fo most of the 90s Hot 100 Airplay was primarily Top 40 radio. As we know, AC radio is what plays holiday music most. We donโt necessarily know how AIWFCIY would have done in overall airplay in the mid/late 90s. Sure we do. We have Adult Top 40, Mainstream & Adult Urban, Rhythmic, Mainstream AC, the CHR Recurrents and every other chart that documented AIWFCIY in the late 90s. As a subscriber to Billboard's Airplay Monitor magazine, you could get a terrific picture of its monitored activity based on BDS monitored airplay. It did really well back then. Did it decline from 1998/1999 to 2001/2002?

Post Malone has been caught saying the N-Word, I can no longer support someone who says those kinds of things. Honestly, it's DISGUSTING! But it's ok when black rappers say it? or when they say the "B" word for women? Okay. Delete the black rappers part please it is NOT the same

As long as this thread has already been thoroughly derailed...
White people don't get to weaponize a word against black people for centuries and then say "No one gets to say it anymore, not even the people victimized with it."
Anyway, where will Mimi be?
Edit: I'm re-reading my message and I'm worried it'll be misinterpreted, so: black people get to say the N-word, no one else does, and anyone who says it or wants to say it should take some time to think about why regardless.

It is a lot more acceptable for someone who is actually black to say the n word than it is for anyone else, yes. it's pretty demeaning when a black person says it as well. Why would they even want to use such an ugly word? How about you do some basic research and find out for yourself?

The word should be used by nobody. People who use it as part of their vocabulary regularly have little or no respect.

I wonder if some of the newer Christmas songs, in particular Under The Tree and Christmas Tree Farm, will be able to develop into classics and overtake Mariah in a few years. I love both of those songs so I hope they can at some point! Christmas Tree Farm is too young to tell but it does have that festive feel to it and very catchy so it has potential. Rooting hard for Underneath The Tree! I think it has done pretty well in the 7 years it existed as it continues to be played. It was just used in the trailer of that Disney Plus streaming movie Noelle. And one time I read comments on YouTube and they say they hear it normally on malls! Here in the Philippines, the other mall Christmas song favorite is Britney's My Only Wish. I wonder why that song didn't take off in the US, so incredibly catchy and gets you in the Christmas mood too.

Whatever he ends up doing, I'm just excited for new solo singles and an album from him. It's been way too long. I hope the music is good. considering the fact that these dates are the three fridays before selena's album drop, i see this as a very snake-y and tacky release from his management. let the girl have her chance, especially after he has already admitted to abusing that relationship in the past Only the album release is on a Friday? I doubt that they're planning this release to anger Selena.

Biebs doesn't have a shot to debut at #1 but might climb there the week after. Interesting. Although he hasn't have had a #1 since I'm the One so it's not guaranteed that he'll get there in the first place (probably will as the #1 spot is offered pretty cheap after Xmas though). But why likely two singles? Didn't his team learn anything from The Weeknd and Selena Gomez? Bieber had success with two singles in the past. Probably why hes going for that again

Will their ever be a normal Hot 100 thread. The world may never know. Well, given that this kind of talk basically occurs every Hot 100 thread, for Pulse Music Board standards, this is considered "normal."

It is a lot more acceptable for someone who is actually black to say the n word than it is for anyone else, yes. Well call me old fashioned (I am old that's true) but I don't think it should be appropriate for anybody to use those words. Is it worse when a white person says it? Of course. Based on the history of the word. I understand that. But IMO it's pretty demeaning when a black person says it as well. Why would they even want to use such an ugly word? And some of the things they call women? Yeah...no excuse for that. Again, JMO. Some of the things โtheyโ meaning black people? Yeah, please just go ahead and leave this discussion/thread.

In what way does Scooter Braun relate to Selena from a business standpoint? I swear y'all pull stuff from nowhere.

So back to the original topic, I think AIWFCIY will have the highest points it's ever had. Hope it surpasses 500.
2020 should have a lot of artists making their comebacks (Rihanna, Adele, Drake, Justin Bieber, Travis Scott, Tame Impala, etc). I really wanna see how breakout artists like Billie, Lizzo, and Lil Nas fare into the next year as well.

I mean the four songs they dropped had mild hype around them at best.

But I also don't think you have to have huge sales and chart stats to be impactful in the music scene (ie. Currents).

I swear y'all pull stuff from nowhere. scooter is always looks for ways to get his artists to outshine any competition. he used demi and justin to attack taylor, now he's trying to use justin's new album to try and cut down selena, and just knowing scooter's douchey personality it's probably not even a business standpoint, he probably considers it a joke to him.

Hot 100 threads: Drake is the GOAT -> "Will Rihanna release soon, hope she will, she just posted on IG, SHE WILL!!" -> Why old songs are allowed to chart -> random post about Post Malone and gifs by ddlz -> early predictions based on how people think songs will do instead of actual numbers -> Charts are rigged, airplay is too slow -> Baby Yoda Hot100Fan posts some airplay data to keep us sane -> discussion about racism people misunderstanding the whole concept -> Isn't DRAKE the GOAT?? -> 15 pages before some indication of the week's actual chart positions. Trump and random rappers can also appear every now and then.

Do yourself a favor and stream โJuiceโ, youโll feel better about the shitshow in this thread instantly
Iโm not super excited or annoyed about the next few weeks chartwise. I donโt want to fast forward time to the post-freeze (the bestttt part) so Iโm just gonna coast for now. Mariah obliterating everything in her path is enough for me. Now letโs just hope โHate Meโ makes it to week 20 and โSlow Dancing In The Darkโ stays afloat
