The Box is 35k streams away from 2 million on Spotify! Really impressive. Also SUGAR is up 26 spots to #49, and Say So moves 19 spots to #54. I donβt mind The Box at all, itβs kind of growing on me, and Sugar and Say So have definitely been my most listened to songs ever since their respective albums released, so Iβm really happy right now Also that Sugar video would be weird in year end list videos if it actually becomes a big enough hit

A lot of people have been saying Yummy is a prime TikTok song, especially with Bieber filming TikToks of the song already so I guess he's got that for the song's longevity.
Sidenote: don't search 'yummy tiktok' just yet. You...won't get what you're hoping for.

Also, he created a TikTok account just to promote the song it seems.

Also, he created a TikTok account just to promote the song it seems. This might be a reach, but it's never a good sign when an artist is already doing the most to ensure a song's success as soon as it's released. I still believe in organic success. You can drop lyric and actual music videos, but when you start bundling a hundred random items and doing the most to make your song "appear" to be a hit, it's already done. First off, all those shenanigans never last so at best, you have a week or two before the song falls again.

Getting outstreamed by Don't Call Me Angel and a f**king Post Malone album song...what a spectacular failure. I don't think forcing a TikTok dance is gonna save this song.
EDIT: The song has debuted at #2 on US Spotify with 1.8 million streams. This is absolutely disastrous.

Yummy debuted at #2 on US Spotify behind The Box... LMFAO The Box - 2.278 million streams Yummy - 1.863 million streams Bieber is also #2 at Apple Music, also behind The Box. But the best information from today's update is that SUGAR by BROCKHAMPTON rose to #37!
EDIT: SUGAR is also in the top 50 on AM! The band is so close to score their first entry on BH100

That second and third day drop is going to be ugly and very sobering for Bieber's team.

First off, all those shenanigans never last so at best, you have a week or two before the song falls again. The problem for someone like Justin Bieber (and Taylor Swift, etc.) is that it's seen as a failure for them if they don't debut at #1, or at least have a good excuse for being blocked from #1 like releasing the same week as Adele. So I think in a way they're kind of forced to act differently. People like Rihanna and Post Malone very rarely debut at #1 (if ever) and it's kind of expected it will take longer for them. There's a lot less pressure for them in release week I think.

Is The Box the early contender for no.1 this week?

It's really embarrassing to have a highly anticipated lead single getting less first-day streams than two album tracks ("needy" and "Saint-Tropez"). At least we seem to have learned from last year that name recognition does not make a song automatically good. Keep working on those New Year resolutions, folks! π

The only good things for Yummy today will be its official video release and continued radio audience growth thanks to payola. I don't think it will remain #1 at iTunes the rest of the tracking week.

This is a complete disaster!. Circles or ROXANNE will probably get the #1 this week. This could really be the end of Bieber's solo career (he still does good on features)

How could Yummy possibly do less than 10K Hours? wow
But yea, The Box and the way it's smashing is the bigger story. I think it could potentially go #1 this week

The only good things for Yummy today will be its official video release and continued radio audience growth thanks to payola. I don't think it will remain #1 at iTunes the rest of the tracking week. Today's radio update is "payola" because of the one day hourly deals that have been going on for like 9 years now. But "Yummy" is by an artist that has proven to be a big hit with radio listeners. Program directors are obviously going to hop on that straight away since it's a "safe" add. That's not payola. And it will likely keep increasing until PDs get enough negative listener feedback, assuming radio listeners actually don't like it. Look no further than tracks like "Filthy" or "Don't Call Me Angel" to see how radio treats an A-list song with D-list reception. Quick rise to a middling peak with a fast fall. Also it's physically impossible for "Yummy" to lose airplay during its first week.

^Maybe so. I think the song will have quite a rough seventh day correction on its radio audience, especially since I'd think radio callout scores will be bad for it.

Wow, Yummy cannot even beat Roddy Ricch on Spotify, his star power has peaked. On another note, My Oh My has reached the top ten on Spotify and Blinding Lights is almost reaching the top ten.

βThe Boxβ is a f*cking classic already.
I played it at work yesterday - most of my colleagues donβt listen to Hip-Hop, nor could they understand what he was saying but they loved it!
This better go to #1.

Yay for The Box and Blinding Lights! Also find it hilarious that Camila's team releases 5 singles, two of them with music videos, and has to tack on Senorita to boost album numbers, and yet the only single that seems to be on it's way to being successful is only doing so because of TikTok.

The Box is up 38.5% on U.S. Spotify this Friday compared to last Friday. It's possibly coming for 50M+ streams this week.

I like Yummy. With regards to the first page discussion about it being inevitable he would copy Drake's style, they had a good collab years back called Right Here, which sounded more like a Drake song than a Bieber song. It even charted on rhythmic iirc.
