The album is out tomorrow and it’s making zero noise. How did “Intentions” not smash?

So basically sis, you are saying that she and only she made herself miserable and treated herself badly in their relationship? Did she tell you this herself? Nah I don’t care about all that, I just believe that if it happened she would’ve said something sooner (considering they broke up 3 years ago) and not right as he gets married to a new chick and starts releasing music about said new chick. She’s probs just been mad since it was said that Justin mother don’t like her and she likes everyone 💀 Selenas music is begging for people to feel sorry for her and I just don’t buy it sorry ‘sis’ maybe if she could sing then I’d look past it 🤣 Essentially what you've said is that if women wait to speak about any sort of abuse they've experienced, without you even knowing the whole story, they are automatically proven to be liars and attention seekers? She's only speaking about this now because her album is based on letting go of toxic relationships and learning to admire yourself, and because this is the first time in years she actively been doing interviews and making public appearances. Get some help. You need it.

Back on topic, please!
Yeah, Intentions is doing fine and the album sounds like fire. Glad he went back to the Journals sound. It suits him so well.

Less than 24 hours AAAAAAH. My copy from Amazon has shipped! I read some of the comments from the album listening party and I am even more excited. Apparently, he set out explicitly to make a Journals Pt. II but he said this wound up morphing into something else, so this wound up being more like Journals' cousin, but Journals II is coming. Also, apparently, there are only really 3-4 ballad/slow songs on the whole thing.

All evidence leads to her being the abusive one (Tyler the creators interview about her, the weeknds songs he wrote after their breakup) Justin defs has some issues I’m not gonna count that out but Selena is absolutely toxic and her new music proves it anyone who looks into it can see it.

OK, but Selena has her own thread to carry on discussions about her apparent toxicity. Justin and Selena are not even together and I'm pretty sure there are no songs about her on Changes, so why is her name still being invoked here?

He is taking over Corden all next week. Promo!! Also, he sang the title track at the O2 in London and closed with one of his best songs All That Matters.

First listen done and as with so many (wannabe) R&B albums these days, this is all very samey. The Journals soundscape is much more interesting still, if dated. I wish these producers weren‘t so lazy...I feel like we‘ve been listening to the same beats for years now.

His vocals are actually quite soulful, but trying hard to wrote all songs by himself and not using different producers and writers(no that poo is bad) might bomb his career. Lets make certain one thing - Bieber is not a songwriter, but rather pop product, who has to use every other hot producer and writer to his maximum. I would like to see his urban album with the likes Pharrell and Polow da Don etc, because he has the looks and vocals to really deliver. Yes this album sounds half baked, even after 5 years gap.

RUNNING OVER Come Around Me Intentions Yummy Available Take It Out On Me Second Emotion Get Me E.T.A Changes Confirmation That's What's Love Is At Least For Now
Definitely my favorite after Purpose. The production is smooth(at times it sounds the same, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. He clearly only wanted Poo Bear(Bo1-ida on "Get Me") to work with and that's that.), and he is vocally in a good place. I also liked how he split the uptempos from the slower, ballad songs(which dare I say- I actually like these ballads😖)I'm glad hes just in a better space and hes in love and happy, and it shows on this album. I need to hear RO live.

His recent praise of Chris Brown makes complete sense while listening to this. You could drop practically any of these tracks on HOAFM or Indigo and not even notice the difference.
I'm kinda tired of this sound from Chris though. And Justin isn't dynamic enough of a singer or a writer to make it interesting. It's all pleasant and easy to listen to though, the perfect kind of music to just play in the background and not have to think about it.

It's cohesive for sure. The production is the best part of the album but the writers definitely arent bringing their A or even B game tbh. If anything it felt like a more polished Journals

This album is like Journals Ugly Sister that you had to be with because everyone else is hanging out with the more attractive sister(Journals).

I swear the first half of this album is in the same BPM. With that aside Come Around Me, Running Over (minus Lil Dicky), and Take It Out on Me are IT.

I kinda agree with you and the thing with Chris is, he's more experienced in this type of music & in a much better place artistically than Justin. He could make the most basic sounding R&B song sound interesting because of his delivery (vocals, adlibs, harmonies, etc.) while with Justin - everything sounds really flat. Also at least with Chris he likes to put a couple of Urban and sometimes EDM/Dance-Pop bangers here and there on his albums. This one literally has zero, I was looking for some uptempo but I never got it.

Habitual Come Around Me Forever Running Over Take It Out On Me Get Me E.T.A.Songwriting was never his strong suit and he ain’t hardly got enough soul in them vocals to be a balladeer but R&Beiber is his sweet spot all day! I swear the first half of this album is in the same BPM. With that aside Come Around Me, Running Over (minus Lil Dicky), and Take It Out on Me are IT. the FaceTime ring at the end of CAM sends me!!

This is excellent. Justin, Hailey, and team should be proud. While Purpose had higher highs, Changes is far more consisent and he sounds the best he has ever on record. It's chill but has enough subtle sonic bells and whistles to keep me wanting to listen again. Overall, I would say Purpose might edge out SLIGHTLY over this one BECAUSE of those dazzling highs he had on Purpose, but this is a beautiful tribute to Hailey and where his life is now. Loved his choice in guests too and glad Night Walker remix is not on the physical edition! I give this an A-.
1. Intentions 2. Habitual 3. Second Emotion 4. Forever (that crackhead that comes in at the end is oddly appealing to my ear. like, I keep my ear tilted to hear his strange voice) 5. Confirmation 6. E.T.A. 7. Take It Out On Me 8. Yummy 9. Get Me 10. Come Around Me 11.That's What Love Is 12. Running Over 13. Available 14. Changes 15. All Around Me 16. At Least For Now (what in the Believe album hell?? and then the Dolores O'Riordan impression he does at the end...mess.)
