Interestingly, The Chipmunks' "The Chipmunk Song" (the only other Christmas song to top the Hot 100) actually stayed at number one through January 12, 1959, then fell to #3 on January 19th. Of course things moved much slower then, and tracking was different. It's most likely AIWFCIY falls off completely, setting another record.

Amazon Music seems to be a lot of holiday song streams via the Alexa devices. AIWFCIY's resurgence in the Hot 100 the last couple of years has been largely been helped by this. The song's documentary was actually made by the music service.

Tanooki isn't wrong though. The only thing that's keeping these off-topic discussions from continuing is that "oh it's happened before so why stop." Which is why the Hot 100 threads never get any better.

Look, everyone. These threads are to discuss the chart week. Pulse is a huge forum and there is a bunch of other boards. I recommend that you guys branch out and see what else this forum offers. It probably has what most of you are looking for.

And I agree... there’s only so much you can talk about pertaining to the chart week. Especially in a time of year like this. Of course, you shouldn’t be going fully off topic in here bringing up Trump getting impeached or something. But I’d rather have an active thread with some side conversation about something else relating to the H100 rather than a dead thread that gets to 3 pages by the time the chart is revealed :)

How is that any different? If a thread consisting of one discussion is boring and lifeless, then that means the discussion is boring and lifeless. A thread is literally only whatever conversation is contains. One cannot exist without the other. That is how a forum functions. No amount of your rude snark and sassy emoticons is going to change that fact and make what you just said make any sense.

It's also very incorrect. There are tons of conversations that can be had that are relevant to the chart. Y'all just happen to enjoy talking about literally everything else that have their own designated spots for discussion on this site. It's... bizarre, actually. I mean, last week y'all were trying to discuss the impeachment when that is about as far removed from the Hot 100 as you could possibly get.

And holy hell if y'all think discussing the history of the N-word and bickering about which irrelevant artist has fallen off or not is what constitutes an exciting and lively conversation, then we should just shut these threads down now.
