The 4-11 range is a mess and the formula change is not helping lol. I think after a month or so it's gonna be easier to predict.
For this week, I have The Box becoming the third song to reach 65M on-demand streams in a week (OTR 80.594M, God's Plan 68.000M, The Box 65.425M) and Life Is Good as the first song ever to reach 70M streams despite not being the #1 song of the week.

January 23, 201001 01 TiK ToK - Ke$ha (4th of 9 weeks at #1)07 NE Blah Blah Blah - Ke$ha feat. 3OH!3 27 NE Your Love Is My Drug - Ke$ha 1. Kesha really came out the gate with unexpected success in 2010. "Tik Tok" seemed like a bonafide one-hit wonder song. Yet the album debuted #1, her 2nd single debuted top 10, and she had like 5 top 10s that year. 2. I just re-listened to Blah Blah Blah, and it's a guilty pleasure but damn does 2010 music seem like a lifetime ago. 3. 3OH3!'s feature on Blah Blah Blah is barely 15 seconds. That has to be one of the shortest credited features on a hit ever. 30H3! Really didn't say anything in those 15 seconds lol it came and went like there career.

fhas is there a specific reason why 10k hours is selling 2x more than Dance Monkey? I know 10k hours was #5 last week but that was because it had better streaming than predicted; it was only #7 on the sales chart last week.

Back in 2010, Kesha had an incredible debut. 4 top 10 hits off of “Animal” and a #1 debut with “We R Who We R”. Her battle with Dr. Luke casted some shade on her career, but I feel that’s made respectable music through the past decade.

I had Dance Money at #7 with 24k downloads and Yummy at #5 with 12k in my early prediction and forgot to change the sales numbers for my final prediction. It's DM at #5 with 24k and 10,000 Hours at #7 with 9.7k. Radio, streaming and points are ok. Thank you!

final predictions i refuse to believe that sum 2 prove will debut higher than good news. I just wanted to say that I think lil baby is overhated on pulse, he's a pretty solid rapper and always has a clean flow But Good News and that whole Mac Miller album really was something special so it BETTER debut over sum 2 prove

But with that being sad Mac deserves the higher debut for sure.

Sum 2 Prove just sounds like a below average Future song to me. I'll still bat for Drip Too Hard though, that song slaps.

Since “10,000 Hours” is #1 on Billboard Country Airplay it becomes a member of the list of country songs to reach the Hot 100 top 5 and be a country radio #1. Other songs in this category include: “Meant To Be”, “Cruise”, “Love Story” and “You Belong With Me”. “Body Like A Backroad” (peak: 6) and “Before He Cheats” (peak: 8) got close!

Yes, Amazed was number 1 for (I think) 8 weeks on the country chart which was the longest reign in decades. Throughout the 80s no Country song spent more than 3 weeks at number one! Thats how George Strait and Alabama racked up so many chart-toppers.

That seems to have been super common in the mid '70's.

That seems to have been super common in the mid '70's. It occurred to me that remakes pretty much ended during the late 1990s just as early era of internet radio starting taking hold, followed by the emergence of YouTube, etc. Sampling then provided a way to 'revive' a successful hit for a new era. Successful remakes - especially of hit singles - were possible previously because radio was the primary way people received music consistently. Since these remakes were primarily geared to Top 40, you had a whole new audience that probably never heard the original unless you caught it on oldies station or had sought it out by purchasing a album/CD that contained it.

what songs in the bottom half of the chart do you think have potential to become big?
SUGAR is an obvious one but I feel like Slide could have a successful run eventually, as well as Say So

Okay I hate posting predictions so late but since the chart is not out, I did not include Yummy's radio tanking in my previous prediction, AND I changed my streaming formula, let's do this again: Rank | Song | Radio | Sales | On-Demand Streaming | You-Tube | Passive/UGC | Total Streaming | Weighted Streaming | Total Points | 1 | The Box | 20,300,000 | 14,400 | 65,400,000 | 9,000,000 | 20,700,000 | 95,100,000 | 79,200,000 | 58,100 | 2 | Life Is Good | 15,600,000 | 30,000 | 53,600,000 | 13,500,000 | 5,900,000 | 73,000,000 | 64,000,000 | 49,900 | 3 | Circles | 101,100,000 | 18,300 | 16,700,000 | 1,300,000 | 6,500,000 | 24,500,000 | 19,900,000 | 30,800 | 4 | Memories | 96,100,000 | 19,400 | 10,700,000 | 1,300,000 | 5,700,000 | 17,700,000 | 14,000,000 | 26,300 | 5 | 10,000 Hours | 91,000,000 | 11,500 | 10,400,000 | 1,000,000 | 7,300,000 | 18,700,000 | 14,400,000 | 24,500 | 6 | Dance Monkey | 50,000,000 | 20,000 | 16,000,000 | 2,000,000 | 8,300,000 | 26,300,000 | 20,700,000 | 24,300 | 7 | Lose You To Love Me | 87,400,000 | 11,800 | 12,000,000 | 1,300,000 | 4,700,000 | 18,000,000 | 14,600,000 | 24,200 | 8 | Someone You Loved | 87,400,000 | 10,000 | 10,700,000 | 600,000 | 7,800,000 | 19,100,000 | 14,500,000 | 23,800 | 9 | Yummy | 48,700,000 | 12,000 | 16,200,000 | 5,500,000 | 5,500,000 | 27,200,000 | 22,000,000 | 23,600 | 10 | Roxanne | 59,200,000 | 7,500 | 18,000,000 | 0 | 6,800,000 | 24,900,000 | 20,200,000 | 23,200 |

Do audio or lyric videos not count to the YouTube of a song? Don’t they have to be from the artist’s official channel to count? Pretty sure that’s the case; for example, if I created a lyric video for The Box then it would fall under UGC, not YT official. Which I don’t think any of Roxanne’s videos are.

Lady Marmalade was probably one of the first biggest remakes of the millennium. Correct in 2001. Other than Idol charity singles, how many other covers have hit No 1 or even the Top 10 since then? I’m sure there’s been a handful, but overall it’s been a huge shift from what was a very common practice in the industry. It was interesting how covers go be really good even through the 90s (All By Myself, Without You) or horrific (Total Eclipse of the Heart), but it was always fascinating to analyze a new interpretation on a previous hit. Those days I suppose are long gone.

Theres been a lot of covers within alternative music recently (Africa, Doin’ Time, Running Up That Hill) so maybe the practice can hopefully spread back to the Hot 100.
