The Box is 35k streams away from 2 million on Spotify! Really impressive. Also SUGAR is up 26 spots to #49, and Say So moves 19 spots to #54. The Box should definitely pass 2 million for today's Spotify update. Any predictions for Yummy's Spotify debut?

Off-topic (like everything else here) but last week's UK #1, Ellie Goulding's "River", is down to #28 this week. She's got The Weeknd wishing. River is a Christmas song though, so I'm quite impressed it hung on at all, let alone in the top 40! Where would it be if other songs didnβt have their points reduced?

Very interesting to see the opening streams of Yummy. He is not the biggest teen star any more so he needs to find audience from elsewhere too. Is the urban audience going to endorse him?

Agreed. Yes it sounds like another "No Guidance" which is the vibe I am getting from the chorus.....darn.... wish he would stick to the usual pop sounds. The charts gonna be filled with mellow tracks this year....sad sad It's been 3 days Hey, Mayman Yes 3 days and no bangerz yet is too much to handle already....sigh... Bieber let me down a bit. My only joy so far was seeing Blinding Lights finally listed on today KWORB's Radio Updates. It might be too late for a future top 10 because this should have been Weeknd's first lead....but more sigh. You will definitely know when I am excited again. Hopefully soon.

But I don't think it'll hold because overall there doesn't seem to be much hype around the song.

Blinding Lights is doing really great so far without promo.

I know this probably seems too premature, but Yummy is not lighting up iTunes that well and it should be higher on Apple Music at this point. I'm not sure this song is going to stick around. Spotify/MV/Vinyl bundles can make it go #1 still, but it's really not doing damage out the gate. It's at #6 on AM now. Really tepid numbers considering that this is the comeback single from one of the most consistent and prolific hitmakers of the 2010s. Granted, we're only a day into the tracking week, but there's very little in the way of fanfare atm. I wouldn't be shocked if this didn't debut at #1.

Okay, I think we all have enough of this. Sorry for the first comment, I know that it was immature and might sounded like I was trying to just make a drama. And yeah, I know that I might come across as sour - and that's because I'm sick of talentless 'artists' getting recognition and any form of success. Selena Gomez is just one example, there are others like Lil Pump, 6ix9ine and many, many more. It looks like you only have to make a catchy, autotuned song and it might be a hit. They're just a disgrace for real artists and vocalists like Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey. Fortunately, we have such singers nowadays as Ariana or BeyoncΓ©, who actually have talent. But it's still pissing me off that someone like Selena is still achieving great success and people believe that she can sing because she sounds good on audio. Even worse is that this forum is still defending her and thinks that I'm just some troll. But yes, my comment was pointless, because I sadly won't change people's mind and GP will continue to buy and stream her music. Now, go on and report me for stating my opinion. I'm fine with that. Believe it or not, discussions about talent of artists are off topic in this thread about numbers. Surprising, I know.

When what do you mean came out, it broke the itunes chart and had been huge
When despacito remix came out, the entire world went crazy and quickly streamed it and became the biggest song of 2017
This honestly is just disappointing but i feel like this has to do with the quality of the song itself rather than star power

Hoping they release The Box's music video ASAP, there's so much potential for a good one too, perhaps surrounding memeing the beat (Think Window Cleaners or something along those lines)

It might be too late for a future top 10 because this should have been Weeknd's first lead....but more sigh.Β You will definitely know when I am excited again. Hopefully soon.Β Don't forget that "Blinding Lights"' streams will most likely increase once the album drops (especially if its one of the first tracks), which considering that it's probably going to get a radio release this month, will mean that its likely going to go top ten at least.

I donβt know why people expect rapid commercial success for certain artists every time they release material simply because theyβve been successful in the past. β’ 2015 was 5 years ago. β’ 2017 was 3 years ago. Throughout history, only a select few mainstream acts have maintained high interest in their music for five consecutive years, let alone for over a decade before they begin to decline. Moreover, Bieberβs image/persona has taken a toll/moved into another direction since 2018... His frequent βdishevelledβ looks/appearances; his newfound βspiritual connectionβ with God & Christianity; him now being a husband and married where the majority of his fanbase still comprises of teenagers and young female adults etc. With how fickle mainstream music/entertainment is these days and how fast people get bored and move on to something else, it wouldnβt surprise me if βYummyβ underperformed as did his upcoming era as a whole. We just have to wait and see.

I estimate Yummy to debut with about 8.5 million streams, and the next day go down to 5.5 or 6 million. Edit: This was for global streams.

Went to the comments of the Yummy lyric video and even Bieber fans aren't liking the song Also everyone's already made fun of "that yummy yum" but how come no one's said anything about the fact he unironically said "get litty babe" like a corny af white boy?

After 24 hours, Yummy has officially become The Box's latest victim on AM, stalling at #2 just like AIWFCIY and Out West.

Yummy simultaneously sounds like a rehash of his Purpose era and a failed attempt to sound fresh by throwing in a trap beat
