I have to agree, Drake passed Beatles up in overall chart impact several years ago. He is the biggest artist of all time (at least in the US in the last 60 years, to the fairest possible measurement).
That's not to say that beatles don't still have plenty of unmatched accomplishments though.

I don't think Drake is the biggest/greatest artist of all time, but the comparisons between older and newer acts will always be a thing. It doesn't matter that things were different decades ago than they are now. The more newer acts break the records that were set by older acts, the more those conversations will start up.

You're obsessed with trying to make it look like people are over drake, go outside and stop worrying about the biggest and greatest artist of all time please Biggest and greatest? Not while the Beatles still exist. fadtles career :1963-1969 Drake career 2009-present Drake serving longevity and has more hits, ten years from now kindergartener will learn bout God's plan during music class while doing the imf dance and have hotline bling memes posted around campus while they scream out yolo. Clearly drake has more impact

If Drake is the biggest artist of all time based on Spotify streams, then Ed Sheeran must come second.
But what part of my post about LIG losing 700k streams on Spotify compared to the previous Saturday was not true? I would've posted if it GAINED 700k as well as I like to post about these things (see also my weekly Spotify updates when they are available).

I'll be surprised if JoBros single becomes a notable hit (top 10 or better). Their comeback hype has definitely run its course. For boybands like that it's best to do a comeback once every few years, and go completely off the grid until the next comeback. That's why Sucker was so huge out the gate. Once a boyband announces a reunion and does the first drop it will be a big deal, but usually, the effect wares off by the end of the year. Backstreet Boys 2005 comeback album did decently, then their next 3 in 2007/2009/2013 bombed, then they took a lengthy hiatus and the 2019 comeback did better. Boybands in general become very big nostalgia acts, and similar to when an old TV series makes a revival, it generates huge press first season back, but then it kinda takes a nosedive. The Full House reboot, Roseanne reboot, Jersey Shore reboot, etc are good examples. Musically, I remember Dr. Dre's 2015 comeback album did huge numbers first week (near 300k) then kinda completely nosedived after. 20/20 Experience was one of the better crafted nostalgia comebacks, but still it was mostly dead by the time the Part 2 era rolled around at the end of the year. Nostalgia comebacks are very short-lived, you have to know how to capitalize on them short-term. I wouldn't call Never Gone (BSB's 2005 album) a 'successful' comeback tbh. In isolation it was decent, but in context they went from an 8x platinum album to 1x platinum and only had one minor top 20 hit. They were basically written off as being out of place in a world where urban and pop-rock had taken over during their absence. It didn't help that all of their bubblegum counterparts had moved on from said bubblegum (Britney, Christina, solo Justin, hell even JC's flop album was on some other wave) which made it even more apparent that BSB's sound was stuck in the past. The 2017-2019 comeback was a success for the very reason you stated though: they were launching their residency and pretty much all residencies sell themselves on nostalgia. That there was new music eventually attached to it was incidental. t. Agreed on this and to add, a Backstreet Boys reunion 20 years after they debuted is more of an event especially since their initial fans are now in their 30s/40s and that age group you already are a full-fledged adult and have faced life's challenges. So when something from your childhood / teen years comes back in circulation, it triggers that nostalgic feeling and takes you back to the time when life is simple and will illicit that happy memories and the desire to relieve that time. It also feels like catching up with an old friend.

It has been #43 already on Spotify US but I guess it has just got more and more exposure each week.
It's #3 globally and I read that holds the daily record in Mexico.

Still hoping Ballin' can find a way to break into the Top 10. Still in the Top 10 on AM, radio is steady, it just needs sales to push it further.

Comparing The Beatles to Drake is a joke. The Beatles completely changed the music landscape in 1964. There’s a clear dividing line between pop music from 1963 to 1964.
The Beatles lasted 6 years and are still considered the most influential band in the modern music era.
Does Drake even write his own raps? I know he didn’t initially. Drake makes great music, but It’s not even comparable. Silly conversation.

He got his start in the music industry writing songs for people. It's very silly to question his songwriting ability without doing your proper research first. For you to even say something as dumb as "I know he didn't initially" is laughable. How exactly do you know that? Who told you that?

Oh god, Lil Dicky is gonna have a TV show . I wanna say I don't think it's gonna impact the charts but I wouldn't be surprised if a song goes viral off of it. His style of lowbrow humor still gets clicks and reaction vids so stay tuned? ughhhhhhhhhhh

I think drake’s staying power is his unbelievable ability to take the trends of the time and improve on them in ways only he can. In 2009 he made big bombastic rap collective songs, in 2011 he made smooth rnb jams, in 2016 he hopped on a tropical house song, and in 2018-now he’s riding the trap boom to the moon

Does Drake even write his own raps? I know he didn’t initially. Why lie? Like thegreatdivine said, Drake started out writing for many major artists. I dont know what made you think he hasn’t written any of his music

Yummy went up 8-5 in Australia and 2-1 in New Zealand this week if that's any indication as to how it's gonna perform in the States...
